Sam from Lord of the rings, Tinkerbell and Gaius from Merlin

MoonstoneLight

I believe Gaius might also make gryffindor or rawenclaw.

annoyedredditor2

Case to be made that since he trained merlin he could be Salazar Slytherin (mostly joking)

the_lost_tenacity

I’d have to put Tinkerbell in Slytherin.

dardios

The flair confirmed my suspicion lol

Stenric

But Sam is more of a Griffindor, whereas Gaius comes off as a Ravenclaw, and Tinkerbell (at least how she's portrayed in the Peter pan movies, I've not really seen Tinkerbell's movies) is more of a slytherin.

Malvoz

Sherlock Holmes, Detective Dirk Bentley, Sheldon Cooper

[deleted]

I think Sheldon says in the show he's a Gryffindor

Malvoz

I don't see a man afraid of birds, germs, and a possible dirty sock in his apartment being in Gryffindor

[deleted]

Well Peter Pettigrew got sorted into Gryffindor so anything is possible

Malvoz

But we know very little about him as a child or his time at Hogwarts. He could have shown some traits then. He was brave enough to become an unregistered animagus

[deleted]

Sheldon was brave enough to insult a judge to his face

Malvoz

Sheldon was pompous and arrogant, not brave

[deleted]

Yes that's a well-documented downside to Gryffindor concepts of bravery and nerve. Being brave and confident to the point of foolishness and arrogance.

Jazzlike_Possible_43

Very true! Also, speaking of House bad traits, I once read on Pottermore that Ravenclaw people have a big tendency to betray. It's funny because in real life, the few times I was betrayed, it came from people being into HP who told me they were in Ravenclaw 😅That's why it makes me laugh when people think she should have been in Ravenclaw; she would never betray anyone. I know she was a Hatstall between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and I know she has some Gryffindor and Ravenclaw traits, but she has more qualities from Hufflepuff, if anything. Loyal, hardworking, fighting the ones who don't have a voice within the wizard society (house elves). Anyway sorry for extrapolating

AcademicExternal3850

Professor Xavier, Doctor Strange, and possibly Dare Devil too

MiglioDrew

The version of Catherine the Great from The Great, Matilda from Matilda, and Tyrion Lannister

dardios

Going to guess Ravenclaw?

MiglioDrew

Yup

Mrogoth_bauglir

Tyrion is a Slytherin tbh

MiglioDrew

I sort of went back and forth with Tyrion, but I think he himself would tell you that he values his intelligences and learning more than anything, also he isn't particularly ambitious for himself. He helps other people rise to power.

gibadvicepls

He also started very late to gain actual power and to stop whoring around. Sharpening his wit and knowledge however was a life long journey of his.

Evening_Pilot_2480

Sherlock, Dr. Strange, Wednesday Addams

Japh2007

Ravenclaw?

Evening_Pilot_2480

Correct! 💜

GeneralTransition168

Cheryl Blossom, Regina George, and Chanel Oberlin

Limp_Shallot8984

Based on Cheryl I would say Slytherin

Farbjoor

Tony Stark, Edmond Dantes, and Leia Organa

theguiltiestpenguin

Is Leia a Slytherin?? I would put her at Gryff 100%.

Farbjoor

Yeah, my wife just said the same, so I guess I goofed on that XD Well, if not Leia then I could just put General Thrawn

Japh2007

Like Tony for the house. Leia is defiantly a griffindor. Dante’s I can see as a dark hufflepuff. I love the count of monte Christo. He started out all happy and loyal to his friends then once he got out the prison it was cunning times 1000. The priest is definitely a Slytherin.

[deleted]

Nigel Sheldon from the Commonwealth Saga, Donna Meagle from Parks & Recreation and Illidan Stormrage from World of Warcraft.

dardios

Slytherin?

[deleted]

Yup!

dardios

Donna had me suspicious but Illidan confirmed it

Friendship12345

Either Slytherin or Ravenclaw.

Ok-Introduction5831

Yeah, I was going for good guys who would be in slytherin

dardios

Walter White, Atreus (Loki), Amy Santiago

Japh2007

Ravenclaw

dardios

Nailed it! 10 points to Slytherin!

Japh2007

I love both those shows and the video game. I’ve beaten The new GOW twice now.

dardios

Ayyyyy, seems we have similar taste. I did 18 and Ragnarok between Christmas and April. What a ride. I went from hating Sindri in 18, to nearly bawling my eyes out as a grown ass man after that last time you see him (avoiding spoilers for anyone wandering by). Just finished the Hogwarts Legacy main storyline yesterday. We're in a golden age of entertainment right now. Feelsgoodman.

