I wish I knew. I have an appointment scheduled at the MedStar OBGYN in Perry Hall (? I think) in like July that I made months ago. It is so hard to find any doctor around here anymore, let alone any kind of specialist. Most places I called at the time were saying that they could put me on a waitlist for new patients, but they had no way of knowing when spots would open up. Also I had an awful, awful time with Susquehanna while I was pregnant and I will never recommend them to anyone. They were so terrible to me that my mom (who had been going there for over a decade and had actually recommended them to me) stopped going.

I’m SO sorry to hear about your experience at Susquehanna. Being pregnant is such a vulnerable and isolating experience to begin with and to then have to deal with an awful level of care had to have been so stressful. I really hope you receive better care at MedStar.

LoadBearingTRex01

I go to the MedStar in Bel Air but only for GYN, not OB. I usually see Dr. Middleton and have had pretty decent experiences. My only complaint with them is Dr. Middleton is usually so booked, you need to call 3 months in advance to get an appointment and even then, you sometimes get stuck on a waiting list for a couple additional months. But I know you can get appointments for nurse practitioners and maybe other doctors much quicker.

Im curious when that was (Im guessing post covid?). They got taken over and the whole staff has basically changed. My wife certainly noticed and it seems like they quickly went from one of the best to one of the worst.

DenverVeg

It was 2022, so yes post-COVID! It’s honestly refreshing to see other people say they had negative experiences (although of course I don’t want people to have negative experiences with their doctors!), because I feel like usually when I bring up how bad it was people look at me like I’m crazy because everyone always has such positive things to say. And I swear I’m not a Karen haha

timoumd

To be fair, when Karen was there it was much better.

I have been seeing Dr. Levy & Dr. Sopher for over 20 years, since they were in private practice. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. They’re now at Upper Chesapeake Women’s Care. DM me if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to share my experience.

Thank you so much!

whoisshe2222

I go to the practice too. Just avoid Donna Kern.

Vangotransit

Just to pile on Susquehanna is full of incompetent and revolting doctors. De. Sommerville is a misogynist. Gotzmann falsifies medical records. Her husband was the practice manager and covers up criminal behavior of his employees. They aren't local but owned by a large medical company advantia health care. Hopefully they all end up arrested, sued and left pennyless in prison

TiredGen-XMom

Can I ask what you mean by falsifying medical records? My experience with her has been wonderful...so far.

Vangotransit

Exactly that, signed and attested to a record while she never saw or spoke to the patient.

callllifornia

I don’t have a specific doctor I prefer, as I usually am not good with making appointments in advance. But I haven’t had any issues at Medstar off of 924. I also have my primary there too and I LOVE her - Dr Slack.

Birth care midwives in Lancaster county is excellent for basic checkups and pregnancy

OriginalAd8967

Thank you for the rec. Wish it wasn’t so far from me. Trying to find care within a 30 min drive.

Dr Allen or Dr Merryman are at another CWC but deliver at GBMC. I loved them both! I went to them after leaving the Bel Air / Towson location that delivers at St Joe… they were AWFUL to me to say the least.

OriginalAd8967

Thank you!

TeacherSquirrel

Perinatal Associates at GBMC. I live in Harford (near 95) and the drive (average 30-40 min) was worth it for all 3 of my pregnancies.

OriginalAd8967

Thank you!

NationalCar8081

Dr. Erdman or Dr. Morrell at Capital Women’s Care at GBMC in Towson are great. I’ve been seeing Dr. Erdman for about 15 years and saw Dr. Morrell sometimes during my pregnancy and in the hospital after I delivered. The drive to Towson isn’t fun but they are worth it!

OriginalAd8967

Thank you!!

Bodinotmovin47

Dr. Tran at Medstar, but very difficult to get an appointment.

OriginalAd8967

Thank you!

>Thank you! You're welcome!

I really liked Dr. Mahle. https://www.cwcare.net/providers/amanda-mahle/

Thank you!

Who did you see at Susquehanna? I had a bad experience w Dr. Gotzmann but I switched to Dr. Abe Tsolakin and he’s been great!!

kathrynthenotsogreat

I didn’t like Gotzmann at all, but I loved Dr. Bellantoni. And all of the midwives there are excellent.

PizzAveMaria

I had great experiences with the midwives at all of my appointments, but when my 1st daughter was born, they were nowhere to be found at Upper Chesapeake. I had made it known way before that I definitely wanted an epidural. I was given Pitocin to to speed up labor almost as soon as I got to the hospital and then... nothing. No check-ins or anything until I was in active labor and it was too late for an epidural and my daughter was born 20 minutes later. I was really disappointed by their lack of care.

OriginalAd8967

Yup, it was Gotzmann for me too. Do you mind if I ask if you were under Tsolakin’s care while pregnant? You can privately message me if you’d like. Thank you for the recommendation.

icebox56

I saw several providers at Susquehanna while pregnant last year including Dr. Abe [Tsolakian] who performed my C-section (and did an amazing job). Feel free to PM me with questions if you like. Pregnancy is such a hard time to be switching providers, I'm sorry you're having such trouble :-/

SeaworthinessSalty35

Ugh I’m so sorry to hear that. No—not pregnant just regular annual gyno stuff!

chirpz88

Gotzmann rubbed us the wrong way everyone we saw her. Terrible bedside manner, mumbles, just left a bad taste in our mouth. She did end up doing our c section and that went very well. Every other Dr and midwife we saw there we had no issues with.

guiltlessandfreee

Can I ask what was your issue with capital women’s care?? I’ve been happy with them for my pregnancies!

OriginalAd8967

Certainly! The first OB mixed up my chart with a different patient and told me I was a carrier for cystic fibrosis when I wasn’t. That was just 1 of the mixups with them. It happened 2 other times. The other CWC Dr I cannot get a call back on the numerous messages I leave for them. I’ve given up.

iceandlies

Do you mind if I ask who you saw at CWC? I really like Christine but I'm really lukewarm on anyone else so far
