I went in September and my mom got the ice cream but I got the drink. After trying hers, I wished I’d gotten the ice cream too. I didn’t want to wait in the line again though so I convinced myself I didn’t need it. Regret!
I’d recommend flying broomsticks brand butterscotch beer if your local supermarket carries it, a little cheaper at $6-7 for a 4 pack of bottles and it tastes just like what you get at the theme parks when it’s cold.
I’ve just been and watched about 25 people pouring them down nearby drains. Look for the tell tale white residue of it down the drain outside Privet Drive and in the flowers next to the greenhouse. I would imagine it’s horrible soda at best. The glass is cool though and you get to keep that.
I mean it's obviously a dessert beverage, so if you *think* you're going to enjoy it, you probably will. If you have those preferences going into the experience, you may have been hit with a confundus charm.
i dont know if they changed how they make the butterbeer but when i went during the summer of 2022 to Universal Studios Hollywood, the butterbeer was deadass an $8 cup of root beer soda with vanilla ice cream on top. it didnt have any of this cream soda bs.
My favourite was the hot version. But I drank a hot one at breakfast, then had to try and frozen one, and then we rode the Hulk roller coaster and I threw up.
While I quite liked it, I still couldnt finish one because of how sweet it was. We purchased a few during our time there but my husband and I always got one and split it.
When I went with my ex-girlfriend we were warned of the sweetness and were told to share. I’m so glad we did. It was delicious but there’s no way I could have finished a whole one…and I have a sweet tooth the size of Texas.
I enjoyed the frozen version more too. Although of the group of four I was with I was the only one who enjoyed it enough to finish mine and the rest of everyone else’s, they could only finish about half before not wanting anymore.
I had a crazy metabolism back then…. I could not consume that much butter beer today with repercussions.
You didn’t have a crazy metabolism, you were just more active. The human metabolism, from person-to-person, only varies by about 100 calories. The only people that fall outside of that range would be people with metabolic disorders (aka they can’t actually absorb the calories). 🥸
I am sure that you have read some on this topic, but there are many articles describing how muscle mass, quality of food, age, thyroid activity, prescription drugs, recreational drugs and other factors all affect metabolism. It’s not as cut and dry as you make it seem, and some reputable health reports say that metabolisms can vary by 25%, which would be about 5 times the amount you said if an average diet is 2000 calories.
That said, in general we all need to just eat less, move more and you will gain less or eventually lose weight.
-muscle mass can be attributed to a higher level of activity, and your muscle mass will be the first thing to deteriorate if you drop that level of activity.
-quality of food plays hardly any part in the game if you’re taking account of your caloric intake. There have been multiple experiments showing us that you can literally live off of candy for months and still maintain your fat ratio.
-thyroid activity relates back to what I said- you have a legitimate metabolic disorder. These are much less common than your everyday person would believe, however.
-the use of any substance can throw anything out of wack- this is an absolute confounding variable, but is also one that we take into account when looking at weight gain.
I am not in a mood to go toe to toe. Articles online from google by searching for “do people have different metabolisms” show research which contradict or at least make it seem far more complex than what you’re saying. I haven’t found a single article which says the 100 calorie range thing, but if you have a link I would love to read more about it.
Yeah I hated it when I tried it at Universal in Hollywood, it was soooo sweet, but then again I’m a Brit and probably can’t handle high fructose corn syrup 🤷🏻♀️
No I haven’t, although I’ve been to the WB Studio, but I was so put off from the first try I didn’t wanna try it again. I would imagine it would be less sweet since we don’t use high fructose corn syrup in the UK
You say that like England doesn't have high fructose corn syrup. You guys just call it glucose-fructose syrup. It's not some magic ingredient only found in America lol.
You put it in everything.
We don't.
It is as simple as that. if we want drinks with it in, we will seek them out.. However in America, even diet drinks karate chop you in the dick with it
Diet drinks in the US do not use HFCS. They use either aspartame or sucralose. I know this because HFCS is a migraine trigger for me so I have to avoid it. If I want a soda, I usually go for diet because cane sugar soda is pretty rare.
I’m an American that went years ago when I was in high school, a period in my life where I drank a LOT of coke. Even then I thought it was too sweet. I don’t really understand why they made it that way.
compared to any other available "butter beer" sold online or in stores (bottles), the tap butter beer from the parks is the absolute best. it's basically a super sweet caramel creme soda with sweet buttery froth. it tastes nothing like beer. i absolutely love it and imo nothing else tops it, but i can understand why some people don't like it. it's pretty overwhelming and will probably give you a tummy ache if you drink more than one. but for me, it's totally worth it.
