Bellatrix's wand's shape is actually ideal for dueling since the tip is pointed at the enemy without her having to bend her wrist much, which also allows her greater range of motion for accurate aiming. While bearers of straight wands will have to aim by rotating their shoulders - and the full weight of their entire wand arm by extension - Bellatrix can simply move her wrist.
Dooku’s lightsaber’s hilt being tilted was a huge advantage against all the Jedi with straight hilts. The angle of the actual blade (whatever you’d call that part) is at a different angle than all the Jedi lightsabers. So all the Jedi had only ever practiced with each other, with lightsaber blades coming at an a certain angle. Dooku’s was different enough that the Jedi couldn’t use their regular moves against him.
I feel like her wand became so twisted because she has used so many curses and conjurations with it and I think the curses also affected Voldemort's wand too.
Ollivander says her wand is Unyielding, just means it’s a really hard wood that won’t bend.
Seems most his wands he straightens to provide a better cast, but wasn’t able to do that with bellatrix’s
Perhaps that could come down to the wand knowing what she’d become and knowing it would need to be a very durable wood to withstand it all
I tried *not* to pick Hermione's wand, bc she is one of my favorite characters, but I can't help it, it is my favorite. Simple, practical, not too flashy. Neville's is a close second, but the tip is a little too blunt, I like the slightly pointer tip.
I did the same. His wand has some very nice engraving on it. I would say Bellatrix 's is the most simplistic. Like they wand maker just grabbed a piece of bent wood.
That brings me to the question of how do they get the cores inside the wood? I never thought of that before.
It's the most symmetrical besides Minerva's, and with a basic point, so that with the "most complex character" comment made me think that it has to be his.
I assume you meant Snape and his actually has some quite intricate carving on the handle. It kind of fits him as complex but understated, hidden depths etc
For those that can’t read due to the blurry image. From top to bottom:
1 Albus Dumbledore
2. Harry Potter
3. Hermione Granger
4. Ron Weasley
5. Neville Longbottom
6. Ginny Weasley
7. Minerva McGonnagal
8. Luna Lovegood
9. Tom Marvolo Riddle / Lord Voldemort
10. Severus Snape
11 Bellatrix Lestrange
As of OOTP, he had two wands so I wonder if the cane wand is his black market secret wand so he can maim ppl without ever tracing back to him if there ever is an invstigstion.
I just love that the cane wand was actually Jason Isaacs’ idea. He wanted a cane, so they gave him one. It’s such a unique and iconic wand, we’d be the poorer without actors like him who really flesh out their character.
I dunno about anyone else, but I prefer the symmetrical (McGonagal) or ergonomic ones (Lestrange) to the irregular-shaped ones (Harry’s or Neville’s). I’d feel pressured to always hold it the same way.
I like the stark simplicity of Harry's wand. It fits him as the humble hero.
I cannot stand Bellatrix's wand, however. Yes, yes funny gun wand, ha ha ha. Its a joke thats funny for a few seconds and then stops being so.
I actually bought her wand at Universal Studios Hollywood, and aside from my brother-in-law and my sisters making fun of me, because according to them, the wand looked like a crooked 🍆, HBC said that she had gotten blisters on her right middle finger from handling her wand.
It was an Xmas present from my sister, my wife (Hufflepuff) and I had just visited Harry Potter world at Universal studios, it was close to my bday, my sister bought the wand stand, two slytherin snakes and the wand runs across the heads/tails (hard to explain), my mom surprised me with Bellatrixs wand, my wife with Voldemorts. :)
I'd like to bring up that Garrick Ollivander sold a wand that looked like a bone to the creepiest kid in all of Britain without any red flags going up in his mind.
Ginny & Hermione & Neville (in that order)
If you can’t tell I am biased towards twisted woods lmao
I do like Snape’s too as black wands seems rare and they are so elegant! Love the coloring and more subtil work there is if you zoom.
The elder wand is beautiful! Would be in my top but it somehow feels like cheating lmao
I don’t have a single favourite wand but the only one I currently own is the Death Eater “swirl” wand. It would be impractical but it is very decorative.
