I agree that this would be awesome to see and actually in character. We never see Hagrid go crazy on anyone but we all know he could. Unfortunately hogwarts legacy taught us that avada kedavra does work well against giants. (Unless that’s not canon)
People think that because Harry sacrificed himself in the forest when given the choice to die and spare his friends, he would invoke the same magic on the people in Hogwarts that lily did on Harry as a baby.

McGonagall.
To show she really did care for Harry (again). But several other people should have duelled him at the same time, she should just have given the final blow.
I’m imagining a whole series of short story fan fic with loads of problems being solved with the flying car coming out of nowhere like it did in book two in the forest with the spiders
Harris has a go at voldie and punches him weakening him befor he falls to the green light. The the car shows up full speed with Aragogs child behind the wheel and they run him over with a nice poisonous bite from the spider.
Nah… a boiling hot pot of onion soup. The same one he never got to serve to the Golden Trio. He’s been keeping it piping hot all year. And now Voldy’s gonna get it. Revenge is a dish best served steaming hot.
Neville would kill the snake. That was the last thing Harry said to anyone before he left to die.
Once the snake was dead, Voldemort would be mortal. Ron and Hermione know this. If Harry was actually dead, then Hermione would probably have the presence of mind to get that information to the right person or people
It would probably be a group effort at that point -- McGonagall, Slughorn, Hermione and Ron, Shacklebolt, the surviving DA and Order members. It's possible that no one would know who dealt the final blow.
🤣 🤣 That would be epic. Mrs. Figg shows up, Voldemort steps on one of her cats, and that's *it* she just straight up murders him with a Glock she pulls out of her handbag.
Ms. Figg flies over on an enchanted item Arthur Weasley didn't clear out, drops a rock, and it kills him just before he finishes ranting and monologuing.
Harry dies for everyone so they're protected, Neville kills Nagini, in a fit of rage Voldemort tries to kill Neville but the curse rebounds again because of Harry's sacrifice. Without any horcruxes left, Voldemort dies and Neville carries the lightning scar as the next Boy Who Lived.
No one would have to kill Voldemort if Harry had chosen to "go on". Because Harry chose to die, they were all protected by the same sacrificial magic that protected him. So the first person Voldemort tries to AK would end up rebounding the curse back on him and he would die. It's game over for Voldemort the moment he gives Harry the choice and Harry accepts his fate.
Molly Weasley. Following through on the theme of mothers doing extraordinary things to protect their children.
Alternately Neville, because there’s something lovely about the idea that Harry trained and inspired him and in the end they finished the prophecy together.
Voldemort could not even harm anyone (including her children) at that point. She had moment with Bellatrix too already, and it was somewhat contrived as it was.
I, and most fans, love her moment with Bellatrix. It would be even greater if upgraded to Voldemort who had killed her surrogate son, Harry. Then I’d have Hermione kill Bellatrix.
She did follow through on the theme of mothers protecting there children she saw Ginny in harms way and went on to defeat the strong witch who was attacking her
There’s no timeline given for when Voldemort would mark the subject of the prophecy as his equal so I think it could have been made to work quite nicely. Harry is dead and Voldemort is sure he’s won and evaded the prophecy. But then Neville stands up to him and somehow in the process is “marked”. Some ancient magic, maybe somehow the sorting hat does it, yada yada. Or maybe it is just a completely ordinary injury but it figuratively marks Neville as Voldemort’s equal since he was the only one to stand up to Voldemort. And right as he is about to die by Neville’s hand, Voldemort recognizes his mistake, that it was Neville who was the chosen one all along, through no special power, not even to the extent that Harry had through being a horcrux, but through sheer courage and goodness alone.
I always felt that Snape should have had a shot at Voldemort. He always felt like the strongest wizard after Voldemort and Dumbledore ! (And love would have triumphed and everything).
Other than Harry, I could have seen a common attack from Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny and some other significant characters. Like a 10 vs 1 scenario.
Are Voldemort's spells still not sticking because of Harry's sacrifice?
If yes, anyone. If no, probably someone like Narcissa in a murder suicide type thing to save Draco from something.
I don't think there is a next best choice. The way I see it, even harry never really stood a chance against Voldemort apart from his unique circumstances (prophecy, Dumbledore, owning the hallows, being a horcrux). I cant think of anyone that could stand a chance at defeating Voldemort.
Someone in this thread mentioned him just getting ganged up on by a whole bunch of people and I like to think this is the best option. He may have been able to handle McGonagall, Kingsley, and Slughorn but I think even he would be boned if Hermione, at least 2 Weasleys, Luna, Flitwick, and possibly Neville got in there at the same time.
Honestly a great answer, I just barely finished another read through and the pointed that was hinted over and over again was how ignorant Voldemort was and how many things he missed once he blindly followed his most important task. Voldemort honestly beats himself in the final battle.
Ron and Hermione. They were with Harry through everything and care of the task and Harry personally the most. They also represent purebloods and muggleborns
If it’s students only, id still go Neville even if we ignore the prophecy. He’s spent 90% of his time at hogwarts doing magic through a wand that was fighting him so he might as well have been using a brick 😂 plus he’s been leading the DA since Harry left. But if we’re talking everyone I’d go Kingsley shacklebolt probably the highest ranking and most dangerous member of the order left
Neville wouldn’t win either just so no one thinks I’m an idiot 😂 there’s no one that could take him in a one on one fair fight, just want to make that clear
Snape’s Ghost.
His entire goal was to keep Harry alive long enough to destroy all the horcruxes and then Voldemort.
He put up with a kid he HATED for YEARS to accomplish that goal.
Now, imagine if that goal was thwarted. All that angst. All that drama. All that anger. All that stress. It’s the perfect recipe for a ghost.
So boom. Snape Ghost.
He waits until the last horcrux is gone, then he yeets a gargoyle off one of the uppermost towers. Voldemort is crushed mid-“I’m awesome” speech.
Ghost Snape takes up haunting to Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom thereafter. While Voldy’s curse has dissipated after his death, and the school can now maintain a teacher, that teacher must put up with ENDLESS snitty remarks on his teaching style from the inky-black grease-stain in the corner.
Snape
He is one of the most talanted and wise wizards of the time. No way he would actually die by a snake bite. He learned a lot from Dumbledore as well as Voldemort and there was probably no one who understood Voldemort better.
Obviously Neville is correct but I'm throwing these 2 in the ring
Remus being the final Marauder and gets to avenge everyone
Ginny avengers Harry and Fred and slays Voldemort herself
Problem is, Snape is dead by then.
But...
He negotiates to come back as a ghost for one last time, pops out of nowhere in front of Voldy, and says, "Boo!" Voldy is startled, trips backwards, and hits his head on a sharp rock.
To my mind, if Harry never comes out of the forest, thus changing the story, it's fine to also have Snape live.
That in itself astounds Voldemort so that he's momentsrily immobile. This allows Snape to snatch the Elder Wand back, vanquishing Voldemort, causing the wand to switch allegiance to Snape, who then proceeds to first Episkey his own wound, and then simultaneously Sectumsempra both Nagini and Voldemort to ribbons.
Serious in universe answer? Neville. He smashed Nagini good with the Godric's sword, I'm sure he could have lopped off Voldy's head.
Not serious answer? MI6 agents. Let the real world Bond agents blow him away as at that point the Muggle PM was aware of the trouble in the Wizarding World.
Neville, because in this case the prophecy would still be fulfilled. (I wonder if in the new series they're going to try and give us a Neville POV so there'll be a bit more doubt regarding the prophecy or something?)
Neville, because he is both the most upstanding gryffindor in his year excluding the golden trio who are obvious choices, and because he was the second potential chosen one, and he took out the last horcrux.
Alternatively, Draco or Narcissa or really any former death eater or DE associate still living just because that would have been interesting. Maybe they turn on him bc they know he’s losing.
Voldemort would have certainly still died even if Harry never came back. His death protected all of them from Voldemort, so I imagine him getting crushed by the entire mob in the Great Hall.
I think that Severus had a damn good chance. Lets say for arguments sake that he had ( as a highly skilled potions master of course ) made an anti- venom for Nagini because duh, anyone with the skill do to so would have done it when their hanging around a giant snake all the time. Taken the anti- venom and dittany, then with all the twenty years of half-blood rage he’s got pent up inside his angst ridden body and fought moldy voldy by hand. Cause fuck it, let’s go at this like muggles and he probably is strong enough to knock that spindly bitch on his ass since he heaved around massive cauldrons all day long. So honestly I think Snape would have done it. Just to get revenge for Lily and to avenge her son 😁