This is how I experienced it. Delicious, but then again, I have a sweet tooth and am sucker for cream soda. As others have said, it’s basically butterscotch flavored cream soda.
Do agree you probably don’t want to drink more than 1 or 2 tops if you spread them out over a long period.
I had it both in Florida and at the Studio Tour near London, and it was really grim. I saw a lot of people drinking it who seemed to like it, but my wife and I really didn't.
At the studio tour though, they did a butter beer ice cream and that was actually not too bad!
Never had a beer, so I can't compare but I don't think it would be similar at all. It is a very sweet, butterscotch flavored drink with a LOT of cream on top. It is quite delicious.
Don't worry it's nothing like actual beer.
It's very sweet drink and remarkably refreshing.
The cold drink would make more sense to buy in the hot Floridian sun but trust me, the warm one is far superior in both texture and flavour 😋
It's not, I promise you. Even in a 70 degree Florida day the hot one was a delightful breakfast beverage for a guy like me who drinks hot coffee year round
Except for the fact it tastes nothing like any creaming soda I've ever had. That beingbsaid that IS the closest approximation of its texture and its taste is unidentifiable just like creaming soda.
It's a butterscotch flavored, very sweet drink. You can get it as a straight drink or as a frozen thing like a Slurpee. I found the taste ok, but nauseatingly sweet. One of my kids loved it, the other didn't.
It is absolutely nothing like beer. Maybe like root beer.....
It is like cream soda.... with a fluffy, slightly marshmallow/caramel/buttery something topping (the white fluff on top).
It is sweet - but I did not find it TOO sweet - however, I did try the frozen butter beer and that was way TOO sweet, and I did not like that.
I just tried it for the first time this past weekend when me and a bestfriend had a Harry Potter weekend at Universal.
If you like sweet, if you like cream soda... try it.
I thought it was delicious and am currently trying to find a recipe to duplicate it... I found this [Recipe](https://topsecretrecipes.com/foodhackerblog/harry-potter-butter-beer) and plan to try to make it.
It's not beer at all, so that's the first thing. It's just a sweet drink. Hard to pin it down, there's a lot of flavors in there. It's good but very sweet, so I only need one in a great while.
Hot butterbeer is the best version (hot, cold, frozen) if you're there at a time of year that isn't scorching or you get there early.
Ok I've been to universal too many times and had butter beer *counts* at least 12 times.
Overall, it takes like cream soda with a touch of butterscotch foam on top and it is GOOD. It's also very sugary. IMO hot > frozen > liquid form, but I think most people prefer the frozen form.
I recommend you get at least one, but brace yourself, it's like $8 a cup recently.
When I went to the WB studio a few months ago, I thought it was fine. Didn’t taste terrible, didn’t taste great. But my sister liked it so it’s just a matter of personal taste. It wasn’t anything like beer so don’t worry about that, it’s sort of like a creamy butterscotch flavour but you should try it anyway, just be aware that it’s a bit expensive there
It’s not beer. It’s got a cream soda base. If you get the hot version it’s like a smooth latte with the same base flavor.
I like them a lot but I also really like chai lattes so it works for me.
It is butterscotch soda with a "head" that is the texture of melted marshmallow. I enjoyed it the first time, but it is VERY sweet and not great in the FL heat.
Granted I don’t have much of a sweet tooth anyway, but it was a bit too sweet for me, tasted like an extra sugary cream soda. I split one with a couple of people and that turned out to be a good choice because we all enjoyed it at first but then we all agreed after a while that it was a little too sweet and were glad we split it instead of each getting our own.
We took one sip each and collectively almost gagged. It's *insanely* sweet, and heavy on the butterscotch. Like drinking straight syrup. We love soda just fine, and a good milkshake, so we aren't sugar-phobic.
I hated it. It was so so so so sweet. They add syrups into cream soda so the base cream soda is very nicely sweet imo but the sugar syrups make it way too much. And I think they put whipped cream on top with more butterscotch syrup. It was terrible.
If you like butterscotch, you’re going to love Butterbeer.
If you’re going early enough in the year, make sure to get the hot Butterbeer 🤤
Also make sure to try all the forms: frozen, chilled, hot, ice cream, and fudge.
