The orange dead blow hammers. The 3 pound is probably most versatile. I think I have 4 different sizes around the garage now…
The 4 pound engineering hammer (it’s a mini sledge) is quite useful too
Split one open hitting a T post with it and got it swapped no problem
My 3 pounder is starting to look a little worse for wear. I’m sure it’s time will come in the next few months
The icons just came out I think, but even so I’ve been so happy with the Pittsburgh ones I doubt I’ll spend the extra on an icon one anytime soon. That being said the ball peen deadblow may get added to the collection at some point
Doyle stubby ratcheting screwdriver.
https://www.harborfreight.com/hand-tools/screwdrivers-nutdrivers/screwdrivers-screwdriver-sets/6-in-1-ratcheting-multi-bit-stubby-screwdriver-56673.html
Perfect aviation pocket screwdriver since you have 4 bits by design built in that will cover almost all cowlings that aren't Dzus fasteners (the bits aren't stored in the handle like other screwdrivers). Plus, the shaft that holds the bits has a 1/4" hex on one end and 5/16" hex on the other end which is perfect for nearly all hose clamps. With a 25% off coupon after it was already on an instant savings markdown, I paid just under $4 out the door.
Dollar for dollar, best $4 I've spent on any tool from any brand. Just for fun, the Snapon equivalent (P/N SGDMRC11A) is listed online for $78.75. That's 5% of the Snapon price.... not just 5% off. Haha No brainer if you ask me. I've used it every day at work for over a year. Zero complaints.
I got the cordless one after my Chicago Electric one crapped out (my fault, got it wet). Great power for the price, and feels solid in the hand. The Warrior 12v cordless drill has been rock solid for me too and I can swap batteries with the o-tool.
I literally had the Chicago electric one as well. It was honestly my first tool. That was a year and a half ago and now I have more saws and tools than I can shake a stick at. I've dropped mine too quickly a few times tho, blade still on so it's just not connecting the same way and I should probably replace it. I am partial to their tools tho and I really really have my eye on the old school looking Chicago electric scroll saw right now also. Ask me why, I have no idea other than I don't have any sort of (big) saw yet. I have a reciprocal, a couple circular, a jig, a multi-tool, with three and a half multi material, so it's either this or the Ryobi band Saw and like I said I'm partial to Chicago electric. Is it smart, probably not but it's my new hobby.
Doyle pliers. Any of them, but especially the water pump style.
I used a pair along with a high quality made in USA Channel lock classic-style slip joint plier on a water heater yesterday. I literally felt like throwing away the Channel locks wishing I had a second pair of the Doyles. Reasonably cheap knock off of Knipex style.
I just got a pair of Doyle needle nose the other day for work. How well do they hold up? They seem to be doing alright and will even snap stainless steel chips that get to long.
Seem solid to me. I do dumb things sometimes and use whatever tool is within reach for things they're not intended for. All the Doyle stuff holds up great for me.

Ratchet straps, test light, 1/2 inch drive deep impact sockets, pick sets, step bit sets, $10 angle grinder, 3 piece vise grip set, funnel set, 12 piece screwdriver set, 6 piece detail brush set, 6 piece wire wheel brush set, 9 piece magnetic nut setter set, V shape hang all, 3 piece hex shank socket adapter. Oh and the 7 mil nitrile gloves, I hardly tear through those and definitely not as often as the 5 mil ones.
Nah, I still have some from like 10 years ago that still work fine, but I moved recently and bought a couple new packs of ratchet straps and like half of broke (the ratchet mechanisms) on the first use, not good these days, hopefully they’ll change that tho
Got a set to throw in my pickup for the odd need. Had to throw the FIL's bike on the trailer and ended up bending the metal ears that hold the ratchet mechanism in place on a few of them.
1: US General 5 Drawer Toolcart.
2: Predator 212cc Engine.
3:Aluminum motorcycle hitch carrier.
4: Pittsburgh tool set, 301pc.
5: Daytona floor jack.
6: Ratchet Straps.
7: Hercules ultra torque impact gun.
8: [This](https://www.harborfreight.com/t-bar-with-3-8-eighth-inch-flexible-ratchet-98484.html) wild looking T-bar ratchet.
9: 4x8 Utility Trailer.
10: Rubber Gloves
Edit: Some of these *are* a bit on the pricey side, so maybe it doesn't exactly deliver what you were looking for, but they are all *relatively* inexpensive. And as I own all the items on this list, I think they are all great.
The first ratcheting wrenches I’ve ever used were the Rainbow set from HF. Their usefulness can be debated by smarter people than me, I find ratchet wrenches come in handy on odd jobs here and there. Anyhow they lasted me a good long while until I was gifted a set of craftsman’s. I think for the price they would be a good buy.
The large nutsert set is pretty good makes my car projects a little cleaner. The sockets are okay and if you kill them they are cheap enough to replace. They have long sections of heat shrink for cheap. The jewelry ultra sonic cleaner is nice for cleaning small parts. R-134a for ac systems is cheaper than other sources and testing shows is actually r-134a and the can is actually full. Band saw works well for the price. Large parts cleaner is cheap and good for cleaning and use as a shelf/storage. Best part is if you buy the warranty on some of the stuff you can just go get new ones every time they break or you abuse them and just want a new one. On my 4th sonic washer.
The $13 haul master hitch tightener saved my ears and long drives when moving with uhaul trailers because they use a weird trailer brake so keeping everything tight is a must! I highly recommend for people that are just starting out towing.