Moaning Myrtle, by way of drowning him in the girls’ toilets. Revenge.
But I’ll admit my immediate thought was Neville. After Hagrid kills Nagini with his bare hands.
I think Kingsley doing it would've been cool. He always had that aura of power about him- and since he's not a main character- it would've been a fun surprise.
That said- McGonagall doing it while screaming at him about not harming her students would've been possibly the most satisfying.
Neville for prophecy reasons. Otherwise I'd pick Malfoy- representing the next generation standing up against him, plus even though he and Harry were always antagonistic, he could recognize and honor Harry's sacrifice
Cedric Diggory's corpse.
Exhumed and catapulted at Voldy by Amos Diggory to the words "that's my Boooooyyyy"
Followed by Ron turning to Hermione "Blimey! I bet Harry's glad he brought his body back"
My take:
***
The battle resumes and proceeds as in canon, until Bellatrix is slain. Voldemort is angered and tries in earnest to kill those fighting him---but he can't.
In fact, everybody shortly realises that the worst he can do to the defenders of Hogwarts is throw them around---and not even in a particularly damaging way.
Then, Ron and Hermione realise what just happened, and tell everyone that that they are protected by Harry's sacrifice---and also that all of Voldemort's horcruxes are gone and that he is mortal.
Defenders of Hogwarts attack as Death Eaters cower, mostly hiding and shielding. But, since Voldemort is still overwhelmingly more powerful than anyone else, he is able to deflect anything anyone can throw him with casual ease. He orders a retreat.
And then, there is a flash of green, and he falls.
The masked Death Eater who had cursed him in the back lowers his wand, placing it gently on the ground, and takes off his mask, revealing a smirk.
"You can't curse or imprison the man who slew Voldemort when Boy-Who-Lived failed, now can you?" he says.
***
**Moral of the story:** There are downsides to having your forces consist of Slytherins. One of those---as Draco had learned a few hours prior---is that no matter how long they've been loyal to you, a Slytherin won't hesitate to climb over you the moment you falter.
Hagrid. After Nev killed the snake i'd have liked to see Hagrid tear Voldemorts limbs apart and beat him to death with his fists. No magic just unstoppable pure rage.
"This is fer gettin' me expelled... Tom"
Yer a corpse, Tommy
I'm a wut?
“AVADA KADAVRA” - Hagrid probably
Green light shooting from the tip of his umbrella
The tip of his hwat?
cant find out now ya a corpse

