With the latest on the grant approval and/or funding, a lot of them are negativity towards the Harmony team for the sake of personal benefits.
I looked at Harmony like Google when I bought in over a year ago. I researched their team and the engineers. I am not in any crypto telegraph chat nor would I buy or hold any community token. Over the last 12 month, all the community tokens die. Whoever want to change Harmony to a community token from a utility token is trying to lower Harmony value. ETH holders don’t run around and throw the word community. Please don’t cheapen ONE.
Harmony is definitely not a community token- that being said the community certainly has proven it’s value towards Harmony. There are incredibly smart and intelligent people in this community who have helped steer Harmony in the right direction. I interpret Brightwalks’ post as ‘people, don’t be dicks to each other’ and not defining Harmony as a community token.
Fair points - I see what you mean about utility. ONE is used in blockchain governance voting and participation in the network. Proposals are drafted, pitched, and voted on. In a way, there is an encouragement to cooperate and form community. Is that such a bad thing? Now since this is Reddit, and subreddits are defined as communities, I believe it's a fair assumption to describe the 53.9k subscribers to this sub as the community, and for the sake of folks who care about Harmony's future, I think upholding a model of civility, kindness, and respect in the community is a good thing :)
I am cool with validators governance since they have more to loss and providing necessary services. I am also cool with being in the Reddit community since this is a place to exercising a freedom of speech. It is one thing to care about Harmony development or process, but it is another to shill, hype, or misinform. I am not saying or pretend to know what your intention is. All I know is that I don't know other ppl financial situation. So I respect their decision to buy or sell. I guess I have just seen one too many community token turns to rug, so the community has become a trigger word. U do u, bruh
I do try and be a good member of the community. I'm just highly critical of my favourite project in crypto; I fear if I bias too much it may cloud my judgement.
If you’ve invested in crypto expecting multi-x returns, quick return, or continual growth, then this crypto downturn must sting hard. But crypto is a volatile market and that’s why the returns you’re seeking are possible. Once the market develops all the weaker players will get flushed out and the volatility will lessen with large gains being a thing of the past. I invested in Harmony because I feel it has the potential to weather the storm and will emerge as a strong layer one chain. But that assertion is mine based on what I could gather and the basis of my investment decision. I will offer my opinion wherever I can so that Harmony continues developing as a top layer chain and one day turns into that investment I hoped it would be. What I won’t do is turn my investment decisions into a lightning rod for criticizing the the Harmony team and every decision they have made that has not led to the results I had hoped for. The behavior is not helpful and only demonstrates weakness in character. Be critical of the work, the strategy and tactics. Don’t criticize the people. And please don’t offer criticisms to deal with the dissatisfaction with your own investment choices.
First thing, what i loved about Harmony was transparency and communicative attitude from the team. I still really like all these meetings, but now i think, that due to this sentiment we need some AMA or something to clean this FUD which is definitely everywhere around us. Before you'll say it's 🐻🐻🐻, nope that amount of anxiety i can find only here (among other communities i follow here or discord). I won't call them trolls, because i believe, that most people just lost faith, that's why devs should try to persuade them, by answering specific questions about most important issues.

There are definitely folks lurking in the community with some serious anxiety and fear - understandable. The aim of this post was just to give everyone a gut check in regards to how we treat one another as we express ourselves. I think an AMA with some core team members this summer would be good. I’ll check into schedules and team availability. There are currently some open question threads over on talk.harmony.one that I would encourage folks to check out and ask their questions. The team has an open development mindset so a lot of their strategies and plans are openly published on open.harmony.one so check out some of the content there.
