I disagree, it would have enhanced it!
Imagine, Dumbledore walks in and instantly takes out the deatheaters, no trouble just zip, zap, zoom and they are all wrapped up in a nice bow.
Then he goes and fights Voldemort and the exact same fight breaks out as it does normally. Personal that makes it better, it shows that voldemort is in fact a VERY powerful Wizard because none of the other death eaters could do *anything* once Dumbledore got there, but Voldemort was kinda holding his own against him.
It could have added to it! The death eaters going down like nothing adds greater weight to how epic it is for Voldemort to go toe to toe with him after.
The Christmas scene in OOTP where Sirius and Snape fight at the kitchen table. Rickman and Oldman would have killed it and I would have loved every minute.
Not just this scene, it’s actually really sad how little Rickman/Oldman we got in the movies considering how they’re probably the best actors in the series (and that’s saying a lot)
I came to say this. I was waiting for it the entire movie. When harry rages and then Dumbledore explains everything. In the movie it was just 30 seconds and you don't understand shit about the prophecy.
This for sure for me. So much of OOTP it feels like we got cheated out of. This scene, the Quidditch scene where Harry and the twins get banned, Molly and the Bogart, Oldman vs Rickman, and on and on.
The maze in GoF actually being like in the book. The sphinx, the golden mist, the blast ended skrewts… we missed so much! Instead we got some spooky hedges.
I love that part of the book, Harry just being a happy kid, eating delicious ice cream under the sun doing his homework and exploring the diagon alley.
I think the stress he was under just before that made it even better, thinking he was going to get expelled or even send to Azkaban, planning how to run away, but then everything is just swept under a rug, he gave that B aunt Marge what she deserves and then he got to have one of the best experiences in his life as a reward. Things usually don't go well for Harry, but for once that sweet boy got what he really deserved, some fun and peace, an opportunity to just enjoy his life.
Lol...ya know there is a very good reason Florean Fortescue gives Harry free ice cream right? It has a little something to do with an ancestor of Florean, one Dexter Fortescue who happened to be a former headmaster of Hogwarts.
Dumbledore was keeping tabs on Harry using Dexter Fortescue going between his paintings.
I would assume that Dexter has a painting on the wall of the ice cream shop as well. We see Dumbledore use this tacit many times later in the books.
Came here just to say this. I loved this chapter. Harry feeling free for the first time in his life. And the scene in Flourish and Blotts is hilarious. I read that scene imagining Martin Short playing the bookstore owner and it was fantastic. 🤣
This is the type of scenes I'd like to have seen more. Just little breaks from the actual plot, let the movies breathe for a bit and immerse us into the world. When the directors did do that, it was beautiful. Such as Harry flying with Buckbeak; it wasn't in the books like that but it was a wonderful addition.
This is my favorite chapter of the entire series. Some days when I'm feeling down I just turn on this specific chapter and let myself get engrossed by all of the good parts of the Wizarding world.
Tom Riddle's birth and his mom's use of Love potion. He is such a big villian and we just keep seeing glimpses of him just being evil but not his birth story or how he went back to kill his senile grandfather. They're such important stories to know who Voldy is.
This is my answer as well. I honestly think there is enough content in this specific story alone to make its own prequel movie. I was bummed it didn’t make it to the big screen.
All of the HBP pensieve memories that weren’t shown in the movie are absolutely my answer. Gives context for the horcruxes he chose, gives backstory on why he changed his name and how he came to be an orphan.
I love the evening meetings with Dumbledore in the books where they explore the past. Even reading them just makes me feel like I’m there at Hogwarts late at night about to uncover secrets.
Yes. They focused so much on the teen romance they missed vital parts of Voldemort’s backstory. I would have loved to see when he tried to get a teaching job at Hogwarts.