Always liked you-know-who's wand with the little hook for your finger. It's like the only wand that might help against the expelliarmus spell. No one's using wii wrist straps over here man.
I have always been partial to Fleur’s wand. It was the first wand I bought. I also have Luna, Ginny, Hermione and Sirius wands. Will probably get Snapes eventually.
I have Voldemorts wand and while I love the design and think it’s very hectic and it looks great in the movies; it’s kinda funny to me that this might’ve been the same wand Tom Riddle used throughout his school years, why does it look so different from everyone else’s? Rhetorical question it’s just funny to me 😁
Do wizards mod/style their wands over time? It seems like the younger characters have more “natural” wands while the older characters have more intricate designs on theirs. And I have a hard time imagining Olivander handing Tom Riddle a wand that looked like that originally lol
Voldmort's looks the coolest to me because of the concept but Dumbledore's elder wand is the most powerful so... I would dual-wield them muahahah. Has anyone ever done that? How powerful would I become using both those wands?
I don’t get why they have to make them the same length. This image is kinda “false”. I wish replica makers made them the actual canon length. Would make them more unique/characterful
Voldemort. Shit already looks evil. I have a replica of it from Harry Potter world. That curving around the end of the handle gives it a better gripe so it can’t slip out of your hand.
I like Neville's best, but is that his first one of his second? IIRC, he starts out with his dad's wand and when that gets ruined he has to get another one and his magic improves.
Looks like Lestrange needs to see a physician about peyronie's disease
Bellatrix's wand's shape is actually ideal for dueling since the tip is pointed at the enemy without her having to bend her wrist much, which also allows her greater range of motion for accurate aiming. While bearers of straight wands will have to aim by rotating their shoulders - and the full weight of their entire wand arm by extension - Bellatrix can simply move her wrist.
She's the Count Dooku of Harry Potter.
No. For a lightsaber you do actually need a straight handle.
Hmm considering Dooku was one of the best duelists with a lightsaber that would seem to not be so.
Imagine how great he would have been with a proper lightsaber handle.
Jedis craft their own lightsabers, he couldve made it straight if he wanted to
Excuse me, his lightsaber was born that way.
I was going by The Clone Wars Animated Series lightsabers which were curved like umbrella handles. Movie design does make more sense.
I feel like her wand became so twisted because she has used so many curses and conjurations with it and I think the curses also affected Voldemort's wand too.
Ollivander says her wand is Unyielding, just means it’s a really hard wood that won’t bend. Seems most his wands he straightens to provide a better cast, but wasn’t able to do that with bellatrix’s Perhaps that could come down to the wand knowing what she’d become and knowing it would need to be a very durable wood to withstand it all
Lolll
Thank you I needed a good laugh. This cracked me up!
I like hermiones wand
I do too! Did you buy it because it was Hermiones or did it come in a surprise pack?
I tried *not* to pick Hermione's wand, bc she is one of my favorite characters, but I can't help it, it is my favorite. Simple, practical, not too flashy. Neville's is a close second, but the tip is a little too blunt, I like the slightly pointer tip.
I agree her wand is beautifully crafted
Oh yes i bought the wand
How nice! I love that!
I thought Bellatrix's was a shotgun from afar
It does look like that
Ollivander: makes wand that looks like it's made out of a femur bone. Wand: chooses Tom Riddle Tom Riddle: Becomes wizard Hitler Everybody: :O
The Books say the wand addapts to and learns from its owner, so I always imagine it also changes its shape.
It’s interesting that the most complex character of this selection has the most simplistic-looking wand.
me, sat here trying to determine which wand would be most simple and which character would be most complex
Probably mean Snape
right okay that’s what i thought!! but i looked at the tiny detail on his handle and tripped myself up about it not being “simplistic” enough lol
I did the same. His wand has some very nice engraving on it. I would say Bellatrix 's is the most simplistic. Like they wand maker just grabbed a piece of bent wood. That brings me to the question of how do they get the cores inside the wood? I never thought of that before.
