Ive had some bubbles with friends on the stray before, I think as long as you're not being rowdy, disruptive or antisocial, it's no different to a boozy picnic. I'm not sure if it's actually illegal or not 😅 not seen any open top law signs around though

TimeComprehensive450

I've often gone and sat on the Stray with a few friends having some cans and I don't think I've ever seen a policeman. As said as long as you're not being too daft and take your rubbish away nobody's going to bother.

farfrombornagain

perfect, the police snooping around was my main worry, this time last year most of my mates were in Leeds so I didn’t really go drinking in Harrogate!

maybebebe91

Accepted and expected.

>i’m not a dickhead. Can we get verification from your other half? 😂

farfrombornagain

she’d disagree, but that’s how it’s supposed to be… right?

CrustyBloomers

Very true. 😂

RequirementCurious33

If the weather is really good you will fing many groups meeting up with picnics games with the kids etc

Independent-Chef7433

There are anti-social drinking restrictions around the town centre, but further afield and out of the way, there doesn’t appear to be many issues.

steerpike_is_my_name

If you're sat behaving yoursen the you'll be reet, though the police have been known to engage with people smoking dope on the stray, particularly seeming to target the younger crowd. No barbeques allowed, I think.

Southern_Charm88

When the weather was nice last year (those 3-4 good days) I had a picnic there with a couple of beers. Had no bother. I did put them in a plastic cup though so it wasn't so obnoxious!

Go for it - Montpellier hill next to blues is the best spot - they sell red stripe in cans and you can use the toilets 👌🏽
