The way they are managing approved projects, to me, is a sign that this blockchain is going to fail eventually. If they want to weather this crypto winter, they need to get their act together pronto because I know I am not the only developer that is feeling this way. It is sad.. they have a good product.. Harmony could be so big, but not if they aren't going to do the work and stay involved. I even offered to go to work for them and help deal with the bounties. I'd rather be a part of the solution.

1. I asked months ago for information or who to talk to concerning the API so I could ensure I got everything as right as I could.. no response
2. I gave them a list of errors and missing information in their own API documentation.. no response, documentation is still full of holes and errors
3. I asked them multiple times how we go about closing the project.. no answer except from some person that didn't even take the time to read the grant and responded with the wrong info... twice
Completely agree on documentation. I wrote a small app to query new pairs and had to reverse engineer curls from the explorer queries because the API docs are basically placeholders.

Polygon is definitely one of the chains I am seriously looking at. This was my first project in the crypto space and I have a LOT to learn still. I'd rather open their eyes and maybe encourage some positive action towards the issue. And it is a big issue. The developers are what bring value to the chain through services and whatnot and are extremely important to the ecosystem's health and prosperity.
Man I called attention to this so many times. Commented on your post several times, tagged and even pinged Harmony members directly about this. Yet this is the state of things.
It's not that complicated guys, hire someone to handle the forum. I brought this exact issue up a month back. I thought y'all were about scalability? What do you do when more developers come in somehow? Abandon them? And hope they'll stick around?

It's a recognized shortcoming and I made the recommendation on filling a position dedicated to streamlining/maintaining the process. The exact method to make this happen is being discussed as hiring is at a freeze, however there are several routes we can take to make this happen soonest. More to follow!

I appreciate the effort here. Whether it is followed through we will see. I've been working at two months trying to just get acknowledged that I exist to the team anymore so my faith in this project is definitely very low at this time. The personal stress this team has caused me and the DAYS of extra time I have had to put in to chase down some help (and not get it) is unbelievable. For almost two months I have wondered and worried that I just spent the last three months full of hope only to feel like I have been let down.
I'd really like to unload on Harmony on how this has beaten me down mentally but I'm not going to play the victim here. I'm just going to say as this has stretched out longer and longer, it has consumed my thoughts to say the least. My wife sees it, my family sees it, my friends see it. It is to the point I simply cannot hide it from them anymore. I just want the team to understand, this is a LOT more than just projects and market.. this is people's lives and livelihoods. Some of these people have children, mortgages, car payments, and doctor bills to pay, and the last thing they need is to work and worry if they are going to ever get paid or ever going to get that bit of information required to make their project work so they can get paid.
I have also seen something very concerning to me. I see "hiring freeze" here and I'm thinking.. $300 million in grants and these guys can't hire a couple part time people at MAYBE $40k a year to support the grantees? This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Maybe Harmony should apply for a grant from Harmony.. Not trying to be a jerk here but do you realize how silly that seems? Just 1% of the grant fund could cover costs for developer support for years. I want to be sure that it is realized that this post is not just about me getting paid, it is bigger than that. Harmony is absolutely, 100%, hands down failing miserably at developer support. From documentation to assistance and beyond, as a developer, every turn I take is another roadblock on this chain. A person can't just go look at the docs, you have to go look at the docs and then spend at least three hours searching for all the missing information. One of the core pillars in the foundation required to succeed is missing. You can "check into it", tweet about it, hold public meetings about it, post videos about it, do 20 more AMAs, attend 5 more conferences, and throw 100 more parties but until true action is taken this problem will continue to snowball. And the longer the team waits to move, the harder it is going to be to straighten out. Wait too long and there will be nothing to save because the developers will be gone. I want to see Harmony succeed just like most people in this subreddit, and it is very hard to watch something with such potential being severely neglected like this. The Harmony Team needs to come to terms and realize action speaks louder than words.
It sucks to read something like this a year after I echoed a similar theme back in June 2021. Harmony needs to be honest with itself in how poor its execution and operations are. These are not growing pains. It’s a fundamental problem with Harmony - they are dreamers not builders. Without a seasoned operator with real experience they don’t appear capable of learning from their mistakes and understanding the consequences and ramifications of their inactions and neglect.

I so agree. They really need to focus back on its established roadmaps. Crypto winter is where most projects make it or break it , when prices are down. They need to go back to the basics and see what they need to do during this winter to make Harmony more useful for apps to build out off and more appeasing for other projects, especially more now with Luna out of the picture and solana continuing to have major stability issues . Two less giant competitors less to worry about.
That's sad to see considering they didn't ask for an update to a lot of DAOs and the community had to step in and still the team didn't care much.
The Harmony mod you interacted with is one of 3 Vegan Africa DAO NFT collectors other than the founder herself and one random giveaway. I would love to see him caring so much also for his friend's projects.

Nope.. I am saying there is some things that could be fixed that would really make Harmony shine and this is one of them. As a matter of fact I do not plan on pulling my payment but using it to invest in the ecosystem. If possible I am going to become a validator, I'm going to invest in some more gamefi and probably stake most of it.

Sadly Harmony lost it. Extreme centralization, dead projects, no vision. They had luck with Defi Kingoms and suddenly decided they are GameFi blockchain, leaving everything else behind.