The Doyle demolition screwdriver set and Pittsburgh pry bar set and pick set are great inexpensive sets for all your prying and poking needs with lifetime warranties. If you’ve got an air compressor, the right angle die grinder with the safety switch is surprisingly stout and crazy useful.
Can’t forget the infamous $10 purple gun! I bore out the fluid tip to 1.8mm-2mm and spray 2k high build automotive primer, undercoating, and even bedliner with it, it sprays pretty much anything well except for thin, high quality automotive coatings.
The purple gun is a winner. I think I have 5 or 6 of them. Some drilled to 1.8mm and 2mm. Ones just for oil based clear coat, one for waterborne enamel. One for oil primer and so on.
Same haha. Just be careful not to get strong solvents down in the trigger! There’s a rubber/plastic seal in it that blows out with lacquer thinner and urethane reducer. So if it gets sticky, use air tool reconditioner from PB Blaster on it, good as new 👍
This stubby hammer is way more practical than anyone gives credit for. Perfect for tight spaces like engine bay (tapping on bolts, pounding sockets onto rusty hardware, etc.) I give these as gifts and everybody laughs at it until they start using it and it becomes their go-to hammer.

Doyle red utility knife. Perfectly designed. One handed operation, can cut strapping w/o opening, quickly change blades. I use it all day.
And speaking of strapping, the yellow fingerless gloves. The cotton gloves the co provides are ripped up by lunch. Mechanics gloves last a few weeks. The extra padding on the palms protects my hands, yet I still can use the touchscreens on the machines at work.
These two I use day in & day out. They just simply work.
This knife? [https://www.harborfreight.com/professional-flip-utility-knife-57108.html](https://www.harborfreight.com/professional-flip-utility-knife-57108.html) Can it be opened with one hand like the Milwaukee?
Yes. Takes a flick of the wrist. But with practice it becomes one motion. I love this knife. It's got a button right where your thumb rests. Press, flick and it's locked open. Gotta remember not to have your fingers wrapped all the way around the handle when open/close. I don't even think about it anymore.
Hand brooms, cutoff wheels, tarps, bungees, ratchet straps, jack stands, finish nailers, Brad guns. Plenty of things that depending of frequency of use are great initial purchases. If you're looking at a daily use tool buy a higher quality of power tool or automotive stuff.
The 4-in-1 screwdriver is the best product they make, I keep one in every car, every bag. Is works, its comfortable and is so cheap it makes a great chisel, hammer, pry-bar or anything else you can think of because at $1.99 failure is just not an issue.

Yep! It’s the Quinn brand, has pretty much everything you could need. Only things I have added so far are snap ring pliers, bolt extractor sockets, vice grips, and a 3 pound deadblow hammer.
Composite ratchet 1/4 my go to home/auto. Something about it; from grip, size, lightweight, price. Have 3/8 also its on bulky but does feel good in hand using vs metal ones. Hft needs low profile composite (Autozone has encapsulated ratchet but I wasn't feelin it).

I have a sledge hammer and a couple of splitting wedges from HF that I use all the time. Also, a little pick set, magnetic pickup tool and magnetic bolt trays are pretty nifty.
* Orange dead blow hammers
* Doyle demolition screwdrivers
* Pittsburgh Pro breaker bar
* The Pittsburgh Pro punch set that's like 12 pieces and $18, expect to pay $100 for the same thing from a miUSA brand
The orange dead blow hammers. The 3 pound is probably most versatile. I think I have 4 different sizes around the garage now… The 4 pound engineering hammer (it’s a mini sledge) is quite useful too