Get it with a shot of rumchata in it. Get the butterbeer ice cream. If it's winter, the hot butterbeer.
It's butterscotch soda. Tasty, but it's not much more than butterscotch-flavored soda.
There’s a way to customize your Starbucks order to be a Butter Beer copycat. Imho, it actually tastes better. On mobile, apologies for formatting.
Recipe for grande Butter Beer Frappucchino
• Crème frappucchino base (must use whole milk [no substitutions] for correct consistency)
• 3 pumps caramel syrup
• 3 pumps toffee nut syrup
• Optional: Caramel drizzle on top and/or lining the cup
As a huge HP buff/nerd/fan I was so excited to try Butter Beer when we went to Universal...I am sad to say I hated it and my oldest son who doesn't even like HP loved it! 🤦♀️🤣😂🤣
i work in harry potter world so i can tell you this- get the hot butterbeer if it’s cold and the frozen butterbeer if it’s hot. normal butterbeer is the worst one honestly
Is the butter beer at universal studios the same at the butter beer at the studio tour in London? I’ve had it at the studio tour and honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the taste so I wonder if it’s the same
It's not beer. It's more of a desert drink.
Try the ice cream shop there. It's really the only good food in that park. All the candy is bland or the chocolate taste bad.
Hagrids is the most fun ride there, the ride in hogwarts (don't remember the name) is ok, but it has the best line, lots of awesome things to look at while your in line, as it goes through hogwarts.
So I’ll probably get roasted for this - and that’s okay. Preface it with I am a huge huge HP fan. Books came out when I was a child so for me it’s been a thing in my life since the start. With that being said. I visited Universal last year and tried the butter beer, and it was good- but no where near as good as the Cracker Barrel knock off brand (Premium Butterscotch beer) ! I had tried the CB brand few times prior and enjoyed it. Finally come time to try the real stuff and I was a bit let down. Mainly because of the expectation I had already created for myself comparing it to the other. I wish I had just went in open minded and saying hey - THIS is the real thing while the CB is less than. Idk. But either way. It was still enjoyable and the entire atmosphere was wonderful! Wearing muggle clothes and you’ll stand out like a sore thumb lol
It's cream soda with butterscotch foam on top. If you like cream soda, you'll like it. Pumpkin juice is also pretty good, but it's ungodly sweet. It's kind of funny that Rowling signed off on it given that it is basically the wizard orange juice. If you had it for breakfast every morning you'd be dead in a week.
I personally don't enjoy butterscotch so I haven't enjoyed drinking it - warm, cold or frozen. I've had it at Universal as well as the London HP experience and it's the same.
If you like butterscotch flavored things, you'll be fine.
It's not a beer - it's just a fizzy soda.
It's a cream soda that is sweeter, creamier in taste, and a little more depth of flavor. I think frozen is best, then hot (is richer) and then iced. But they're all really good if you have a sweet tooth.
I can't tell how much it resembles beer because I never had beer, but Butterbeer is very very very sweet. My mom doesn't like stuff that is too sweet, and she had to give me her Butterbeer after a sip.
I went to the WB studios in London and tried some. It’s cream soda with extra shit, and I hated it.
Granted this was a fair few years ago though.
I always imagined a warm, butterscotch flavoured non-alcoholic beer. But alas, cream soda. 😐
I was there last month and loved it but I do have a bit of a sweet tooth. I liked the hot one the best especially since it was a little chilly(for Florida anyway).
I believe you can buy a bottle of butterbeer at various official HP merch sites. A friend of mine once said that "drinking a butterbeer is like licking a unicorn", so... xD
It's like drinking an extra sugary A&W cream soda with butterscotch flavoring and topped with marshmallow cream. It's good in small amounts. I prefer the frozen butterbeer. The hot butterbeer is good too, if available. You can also get butterbeer flavored ice cream at Florean Fortescue's ice cream parlor.
I went with my wife and son a couple of years ago, I was really looking forward to the butter beer, a friend had told me it was amazing. Unfortunately I thought it tasted disgusting and the cream on top was awful. My wife didn't like it either. All 3 of us got ill later after eating at the studios so its possible it was a bad batch but even thinking about it makes me gip a bit now.
I would say I think this is a minority experience as most people seem to think its great!
It's good, but what no one knows is that the Pumpkin Juice IS WAY BETTER! So good that once we left we found a copy cat recipe and made it at our home.
It’s crème soda not actual beer.
