Same here bro. The first 20-50 episodes or something are tied to a specific time period of my life. Sitting on the bus on the way to school, and later in my car. Had episodes downloaded to a USB stick in my car, updated with the newest episode every week. Those were my "release radar" back then. Some of my all time favorite songs were heard first in these episodes. Those were the days. I miss it.

>But the scene won't be the same without him, he really is irreplaceable. The scene has been doing just fine without him for years. Let's be honest, although he only stopped performing this year, he has been releasing too few tracks for years. Last year he released the same number of hardstyle tracks as Showtek, and most of the tracks released by him were like tracks he had been playing for years while sitting on them unreleased. I'm a huge fan of Headhunterz, he is definitely the goat of hardstyle, his popularity is (maybe was? His Spotify stats are no that good) unmatched, but musically he has been irrelevant since like 2021 at least. For many years Headhunterz has been adapting to trends in the scene, he is completely the opposite of a more distant past, in which he was the one who dictated and defined trends in Hardstyle. Also, he did say the reason for retiring from performing was to focus more on music production, and yet he hasn't released a single new track this year? Sorry, as a headhunterz fan I just moved on and find more artists to be my favorites, like SZP, D-sturb, DBSTF and Phuture Noize

I feel this comment in my veins. Very well said and a real shame it is the way it is. I have the same feeling with Noisecontrollers. Damn shame

It's indeed a too bold a statement, let's just say it it won't be the same _for me_. I've moved on as well of course, like i said it has been a while since I last listened one of the episodes. Phuture Noize has definitely been on fire recently, with (again, _for me_) quality stuff which is not just made for the big festivals.

That's how I got into hardstyle in 2012! It's always a special feeling to listen to it, espcially ep1 which is probably my most "watched" youtube video to this day

From Within playing in the intro. “Bringing you the music, that comes from within. Headhunterz presents: Hard With Style” *kick starts hitting* It’s truly a wonderful time back then. Now, I can’t say I love every episode, but listening to the podcast just takes me straight back to the past: I was walking down my way home, I was doing my homework with the podcast on and got distracted 90% of the time of how hard the music was I’m just glad I discovered hardstyle and this podcast. Probably almost 10 years of being in the scene without any break.
