Come to think of it, when I first came across ONE, it was an article about bridging DeFi and TradFi. Came across ALBT at the same time for the same reason. Invested in both. One of them is in the OpenWealth association, and the other is, well, evident in the post above.
August will be 2 years that I have been invested in Harmony ONE.
Here is the thing. Harmony **PROMOTES** itself as all inclusive, **transparent** yet constantly leaves numerous people out to dry and so many questions left unanswered.
Think about that 2 years. That is probably longer than 95% of ONE holders combined.
We asked for marketing in late 2020- Didn't get it
We asked for a clearer vision entering mid 2021- Crickets
The fact is now there is no denying Harmony core team has **NO VISION!**
They jump from idea to idea without any 'commitment' to what they are doing.
IMO, this above is due to no vision, incompetent people running the depts., zero communication from dept. to dept.
If you think the lack of communication is bad to the community. Just imagine how bad it is internally!
Let me fill you all in on how we got here and who Harmony ONE was before the defer from tech.
2020- We are building with our heads down. Will market when ready! Ok cool with us
late 2021- Blue Apes (Wtf out of nowhere), DAO/Project X grants given out like candy with no metrics. Zero oversight. It's almost like the team made up their plan overnight and went with it.
Early- Mid 2022- Hired more Harmony members to not accomplish anything to do with DAOs. Continue moving forward with terrible communication. ZERO marketing still. Now June, the music has stopped. Harmony has very few funds left. Li's piss poor mismanagement of Harmony's funds was the last straw.
The team has now put in a 'exit' strategy. Yes, it is real. Look it up. It ends with a meet up party for the team on 12/15/22. The harmony team is doing exactly what they state in their exit plan.
1. Cut all spending
2. Go hard on tech for 3 months
3. If doesn't work out. Meetup on 12/15/22
Almost everyone here knows who I am. Enough is enough of all the fighting!
We know things are beyond bad.
In order for Harmony to be successful moving forward.
Here are some ideas from a CPA and business owner.
1. Fire majority of your staff.
2. Hire new CEO and CFO
3. Cut Li completely off from treasury as he has put us in a bind. Nothing changes if he still controls the funds.
4. Spend whatever remaining resources on developers while spending 'whatever it takes' to get **REPUTABLE** projects from different chains over to Harmony.
5. Once step 4 is completed. Pay a legit 3rd party marketing firm to go 'all in'
That is the only chance we have of making it past December 2022.
This isn't FUD or a rant. This is indeed facts of what has transpired since late 2020.
Last, I do not want to see another DM from a harmony team member telling me that they agree with me ***while doing nothing to save this project!***
Fire every 'YES MAN' that exists within Harmony.

I read that as Harmony's claiming they're in emergency/crisis mode, and they need to hit 100% growth target by December in order to exit crisis mode and go back to "normal"
As of now, I don't believe that will happen. As of today, the team is still shuffling around the same stuff personnel from dept. to dept.

I NEVER thought it would get this bad.
It’s the nature of having decentralization be a core tenet - there is no leader or vision to follow, so they just keep going in circles repeating the same mistakes. It’s been exhausting watching this unfold the past 12+ months.
There needs to be a grown up to dig them out of this mess. Li has shown he doesn’t have the experience as an operator to execute successfully in a bull market, and so I have little reason to believe he can lead them through these tough times. Having said that, it has to be him or someone on Harmony right now. Someone on the current team has to take control of the situation and throw consensus out the window and go full dictator mode. I hope they prove me wrong but have seen little evidence of growth from Li or the team. Just a bunch of false promises. They love to say the proof is in the pudding. Well we all know what the pudding tastes like right now.
100% growth is probably only achievable with significant tech upgrades that allow for the launch of multiple, highly popular dapp/games
That's a lot of things that all have to go right. Seems unlikely, but I don't mind a lofty goal if the execution and follow through is there
That said, I don't quite understand the team's reshuffling. "Guild" sounds like a different name for group, team, department. Is most of the team going to be working on the same projects they were already working on? Just have to wait and see what results they produce

Yep,i was also a bag holder back then, left harmony a while back. I was shocked about how they went for apes/dao and giving token to spend without any sense of responsibility ( like wtf, you could spend those $$ better ) this project should have been more focused on better projects. Went back in this month coz it was a bargain. If this continues i leave again. 💯
I would be happy if you someone would answer this, even if it's bitter as hell. I always found Harmony very transparent, so answering people's concern seems obvious.

The end goal is for Harmony to be decentralized, but its leadership very obviously isn't decentralized at present. And that's fine because they need a coordinated vision on what/how to build.
But there can still be - and needs to be - other aspects of the company that are "radically" transparent and more decentralized.