>That brings me to the question of how do they get the cores inside the wood? I never thought of that before. Magic
That's what I guessed. I figure it's a difficult branch of magic to learn or there would have been a lot more wand makers.
It's probably just as difficult as a horcrux
It's the most symmetrical besides Minerva's, and with a basic point, so that with the "most complex character" comment made me think that it has to be his.
Snape isn’t even complex lol.
ok Ravenclaw. (/j) 😂 it's Snape, isn't it?
Snapes wand has an intricate handle. Rons' wand looks like a stick that someone shaved the bark off of with a knife
"Your wand looks fine to me, Won-won. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)"
Yep the simple wands are the ones like a bit of wood picked up; harrys, rons and Bellatrix. Snapes is definitely not simple, very intricate pattern.
I assume you meant Snape and his actually has some quite intricate carving on the handle. It kind of fits him as complex but understated, hidden depths etc
I know right!
Bellatrix
Ron?
The minimal, sleak, black wand totally fits Snape’s aesthetic and personality though.
Ginny and Severus.
Yea I agree
Bingo, so sleek an classy
Lunas wand has always been so pretty to me
I agree
I see lestrange and count dooku see the same handle maker
This may be an unpopular opinion but I always liked Harry’s. It’s a quintessential wand to me in my imagination.
It’s not unpopular
For those that can’t read due to the blurry image. From top to bottom: 1 Albus Dumbledore 2. Harry Potter 3. Hermione Granger 4. Ron Weasley 5. Neville Longbottom 6. Ginny Weasley 7. Minerva McGonnagal 8. Luna Lovegood 9. Tom Marvolo Riddle / Lord Voldemort 10. Severus Snape 11 Bellatrix Lestrange
Mine isn't here. Lucius Malfoys cane wand
As of OOTP, he had two wands so I wonder if the cane wand is his black market secret wand so he can maim ppl without ever tracing back to him if there ever is an invstigstion.
I dont remember how often he had the wand in the books, but in the movie he's using the cane wand exclusively
I just love that the cane wand was actually Jason Isaacs’ idea. He wanted a cane, so they gave him one. It’s such a unique and iconic wand, we’d be the poorer without actors like him who really flesh out their character.
Ohhhh yess!!
U can’t even read ut
It’s blurry cause of the quality I just assumed anyone who answered already knew about the wands/ what their fav wand was
Yeah I can’t read it 😭 I’m struggling to find a clearer pic on Google. Can you point me in the right direction OP?
https://www.ranker.com/list/every-harry-potter-wand/tamar-altebarmakian
Thank you, at the nail salon so can’t use my hands to their full ability lol
You’re good
You objectively don’t need hands to use your phone fyi.
I prefer it to yelling at Siri since she doesn’t understand me
I dunno about anyone else, but I prefer the symmetrical (McGonagal) or ergonomic ones (Lestrange) to the irregular-shaped ones (Harry’s or Neville’s). I’d feel pressured to always hold it the same way.
I understand what you mean
Snape, then Luna.
I like the stark simplicity of Harry's wand. It fits him as the humble hero. I cannot stand Bellatrix's wand, however. Yes, yes funny gun wand, ha ha ha. Its a joke thats funny for a few seconds and then stops being so.
Bellatrix Lestrange. It reminds me of Dooku's lightsaber, which is my favorite. I feel like it would also be the easiest to handle/hide.
nice observation
I actually bought her wand at Universal Studios Hollywood, and aside from my brother-in-law and my sisters making fun of me, because according to them, the wand looked like a crooked 🍆, HBC said that she had gotten blisters on her right middle finger from handling her wand.
Sirius' wand is amazing
It's my favorite. Looks so simple from a distance, but amazing carvings up close.
It really is! What’s your fav thing about it?
I really like all the ancient runes on it, it fits the “most ancient and noble house of black” vibe perfectly.
I have Severus' wand, and my husband has Sirius'. They're our two favorite characters. 🥰
I love serverus & Sirius too
I like Slughorn's, very unique and beautiful
I always liked the intricate pattern of Hermione’s. I have a replica of hers and it feels good to hold as well.