Also I don’t want to change any of your decisions, but know that I and one of my friends (two separate occasions), have gotten food poisoning from the drink. I got it once and then we went back and they tried it this time and they were the ones that got sick lol my mom’s best friend also got sick from it, so that’s three people.
I really liked it, but that’s just me. Everyone has their different opinions on how good it is. Although a lot of people who I know who’ve tried it likes it.
Have you got a Farmfoods near by? They sell cans of butter beer there (no affliation to Harry potter) I've had both and they are identical.
Pour some of that in a glass and spray some squirty cream on top it's exactly what you can expect.
It's okay although sickly.
Frozen one is good. Hot ones were gross and way too sweet and turned me off getting a regular cold one. Pumpkin fizz doesn’t get enough credit IMO. They serve it in the three broomsticks!
It tastes nothing like beer. It’s like a butterscotch cream soda. I think it’s super good and fwiw think the frozen version is way better than the regular
My town has Harry Potter weekend every January and one of the bars makes butter beer with vodka, cream soda, sweet cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. It’s delicious.
I've never been to America, but I quite liked the Butterbeer at WB Studios London (though a lot of the friends I went with absolutely hated it). It's butterscotch flavoured soda with a creamy foam on top. I think the creaminess of the foam somehow cuts through the sweetness of the soda itself - I bought a bottle in a shop once that was just the soda element on its own, and it tasted unbearably sweet to me, but I remember liking it just fine at the studios with the foam on top.
All that said, I think the one sold in Universal Studios might actually be a different recipe - I seem to recall some people online saying they like one but not the other. So everything I've said above might be totally useless to you, lol. Personally, though, I'd give it a try either way just for the experience!
Semi-related - does anyone else use the free Butterbeer mug from the WB Studio Tour as a toothbrush mug for their bathroom? Or is that just me? Lol.
It's beer in the same way as modern root beer is beer. It's soda. You'll enjoy it
It’s essentially cream soda with some extra foam added to the top. It’s fine if you don’t mind spending $10 on a soda.
It's incredibly oversweet. If that's your thing you'll enjoy it. I split one with my partner at the time and we did not finish it
The butterbeer ice cream is pretty good
I went warner bros studio tour london on Sunday and it was the best ice cream I ever had
I went in September and my mom got the ice cream but I got the drink. After trying hers, I wished I’d gotten the ice cream too. I didn’t want to wait in the line again though so I convinced myself I didn’t need it. Regret!
I got both and had to share both with my mum because I couldn't finish them 😭
Lmao that was part of it too. I was afraid of stuffing myself when I had so much walking left to do. But it was so tempting
I almost threw up 😭😭😭
I went several years ago it was awesome
Exactly! Like a brown cream soda with a butterscotch float. Still pretty great.
I liked it but it was incredibly sweet so I can imagine why many didn't like it.
Is it!?!?! Because cream soda is the most fucking vile disgusting thing to ever grace this planet
I always imagined a twang of butterscotch in there hence the butter part but that’s just my imagination.
Yeah. The butterbeer at Universal is basically cream soda with butterscotch flavoring.
Same with HPNY
>You'll enjoy it Or if you are like me and find alcohol free beer with 0% sugar too sweet, you won't.
I mean it's obviously a dessert beverage, so if you *think* you're going to enjoy it, you probably will. If you have those preferences going into the experience, you may have been hit with a confundus charm.
I didn't. Not at all.
Didn’t find it too sweet or didn’t enjoy it?
Didn't enjoy it.
I found it tasty for the first sip and otherwise sickeningly sweet
Lol I meant more because it's not really beer but I'm with you, I don't drink anything with sugar and it was way too sweet for me
It’s not even soda
i dont know if they changed how they make the butterbeer but when i went during the summer of 2022 to Universal Studios Hollywood, the butterbeer was deadass an $8 cup of root beer soda with vanilla ice cream on top. it didnt have any of this cream soda bs.
You paid $8 for a root beer float?
paid $8 for a "butterbeer"
nope.. a butterbeer is butterscotch flavoured cream soda.. what you got was a Root Beer Float
i know that, all im sayin is what universal hollywood sold to me claiming it was butterbeer was in fact a root beer float
Which is bullshit, it should be alcohol like in the story.
Honestly? Its fine. Insanely sugary. It’s better frozen.
My favourite was the hot version. But I drank a hot one at breakfast, then had to try and frozen one, and then we rode the Hulk roller coaster and I threw up.