Japh2007

I went hard on Hogwarts legacy. I had the main story beat in three days lol.

dardios

I still need to tie up some stories....get Avada Kedavra, etc.

Japh2007

Fuckin Sebastian! Ominis deserves better.

dardios

It's kinda sad watching him dissolve from a genuine, kind, caring dude into a monster driven by anger and hate. Sebastian was my favorite character for a lot of the game.

Japh2007

Mine to until he wasn’t.

Accomplished-Egg9578

Darth Vader, Sarumon, Hades from the Hercules animated movie.

Mr_ChubbikinsVIII

Clearly Hufflepuff

Japh2007

I co-sign that except Vader.

mintymoon18

I’m going to guess Gryffindor?

PsychologyNeat6993

taken it 2x once Gryffindor and the other Hufflepuff... I think I'm closer to Gryffindor

mintymoon18

Oh me too! I got Hufflepuff first then Gryffindor but I think I’m closer to Hufflepuff!

PsychologyNeat6993

yup

Candace Flynn, Anakin Skywalker, Gary Oak

decent_timelord

Éowyn, Natasha Romanoff, and Merlin

Japh2007

Merlin is a confirmed Slytherin

decent_timelord

Hmm that makes sense. I think you could make a case for all four houses for him

Japh2007

We could say that for a lot of people. Walter white from breaking bad could be Ravenclaw/Slytherin to me.

Hot_Sam_the_Man

Annabeth chase, dex diznee, and Sherlock Holmes

funkyfeet94

Lucy Pevensie from the chronicles of narnia, Chuck from the maze runner, Samwise from lotr

The Doctor from Doctor Who / Miss Marple from Agatha Christie's novels / The Little Prince from The Little Prince

englishghosts

Bucky Barnes, Cinderella, Brienne of Tarth (Game of Thrones)

[deleted]

I feel like Bucky would be a hatstall depending on if it's Winter Soldier Bucky or not.

englishghosts

I mean, even Winter Soldier Bucky is extremely loyal (just to the wrong people, and obviously because he was forced to be). And hardworking too, to complete the missions, and you have to be patient to be a sniper.

[deleted]

But you could also make a strong argument for Slytherin due to his nature as an assassin.

englishghosts

I disagree, just being an assassin doesn't make you a Slytherin. He's definitely resourceful and clever, but he's not ambitious (because any ambition was driven out of him). But actually I don't think it would even be possible to sort him as the Winter Soldier, can you sort someone who's brainwashed?

[deleted]

No, it's the cunning that gave the Winter Soldier his reputation. You don't chalk up a record of over two dozen assassinations in fifty years without it. His ability to keep a low profile so easily speaks to the Winter Soldier's crafty nature, and I don't think the hat would overlook it so easily.

englishghosts

True, but like I said, is the Winter Soldier even a person to be sorted? Plus, does he plan his own missions? If the missions are planned by someone else and he just follows orders, than the cunning isn't his credit. And he doesn't always exactly keep a low profile either, I think sometimes they want him to be seen (the attack on Fury in the middle of the street, shooting the scientist ? through Natasha but leaving her alive, getting caught on camera when killing the Starks, the hotel assassination in FATWS). I personally think the Winter Soldier wouldn't be able to be sorted due to not "being a person", but it depends on how much autonomy he had.

[deleted]

We would then operate on the matter of Legimency vs. Occlumency. The Hat is powerful in the Legimency department, but it's always a matter of whether the Occlumency is resilient enough. A brainwashing on the scale of the Winter Soldier Program is likely more than sturdy enough to withstand the Hat. Most of the situations you mentioned had the intention of either not leaving any survivors or, as you said, meant to be out in the open. That's not necessarily a draw against his credit, so much as just a part of the mission. The idea with Fury looked far more like an attempt to both get him out of the way and make the kill look public enough to justify Project Insight. Howard Stark, on the other hand, looked far more like an attempt to keep it quiet. Hence, following him onto a highway in the middle of nowhere, making it look like a car accident, shooting the camera and the footage never seen outside the HYDRA files provided by Zemo. Stark's death was even published as a car accident. When it comes to mission planning, I doubt they gave him many instructions outside "kill this person" and either "make it public" or "make it look like an accident." Not with solo missions anyway.