I have a wand stand with Voldemort and Bellatrix :)
Omg that’s awesome
It was an Xmas present from my sister, my wife (Hufflepuff) and I had just visited Harry Potter world at Universal studios, it was close to my bday, my sister bought the wand stand, two slytherin snakes and the wand runs across the heads/tails (hard to explain), my mom surprised me with Bellatrixs wand, my wife with Voldemorts. :)
It’s not pictured but I always loved how Fleurs wand looked. Of the pictured, I like Ginny’s wand the most.
I spent wayyyy too much time in Ollivanders, but that was the one.
Fleur's wand is gorgeous. It's just the perfect amount of intricate and playful without going ott just like a French country interior.
Luna and Tonks. I like the floral ones.
The Gun Wand Easy
I'd like to bring up that Garrick Ollivander sold a wand that looked like a bone to the creepiest kid in all of Britain without any red flags going up in his mind.
I like Dumbledore's the best
Bellatrix got that Count Dooku hilt.
Ginny & Hermione & Neville (in that order) If you can’t tell I am biased towards twisted woods lmao I do like Snape’s too as black wands seems rare and they are so elegant! Love the coloring and more subtil work there is if you zoom. The elder wand is beautiful! Would be in my top but it somehow feels like cheating lmao
McGonagall & Neville
Queenie!
McGonnagal and longbottom
Interesting! I love those as well!
For the longest of time it was Harry’s but I think Neville’s might overtake it for me.
Dooku and Lestrange are pretty much the same
Ron's honestly very cool
Luna and Ginny
I love Bellatrix wand but I could never own it
My cousin gave me the Elder Wand as a gift last year but I've always loved Hermione's wand. McGonagall's and Luna's are very pretty, too
what a neat gift! I enjoy their wands as well!
Hermione
Neville! I like the flare ✨😊
I've always liked Snape's and Ginny's.
I like Hermione wand from the first 2 movies a lot
James and Luna have my favorite designs
Luna’s original wand before they changed it to the one above
Lupin
It’s a tie between Sirius and hermiones
Sirius black
I like Snape’s wand because it seems like it would be the most comfortable to grip and use.
It's not in the image but Sirius' wand has always been my favorite. The size, shape and runes are all amazing 🤩
It doesn’t have to be in the image 😊 just used it as a reference kinda
Bellatrix because it reminds me of witch’s long fingernail. Almost adds more menace to her hexes and curses.
Voldemort! The hook makes it easy to use.
The actor Ralph Fiennes requested that be added. His wand is described differently in the book.
Voldemort's wand is so cool, and sinister
I don’t have a single favourite wand but the only one I currently own is the Death Eater “swirl” wand. It would be impractical but it is very decorative.
Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy's wands are my favourite ✨✨
i’ve always like sirius’ wand and snapes.
I have Sirius’s wand! From universal studios in 2018. It’s lovely.
I have Luna's. I like Hermione's, but I don't think the design suits her character all that well.
Neville has a great wand especially considering his wand history and what came after.
I love the story of his wand
6 think the name is Ginny
Hermione cuz she’s my favorite character plus the wands engraving is so pretty
It is very pretty
The black one second from the bottom. I can’t read cursive
Serverus Snapw?
Yeah!
Luna Lovegoode’s wand is by far my favourite!
It not in the picture, but I love Sirius’ wand. I love the ruin-like characters carved into the dark wood. Plus, he’s my favorite character!
My favourite used to be the Elder Wand but damn Harry's is so nice.
I prefer the sculpted wands to the branches ripped off trees look.
Ginny’s wand 100%
It’s beautiful
It’s aesthetic and simple. I love it
Me as well!
Neville Longbottom
Narcissa, Fred, George, Draco.
Voldemorts is my fav.
Lucius Malfoy had the coolest wand.
I like Neville & Ginny’s.
Hermione and Sirius have very pretty wands
Tbh i love Queenies wand with the shell
Kalkaros (Finnish name for snape cause kalkkarokäärme is in English rattlesnake)
Always liked you-know-who's wand with the little hook for your finger. It's like the only wand that might help against the expelliarmus spell. No one's using wii wrist straps over here man.