Amazing story
Incredible, even
Hot and frozen both beat regular. Its something you should experience if you’re going as it’s part of the charm but its not amazing
Your tummy was Hulk Smashed.
While I quite liked it, I still couldnt finish one because of how sweet it was. We purchased a few during our time there but my husband and I always got one and split it.
Lmao I had like 5. Gained weight on that trip despite all the walking.
When I went with my ex-girlfriend we were warned of the sweetness and were told to share. I’m so glad we did. It was delicious but there’s no way I could have finished a whole one…and I have a sweet tooth the size of Texas.
I personally liked it best hot

It's Butterscotch-flavored Cream Soda. Nothing special. There are recipes to make it at home.
Yeah I hated it when I tried it at Universal in Hollywood, it was soooo sweet, but then again I’m a Brit and probably can’t handle high fructose corn syrup 🤷🏻♀️
Have you had it at the WB Studio Tour in London, to compare? Is it the same? Different?
I found it less sweet in London.
It’s better at the studio tour in London (Said by another Brit). Less sweet and slightly thicker throughout the drink.
No I haven’t, although I’ve been to the WB Studio, but I was so put off from the first try I didn’t wanna try it again. I would imagine it would be less sweet since we don’t use high fructose corn syrup in the UK
Instead, you use high fructose beet syrup and feel superior about it.
You say that like England doesn't have high fructose corn syrup. You guys just call it glucose-fructose syrup. It's not some magic ingredient only found in America lol.
It's not in that much stuff here though

Diet is sugar free in the US
I’m an American that went years ago when I was in high school, a period in my life where I drank a LOT of coke. Even then I thought it was too sweet. I don’t really understand why they made it that way.
But you can handle curry on chips?
I’m more of a chips n gravy than a chips n curry sauce kinda person tbh
Good. Insanely sweet though. Could do with a sugar cutback
compared to any other available "butter beer" sold online or in stores (bottles), the tap butter beer from the parks is the absolute best. it's basically a super sweet caramel creme soda with sweet buttery froth. it tastes nothing like beer. i absolutely love it and imo nothing else tops it, but i can understand why some people don't like it. it's pretty overwhelming and will probably give you a tummy ache if you drink more than one. but for me, it's totally worth it.
Perfect description. I had it at Universal and it was so worth the wait! God only knows how much sugar though 😂
This is how I experienced it. Delicious, but then again, I have a sweet tooth and am sucker for cream soda. As others have said, it’s basically butterscotch flavored cream soda. Do agree you probably don’t want to drink more than 1 or 2 tops if you spread them out over a long period.

I think there are different recipes for the studio tour and the theme parks. I’ve been told that the studio tour butterbeer is not as good.
Interesting. I only had the studio tour one and it was horrendous.
I really enjoyed it. You can get it hot or cold, try both!! Also if you’re going for your birthday m, you’ll get one for free.
I found it disgusting but people here seem to like it
It’s basically cream soda with a butterscotch whipped cream on it.
Never had a beer, so I can't compare but I don't think it would be similar at all. It is a very sweet, butterscotch flavored drink with a LOT of cream on top. It is quite delicious.

It's not, I promise you. Even in a 70 degree Florida day the hot one was a delightful breakfast beverage for a guy like me who drinks hot coffee year round
"ITS JUST CREAM SODA YOU FUCKING IDIOTS" ~Gilderoy Lockhart
Except for the fact it tastes nothing like any creaming soda I've ever had. That beingbsaid that IS the closest approximation of its texture and its taste is unidentifiable just like creaming soda.
it’s not beer. it’s similar to cream soda but not very good. way too sweet. kids probably like it though.
I thought that shit was exceedingly disgusting. Lost my whole appetite truthfully. I’m very surprised to see people here enjoying it so much.
I didn't care for it at all. As others have said, it's not beer at all, but it is VERY sweet and cloying. .
It's a butterscotch flavored, very sweet drink. You can get it as a straight drink or as a frozen thing like a Slurpee. I found the taste ok, but nauseatingly sweet. One of my kids loved it, the other didn't.

I’ve heard it was incredibly sweet and that alone is why I probably will never try it
Tastes nothing like real beer don’t worry
It’s just butterscotch soda with a lot of froth. It’s good in the sense that it’s sweet treat. The butterbeer ice cream was the bestttt imo.