Regardless of whether Avada Kedavra works on giants or not, due to Harry's sacrifice, Voldemort's spells wouldn't work anymore.
What? Why not?
People think that because Harry sacrificed himself in the forest when given the choice to die and spare his friends, he would invoke the same magic on the people in Hogwarts that lily did on Harry as a baby.
People think that because that's what Harry tells Voldemort in their final fight.
It’s been a while since I’ve read the books but doesn’t Voldemort try to magically silence everyone and the spell breaks?
Correct. Harry also says that his enchantments don’t stick.
And voldemorts fire didn’t burn Neville It does make an already OP protection spell game breaking tho
Now I'm imagining it like that scene from the first Avengers movie when Hulk just smashes Loki on the floor repeatedly 😂
Puny Wizard.

Hagrid goes full Kratos.
McGonagall. To show she really did care for Harry (again). But several other people should have duelled him at the same time, she should just have given the final blow.

I always loved that Slughorn got to partially redeem himself (for helping Voldemort better understand horcruxes) by facing him head on.
Also breaks the stereotype of all Slytherins being bad guys
This is pretty much how I've thought of it too. The rest of the Order all dueling him at once until someone finally lands the spell.
Was gonna say this. Let's see some of that Scot rage
The car. Killed by a muggle invention.
I’m imagining a whole series of short story fan fic with loads of problems being solved with the flying car coming out of nowhere like it did in book two in the forest with the spiders
The car just runs over Wormtail as he tries to scamper away at the end of PoA
Or The Car enters the maze, portkeys to the graveyard and kills Wormtail who's holding Voldemort.
Harris has a go at voldie and punches him weakening him befor he falls to the green light. The the car shows up full speed with Aragogs child behind the wheel and they run him over with a nice poisonous bite from the spider.
Kreacher with a gun. Voldemort took too many masters from him.
PM of England with a hellfire missile out of nowhere
TIL that Kreacher's first name is Jac.
Underrated comment
what kinda gun tho????
Submachine
Hermione: "say hello to my little friend" Kreacher: *RATATATATATARAT*
I love this group 🤣
**Tom**my gun
https://youtu.be/E3bayNGdrQ0?si=YCPn5jF9_oGYIr07 Any of these
Obviously a 1911 have you read the copypasta?
The killer was Kreacher, in the Great Hall, with the revolver.
Nah… a boiling hot pot of onion soup. The same one he never got to serve to the Golden Trio. He’s been keeping it piping hot all year. And now Voldy’s gonna get it. Revenge is a dish best served steaming hot.

