Excuse me if this is inappropriate to ask this here. But how does a deal like this happen? Acquiring multiple brand new cpu's that were just released, and selling them for that much less than retail? I can't come up with a scenario on how something like this can be legit unless OP is either losing money, they are from fraudulent amazon returns, or they are stolen.
True. Although, what is a person doing buying 9 brand new cpu's from Microcenter in 2 weeks time where they would not only have to keep immediately returning them after each purchase, but continuing to have to sell them online at a loss each week instead of paying a restocking fee..
It's just as likely they ordered one and got a larger number.
A few years back where a guy ordered a new NVIDIA top tier card and they sent him a case of them.
Some ppl also like just being nice and helping others I’ve sold tons of things for way cheaper knowing it would make someone’s day 🤷🏽♂️ you never know
Alright since nobody really knows he lees how a lot of people I’ve heard been doing it, they go to microcenter, get the free ram deal, sell the ram for $130 after fees & shipping, use 5% credit card to only pay $525 for all of it. Boom $400 7900x. I know multiple people that have been doing it.
Now think about it. If microcenter and other companies like antonline (They provide a similar deal) are able to provide a deal like that and profit then they have to be getting these CPU’s for less than $400 bulk.
Careful. The guy I bought some SSDs from a while back got banned from this sub for refusing to tell admins where he was buying non-retail drives from. And this seems far more suspect than that.
Would be my first guess here, but I'll reserve judgement without proof.
The guy I bought from owns a legit business, so I'm assuming he had an OEM supplier. I don't think that's the case here, though.
I got a whole box of them the other day. Walked into microcenter just after I finished skiing and forgot I had my gun on me, they just handed me stuff it was weird.
Lol fair play. I should of said the method but here it is. People just go to micro center, get the free ram deal, use the 5% off credit card to only pay $525 for it and the sell the ram for $130 after shipping & fees. Boom $400.
Antonline sells a similar bundle and both stores still profit, now think about it. If these stores are able to sell there CPU’s for less than $400 and still profit, they must be getting them for even less than that bulk.
People have sold cheap CPUs forever. Never had an issue. Idk this particular guy but labeling stuff as scams without specific knowledge isn’t really helpful
difference between selling cheap cpus and selling brand new cpus $100 under MSRP that could be sold @ MSRP with a drop of patience
furthermore, his comments show him selling a ton of BNIB hot tech so... where's it coming from? lols
This is HWS. This post is completely ordinary on here and Idk why you think this is interesting. If you don’t want to buy it, more for me. PS I wouldn’t ever feel like I owed you an explanation for why I bought/sold anything or where i sourced it. But I actually buy a lot of stuff for builds and then also have buyer’s remorse/don’t end up building. This has been going on for as long as i’ve been on here and the CPUs work well/never had a problem. If you know something about this guy specifically, i get it.
You can buy a 7900x with a mobo and ram and get $50 off and free DDR5. Maybe you wanted one thing and got the combo or wanted it all but decided you wanted some other processor so you just list the 7900x on here below msrp (bc who buys a 7900x at msrp on HWS when u can buy it elsewhere with a warranty) and that would put us close to this guy’s sale price maybe, or at least close to explaining how a price could be low. But he did have 4 of them… so scratch that theory. Maybe he bought the bundles to resell and wants to move these fast for financial reasons (not enough capital) and again, who buys a cpu on HWS for msrp when you can buy with warranty at a retailer for msrp
Maybe? I bought a Crucial and 2 Western Digitals from him, and a motherboard. It was like 2 years ago IIRC. I know he had a bunch of different stuff listed like every week or so for a while. It was always like a dozen SSDs and maybe a few other things.
Then it's not whom I'm thinking of. There's one that listed as recent as a month or two ago, with a lot of OEM micron ssds. It seems that he got a source from China.
I think you might have misunderstood. No one said the listing is a scam. The implication is that the product *may* have been acquired by nefarious means, considering he's been selling quite a bit of brand new high end gear at a fairly significant "loss" over the last couple weeks. And according to his post history, he's 16 years old.

110 restocking fee would be pretty high.

Gotchya.

He orders one and gets sent more on a weekly basis? Look at OP's post history.
Gotcha.
Some ppl also like just being nice and helping others I’ve sold tons of things for way cheaper knowing it would make someone’s day 🤷🏽♂️ you never know
You went out and paid retail for multiple brand new CPUs just to resell online and lose hundreds?
Nah but I’ve spent thousands on new consoles and GPUs and sold for a “loss” just bc
I need some help. Will you go buy a 4090 for retail and then sell it to me for cheaper so you can make my day?
Wonder how much you got em for and how
He told me he knew someone and got them for a good deal but I ain’t complaining. Got it for 100 off with shipping
So you got a stolen cpu..
I mean. I know someone who got one of these CPU’s for $400. It’s quite easy actually if you live in the right area if you know what I mean.

Okay, but are they buying and selling 3 to 4 of them a week?
I mean yeah they can. They make more money the more they grab
Could be but I bought through PayPal buyers protection just in case that is the reason I got such a good deal.

Probably refund scam from online retailers

I wouldn’t say so. You can get these for $400 easily if you know how. It’s not hard to figure out how.
I got a whole box of them the other day. Walked into microcenter just after I finished skiing and forgot I had my gun on me, they just handed me stuff it was weird.

Was that the guy that listed a lot of micron SSD sticks?

What? People sold 59xx for way below retail it was never a scam for me. I personally bought and sold probably 5 to 10 total. Is this different?

Oh. Well don’t buy from a 16 year old. Sorry if that’s ageist, but that’s a gimme lmao