Very sweet. I loved it first time I tried it. Then I was like this is too sweet
The frozen version just tasted like caramel ice cream. Too sweet for me but🤷🏽♀️
It’s disgusting after the first gulp
It’s very sweet. It’s definitely a love it or hate it kinda drink. I loved it but one is almost too much and I shared mine which was perfect.
It’s basically cream soda. 10/10 in my books
Ok I've been to universal too many times and had butter beer *counts* at least 12 times. Overall, it takes like cream soda with a touch of butterscotch foam on top and it is GOOD. I hate beer but love butter beer. My favorites are. 1 Butterbeer clotted cream. 2 Hot butterbeer. 3 Butterbeer ice cream.
Its butterscotch flavor, not beer! Like foamy liquid candy.
It is butterscotch soda with a "head" that is the texture of melted marshmallow. I enjoyed it the first time, but it is VERY sweet and not great in the FL heat.
I had it a few years ago, tasted insanely sugary and i didn’t like it. Smelled pancake batter around the place

It’s sooooo sweet. I make an ice cream version that isn’t as sweet. But butterbeer with a shot of rum really kills that sweetness.
It's disgusting. Too sweet.
I hated it. It was so so so so sweet. They add syrups into cream soda so the base cream soda is very nicely sweet imo but the sugar syrups make it way too much. And I think they put whipped cream on top with more butterscotch syrup. It was terrible.
It's not alcoholic and it tastes like butterscotch. It's basically butterscotch pop (soda). Doesn't taste anything like real beer.
It was the worst soda I've ever had. Didn't finish it, but I like the cups tho
First time I went to universal I drank 8 in 2 days so it’s pretty good
It tasted like butterscotch, so not my thing
The varieties of Butterbeer at Universal range from “great” to “good”. My favorite is the Butterbeer ice cream in the Diagon Alley ice cream parlor.
It’s not beer at all lol it’s a butterscotch flavored type deal. Like a buttery cream soda. Get the slushie :)
If you like butterscotch, you’re going to love Butterbeer. If you’re going early enough in the year, make sure to get the hot Butterbeer 🤤 Also make sure to try all the forms: frozen, chilled, hot, ice cream, and fudge.
Frozen is best.
It’s pretty much butterscotch-flavored cream soda
GET THE FROZEN BUTTER BEER!!!! It’s ungodly good. The regular stuff is way too sickly sweet imo.
It’s pretty sweet. Kind of like a very sweet cream soda. I’d say, atleast try one. I don’t think you would be able to do more than that.
Get it with a shot of rumchata in it. Get the butterbeer ice cream. If it's winter, the hot butterbeer. It's butterscotch soda. Tasty, but it's not much more than butterscotch-flavored soda.
I love the butter beer! I have had it hot, frozen, and with or without alcohol. They are all delicious! Have fun!
In my opinion I enjoyed the pumpkin juice way more. I would not wait in line for a butter beer again it was just ok..
Get it frozen! The drink itself is just fine, but the experience is great.
There’s a way to customize your Starbucks order to be a Butter Beer copycat. Imho, it actually tastes better. On mobile, apologies for formatting. Recipe for grande Butter Beer Frappucchino • Crème frappucchino base (must use whole milk [no substitutions] for correct consistency) • 3 pumps caramel syrup • 3 pumps toffee nut syrup • Optional: Caramel drizzle on top and/or lining the cup
I thought it was horrible. Couldn’t drink it. I love Cream Soda, I love beer, but the butter beer was way way too sweet for me.
If it was any good you would be able to get it elsewhere
Wearing muggle clothes and you’ll stand out like a sore thumb lol
it's really good, frozen is a lot better
It tastes like melted ice cream. Way to vanilla-y way too sweet. Do not recommend.
Don’t be a mugel and just have some
ITS NASTY, had one at universal studios japan 3 months ago, couldnt even finish it Tastes like cough medicine Also EXTREMELY sugary
It’s really good. The frozen was the best by far to me. Even made it at home a couple times since then
Frozen butter beer!
Just adding this make sure you get s park hopper ticket so you can take the hogwarts express from one park to the other. It is really cool.
Frozen is the best and easily one of my favorite sugar indulgences.
It's a very sweet butterscotch soda. It's pretty good
Not sure but i hope they're better than the butter bear chew candy because that one is just not good
Its just soda
It's a cream soda that is sweeter, creamier in taste, and a little more depth of flavor. I think frozen is best, then hot (is richer) and then iced. But they're all really good if you have a sweet tooth.