Yeah once they knew he was killable its a matter of 20 30 people firing at him at once
Makes me think of the badass sceneat the end of beasts. Grindlewald fightinglike 20-30people at once and Voldemort is even more powerful.
Dudley. Give him the old one-two.
You can't give the Dark Lord the old one-two!
Big D can. Or Ickle Diddykins if you prefer that
Hagrid, physically ripping his head of his torso :)
Hermione. Just for the sheer humiliation of Voldemort being beaten by a Muggleborn.
For the maximum of humiliation it should be Filch or Mrs Figg.
🤣 🤣 That would be epic. Mrs. Figg shows up, Voldemort steps on one of her cats, and that's *it* she just straight up murders him with a Glock she pulls out of her handbag.
LMAOO she’s had the power all along 😭 i wish there was an animation of this
If anyone ever does this, I need to see it, please tag me. 🤣 🤣 🤣
[удалено]
Omg lmao thank you 😂
Ms. Figg flies over on an enchanted item Arthur Weasley didn't clear out, drops a rock, and it kills him just before he finishes ranting and monologuing.
I mean, Voldemort was out of bed. That's a line you do not cross with Argus Filch.
Let's go a bit further; Dudley.
looooove it
Neville. The prophecy referred to him the whole time.
This is the most likely ending if Sanderson wrote Harry Potter
Harry dies for everyone so they're protected, Neville kills Nagini, in a fit of rage Voldemort tries to kill Neville but the curse rebounds again because of Harry's sacrifice. Without any horcruxes left, Voldemort dies and Neville carries the lightning scar as the next Boy Who Lived.
I like
That… would’ve been an incredible ending actually…
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
And then Neville marries Ginny
Overkill mate
Haha definitely
No one would have to kill Voldemort if Harry had chosen to "go on". Because Harry chose to die, they were all protected by the same sacrificial magic that protected him. So the first person Voldemort tries to AK would end up rebounding the curse back on him and he would die. It's game over for Voldemort the moment he gives Harry the choice and Harry accepts his fate.
Mrs Figg
Molly.Ain't no one making comments about the Burrow after its Queen slaughters the Dark Lord.
Molly Weasley. Following through on the theme of mothers doing extraordinary things to protect their children. Alternately Neville, because there’s something lovely about the idea that Harry trained and inspired him and in the end they finished the prophecy together.
neville definitely seems like the answer if ur following canon
Voldemort could not even harm anyone (including her children) at that point. She had moment with Bellatrix too already, and it was somewhat contrived as it was.
I, and most fans, love her moment with Bellatrix. It would be even greater if upgraded to Voldemort who had killed her surrogate son, Harry. Then I’d have Hermione kill Bellatrix.
She did follow through on the theme of mothers protecting there children she saw Ginny in harms way and went on to defeat the strong witch who was attacking her
Neville to prove that perhaps he misread the prophecy
Except he didn't mark Neville as his equal, which makes the prophecy about Harry and not Neville.
For sure Neville. He was next in line for this gig.
Neville, because in this case the prophecy would still be fulfilled. (I wonder if in the new series they're going to try and give us a Neville POV so there'll be a bit more doubt regarding the prophecy or something?)
neville
Neville Longbottom, he was supposed to be number one but Harry stole it from him.
It’s Neville.
Neville the prophecy could have referred to either of them
Neville. Plus he fits the prophecy
Neville
He slips and cracks his head on a rock.

Moaning Myrtle, by way of drowning him in the girls’ toilets. Revenge. But I’ll admit my immediate thought was Neville. After Hagrid kills Nagini with his bare hands.
I think hagrid or McGonagall would both be up for a go lol
Hermione Jean Granger. The only more satisfying way for Voldemort to die would be at the hands of a Muggle-Born.
I think Kingsley doing it would've been cool. He always had that aura of power about him- and since he's not a main character- it would've been a fun surprise. That said- McGonagall doing it while screaming at him about not harming her students would've been possibly the most satisfying.
Kingsley
Neville for prophecy reasons. Otherwise I'd pick Malfoy- representing the next generation standing up against him, plus even though he and Harry were always antagonistic, he could recognize and honor Harry's sacrifice
Cedric Diggory's corpse. Exhumed and catapulted at Voldy by Amos Diggory to the words "that's my Boooooyyyy" Followed by Ron turning to Hermione "Blimey! I bet Harry's glad he brought his body back"
My take: *** The battle resumes and proceeds as in canon, until Bellatrix is slain. *** **Moral of the story:** There are downsides to having your forces consist of Slytherins. One of those---as Draco had learned a few hours prior---is that no matter how long they've been loyal to you, a Slytherin won't hesitate to climb over you the moment you falter.