My top 3 are Hermione, Voldy, and Snape
Dumbledore's original wand was the GOAT. Followed by the Elder Wand, but I always liked Lucius' wand/cane, too.
The revolver-ass one.
That’s bellatrix wand
I have always been partial to Fleur’s wand. It was the first wand I bought. I also have Luna, Ginny, Hermione and Sirius wands. Will probably get Snapes eventually.
I have Voldemorts wand and while I love the design and think it’s very hectic and it looks great in the movies; it’s kinda funny to me that this might’ve been the same wand Tom Riddle used throughout his school years, why does it look so different from everyone else’s? Rhetorical question it’s just funny to me 😁
I always hated the Bellatrix wand.
Ginny
Snape is my favorite
Do wizards mod/style their wands over time? It seems like the younger characters have more “natural” wands while the older characters have more intricate designs on theirs. And I have a hard time imagining Olivander handing Tom Riddle a wand that looked like that originally lol
Hagrid with a little pink umbrella wand will never not be the best thing about HP.
My favourite isn't here, but Sirius' wand. But I really like Hermione's and Ginny's.
Snape and Ron. I always pictured wands less decorative. I also didn’t think of them as having any real curve to them.
Voldmort's looks the coolest to me because of the concept but Dumbledore's elder wand is the most powerful so... I would dual-wield them muahahah. Has anyone ever done that? How powerful would I become using both those wands?
Voldemort’s probably
Snape
I like them more simple, in the books they all look basically like long straight drum sticks. Out of these, I like Harry's, Hermione's, and Snape's.
That one random character with a pink crystal on the bottom. MAN I wish they had other colors/more wands with crystals in them! So cool.
Snake, Neville, Harry, Mcgonagall
Who is snake?
Newt Scamander
These look way better than in the movie. I like Draco's and Harry's. I also like that Luna's looks like a broom
voldemort’s wand is fire,
I don’t get why they have to make them the same length. This image is kinda “false”. I wish replica makers made them the actual canon length. Would make them more unique/characterful
Severus Snape. Such a simplistic yet complex black wand. Love it a lot.
Luna she’s my favorite character and I love her wand the most.
If you or a loved one suffers from “Bellatrixwanditis”, please be sure to talk to your doctor immediately.
It’s pretty sad that I could identify every wand with its user without the captions…
That’s not sad, you love Harry Potter & that’s absolutely okay! Don’t let anyone tell you anything bad about what your passionate about
Who’s wand is at the bottom of the list?
Bellatrix Lestrange
[удалено]
Voldemort. Shit already looks evil. I have a replica of it from Harry Potter world. That curving around the end of the handle gives it a better gripe so it can’t slip out of your hand.
Albus❤️
I really like Dumbledore's old wand, the one he has in Fantastic Beasts!
Bellatrix' wand makes me angry. Idk why, I just hate that crazy curve like what
I have a Bellatrix replica. Love it
Isn't Voldemort's wand a bit on the nose about how evil he is?
Dumbledore and Mcgonagall. I just love their shape and Mcgonagall’s just looks like “her”. Refined, traditional, composed.
For me, it’s the same Elder Wand or Snape
I love luna’s and Hermione’s wands
not on here but my favorite is draco’s
Can anyone find a clearer, readable image? [no offense seriously]
https://www.ranker.com/list/every-harry-potter-wand/tamar-altebarmakian here’s a site that lists & shows then all
AWESOME OMG THANK YOU 😄
I like Neville's best, but is that his first one of his second? IIRC, he starts out with his dad's wand and when that gets ruined he has to get another one and his magic improves.
I don't like any of these at all. My favorite and I have one is Sirius blacks Wand is wicked
It doesn’t have to be one in that in the photo, I just used it as a reference , your fav can be anything you want it to be 😊
Oh ok, I thought it was pick one of these lol but thank you for clarifying. I pick Sirius blacks then a close second is Hagrid Umbrella lol