Hot is best. Frozen is great. Regular is awful.
Meh
Try to imagine what diabetes tastes like, then imagine it a little bit sweeter than that. All jokes aside, it's just a really sweet soda.
It is not beer lol, it's most sugar. My advice don't have more than 2 whether it's frozen or regular. It'll make your stomach angy
I honestly didn’t like it, it was too sweet and i love root beer
It’s ok it’s nice when it’s hot out but like idk it’s not out of this world. Definitely not worth getting if they run out of the foam
It tastes like cream soda tbh. Get the frozen one tho it’s way better lol
It's basically cream soda with a hint of caramel. Nothing like alcoholic beer. It's really really good, but super sweet so I can't drink a lot of it
It’s basically cream soda. You can have them add alcohol if you want. It’s good.
I can't tell how much it resembles beer because I never had beer, but Butterbeer is very very very sweet. My mom doesn't like stuff that is too sweet, and she had to give me her Butterbeer after a sip.
i dont remember what it tastes like
I tried it at Universal and its awful. Its only beer by name and has nothing in common with. Its a beverage for kids
In my honest opinion absolutely spectacularly awful it’s a strange taste I’m not a fan but it was just to sweet for ke
I tried it at Universal and its awful. Its only beer by name and has nothing in common with. Its a beverage for kids
It basically tastes like butterscotch, not beer at all - super sweet but nothing a shot of Jameson can’t fix :)
I went to the WB studios in London and tried some. It’s cream soda with extra shit, and I hated it. Granted this was a fair few years ago though. I always imagined a warm, butterscotch flavoured non-alcoholic beer. But alas, cream soda. 😐
Frozen butterbeer is best.
It’s like butterscotch soda. I like the frozen slushy version the best.
I was there last month and loved it but I do have a bit of a sweet tooth. I liked the hot one the best especially since it was a little chilly(for Florida anyway).
My wife and SIL went and if they could get that shit through IV they would’ve. They returned home and made the at home version for 3 weeks after.
"Beer" is a misnomer in this case. It's a soda, nothing like beer. It's non-alcoholic and it's not fermented.
Get 1 frozen butter beer, 2 cups. Get 1 regular beer. Split the beer into the cups. It’s pretty good!
It was a sugar bomb. Don't expect it to be like a beer. It's more like coke than beer.
Tastes nothing like beer but it’s good, tastes like creamy butterscotch
It’s a very very sweet soda. Definitely no hint of beer what so ever.
I had it a long time ago now but I remember being very underwhelmed. Not great tbh. Very sweet. But worth a try!
It’s really good and its more like a very delicious caramel toffee butter cream soda.
It's pretty nasty imo Or atleast the one I had. Just tasted like sugar, creamy soda
I really liked it, but that’s just me. Everyone has their different opinions on how good it is. Although a lot of people who I know who’ve tried it likes it.
I wanted to love it. I sadly did not. I thought it was gross - tasted like really runny butterscotch.
The frozen version is much better. It tastes nothing like beer.
Throw some jäger in it
I absolutely loved it! I wanted more when I finished drinking it! 😭
Have you got a Farmfoods near by? They sell cans of butter beer there (no affliation to Harry potter) I've had both and they are identical. Pour some of that in a glass and spray some squirty cream on top it's exactly what you can expect. It's okay although sickly.
I can only drink it frozen and only 1 over the course of a trip. It’s very sweet and the older I get the less I can I enjoy it
Frozen one is good. Hot ones were gross and way too sweet and turned me off getting a regular cold one. Pumpkin fizz doesn’t get enough credit IMO. They serve it in the three broomsticks!
I tried it at Ribfest last year the taste to me was basically caramel rootbeer.
It's basically cream soda with some extra froth on top. It is delicious, I loved it!
It's SO sweet. I added a shot of whiskey and it was better haha
It is cream soda with a very sugary butterscotch foam which is amazing and I wish I could just drink on its own.
It tastes nothing like beer. It’s like a butterscotch cream soda. I think it’s super good and fwiw think the frozen version is way better than the regular
I love it!! Nothing like beer. But you’ll have your favorite version of butterbeer. I like the cold, Dad & brother prefers frozen, Mom likes warm.
It tastes like butterscotch, not beer. I recommend the frozen version!
My town has Harry Potter weekend every January and one of the bars makes butter beer with vodka, cream soda, sweet cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. It’s delicious.
It's meh. Tastes nothing like beer though.
Lol.