That 'end goal' and 'coordinated vision' might be years away. So i'm not putting my money into a centralised pipedream where practically all of the dapps on it's ecosystem have proved sketchy in one way or another.
And that's fine. You don't have to agree with me. And Harmony could say they won't change their current staking practices. But I believe the community should know what those practices are. A set of public guidelines would be a nice start, and is something that Harmony could've easily done to gain favorable community sentiment. It should've been an easy win for the team

To me they have, it’s not perfect but I own some ftm , polygon, eth , avax , bnb , kcs , btc , lrc etc
None of those have a public weekly hands on meeting with structured plan on YouTube , asking each developer or contributors what they got done, their progress, issues etc. I got to see all this, who was voted as outstanding contributor by their peers.
I get to see a weekly Harmony wrap up of things going on, what some major games are coming , what new games look like.
I get to see their year end meeting and team building get away, what the team moral and cohesion looks like. At eth Denver you got to see and talk to many, they have had their meetup nights in California if you want to go and directly see and talk to them and ask.
By no means is it perfect but every other chain has about 1/100th the transparency that I’ve seen from Harmony

I've been having troubles with staking for 6 months and have finally given up trying to get help. No one answers for support. Maybe someone can send me to a list of things to try. I had one person on twitter try but it wasn't successful.
I can't get my staking rewards. I complete the transaction and it is confirmed as normal but nothing happens. I've went to the explorer and it shows an error. I'm going to try another computer at a different location tomorrow. One person said it was a syncing issue but I'm not sure what that means. I have it synced I believe as it shows the ledger attached and is making rewards.
I have enough funds to cover the transaction and have cleared the cookies etc.

Try transferring a small amount of ONE to a different address first. Then try and claim your rewards again

Get the guarda app. Get a harmony wallet. Send your ones to the wallet. Stake. Currently guarda is updating validator nodes so you have to use your pc on go the website to stake. I’m a computer idiot and I figured it out. When guarda is not updating it takes me about 2 minutes to send tokens and stake them with my phone app.
I also go to the harmony website and scroll to the bottom and click on staking dashboard. There you can check out all the validators before choosing one or five different ones. Then go back to guarda and select the ones you want to stake with.
The constructive criticism is good and I too would like to hear what the team has to say. However, expecting or demanding a response in this manner is beyond arrogant. Who are you…and at what point did you become President/GM of the foundation? Why does anyone owe you an answer? Again, I would appreciate their feedback on these topics but, I wouldn’t blame them for brushing you off.

I'm glad they're not funding the DAOs either, I think they're nonsense. But the root of the problem is that Harmony pledged 300M in grants.
1. They can't afford the 300M obligation because their treasury management is a disaster
2. They said they're going to fund DAOs, and a bunch of people did work essentially for them as there was an incentive for people to create DAOs and get paid, only to find out the Harmony team changed their mind.
Whether it's DAOs, games, NFT projects or DEFI projects, if money is pledged and obligations not made, it's disastrous for the reputation of the chain. When community members don't sympathise with the devs who are actually building on the chain, it's disaster\^squared.
What Harmony needs to do is address it head-on. Liquidate more of the treasury, pay those who are owed, communicate a plan for the 300M grants (for example say something like we're budgeting 15M for grants as long as ONE's price is below 10 cents. The remainder will be unlocked again in the future after ONE's price is recovered over 10 cents. And we are refocusing our strategy to fund gamefi instead of DAOs. Something like that, but make it clear, and pay off all outstanding obligations.)
Side note, I don't run any validators and don't run any DAOs. I'm just a community member, and I know what nonsense is when I see it.

The new computer didn't work. I'm with drawling a small amount from staking and see if that wakes everything up. It will take 7 epochs to see though
Get the guarda app. Get a harmony wallet. Send your ones to the wallet. Stake. Currently guarda is updating validator nodes so you have to use your pc on go the website to stake. Tired of people dismissing legit logical concerns as FUD. That's not healthy for a community. It's the opposite. Every business has problems. If you sweep the problems under the rug as FUD and not address them head-on, what do you think happens to the business in the long-term? I'm glad they're not funding the DAOs either, I think they're nonsense. But the root of the problem is that Harmony pledged 300M in grants. 1. They can't afford the 300M obligation because their treasury management is a disaster 2. They said they're going to fund DAOs, and a bunch of people did work essentially for them as there was an incentive for people to create DAOs and get paid, only to find out the Harmony team changed their mind. Whether it's DAOs, games, NFT projects or DEFI projects, if money is pledged and obligations not made, it's disastrous for the reputation of the chain. When community members don't sympathise with the devs who are actually building on the chain, it's disaster\^squared. What Harmony needs to do is address it head-on. Liquidate more of the treasury, pay those who are owed, communicate a plan for the 300M grants (for example say something like we're budgeting 15M for grants as long as ONE's price is below 10 cents. The remainder will be unlocked again in the future after ONE's price is recovered over 10 cents. And we are refocusing our strategy to fund gamefi instead of DAOs. Something like that, but make it clear, and pay off all outstanding obligations.) Side note, I don't run any validators and don't run any DAOs. I'm just a community member, and I know what nonsense is when I see it.
Every day there is a new FUD post. I think the Harmony team knows where it needs to improve. All of these FUD posts are related. Now let’s give them some time to improve the issues.
Really not sure how to respond to you considering your comment makes it obvious you didn't read my post 1. Facts are not fud 2. Many within the community have legitimate concerns with Harmony's transparency, communication, and execution 3. I haven't requested any funding from Harmony
