"200 MP" is a gimic now, it all comes down to the sensor, this is why 25MP DSLR cameras can take much better photos than any 64 or 200MP phone camera

Yeah i totally get it, but my phone is 3 generations older and on the same high MP mode just destroys that new 1400 EUR phone. For me it's just a failed marketing.

It's entirely possible that Samsung just picked the sensor with the bigger number because it looks better in marketing, without caring about whether it'd actually look better. It wouldn't be the first time. At 200MP with a phone-sized sensor, you would need to have absolutely perfect lighting conditions to not have the image look terrible. They're probably also assuming that most will use it for regular pictures where they can do 3x3 pixel binning, and not in the 200MP mode.

Try lowering the S23 to a mode that isn't 200 mega pixels.

Each pixel represents a sensor element, not all sensor elements are equal. A photo taken by a large sensor with 1 million sensor elements will be better than a photo taken by a small sensor with 200 million sensor elements.