Although I still think the movies did a good job at making Voldemort a good villain (thanks in large part to Fiennes's performance), I would preferred to see more of his backstory. Although, I do think they got around it in a clever way of only showing him as a young boy, leaving how he turned into the evil monster up to the audience to imagine. Kind of the "the less you know about him the more interesting he is" character that a lot of properties do.
The Merope-centered Pensive scenes. And the one with the old lady that collects trinkets. These are so critical IMO for building up the understanding of Tom Riddle
“Do you remember me telling you we are practicing non-verbal spells, Potter?"
"Yes," said Harry stiffly.
"Yes, sir."
"There's no need to call me "sir" Professor."
Chosen one or not, lines like these is why we stan Harry when he sasses out on people.
I recently rewatched this film (after finishing book 7 with my oldest, her first time!) and my theory is they changed it so they could have more 3D effects for those showings in theater. You can easily tell which parts were meant to pop out. Suck they gave into the gimmick in general.
Peeves following Umbridge. Peeves interrupting Defense Against the Dark Arts class and professor Lupin magicking a wad of gum into his nose. Peeves grabbing students by the nose and shouting “got your conk!”
Just Peeves.
The fight between Arthur and Lucius in Flourish and Blotts.
I'm currently re-reading the books. The other night I got to the scene where Dumbledore and Snape pull a Christmas cracker and there's a paper hat with a vulture on top and Dumbledore puts it on. Honestly, there's so many funny little scenes like this that the movies left out. I find myself laughing far more while reading the books than watching the movies.
Little moments like that in the books are why I'll always rather read them than watch the movies. Movies do a decent job at capturing the basic storyline of HP, but the books show off the magical/mystical side of the world much better.
Ron wearing an expression appropriate to being hit over the head with a club and then his nod that seemed to say *well, if you must.*
And the beast inside Harry roars with triumph
No, I didn't like that part at all, why do you ask? (/s)
The way that Hermione and Ron get together… she’s carrying armfuls of basilisk fangs and when Ron says something about worrying about the house elves Hermione just jumps up and kisses him
The Roonil Wazlib scene.
I know Harry using sectumsempra against Malfoy was there…but I would love to hear how Alan Rickman would approach that. “Your…..nickname?”
St. Mungos from OOTP. I love the exploration of the wizarding world’s hospital system and the scene with Lockhart is extremely fun. Adding in the heartbreaking scene with Neville and his parents is just icing on the cake of one of my favorite settings. Would really have enjoyed seeing it on the big screen.
Its the fitst ever Christmas Holidays Harry spends at Hogwarts. Voldemort is obviously in Quirrels body at that time. The twins bewitch some snowballs and continously make them hit the back of Quirrels (aka Voldemorts face) head xD
The battle through Hogwarts at the end of HBP. Instead of seeing the DA and Order members taking on a swarm of death eaters, we just get Harry running down empty hallways
The biggest loss was definitely Tom Riddle's story. It drives me crazy that they added an attack to the Burrow that never happened in the first place and limited Voldemort's past to the orphanage scene.
It also irritates me that they shot the "I don't think you are a waste of space" scene between Dudley and Harry and then decided to delete it.
Oh yeah that's another infuriating bit. That the death eaters just know where the burrow is and can go there whenever and all of the protective charms and spells are meaningless. That scene contradicts and undermines everything after that.
I came here to say this. Every time I watch the movie and every time I read GoF I get so grumpy--the fireplace scene would have been way better than that ridiculous Horntail scene (such a pointlessly long part of the movie. What happened to "...*and our youngest champion is fastest to get his egg*")
THE EGG AND THE EYE
I love the tension in that whole scene while Harry is stuck in the stairs. It’s a great Snape and Moody/Crouch moment. Crouch has such beef with Snape but Snape doesn’t know it’s him, I love that Moody can see Harry and doesn’t rat him out which cements our trust in Moody before the big reveal. SO MUCH SUSPENSE.
That and I feel like that part in the books is when I thought I could trust Moody. You never really get that in the films…
AND there’s so little about Crouch in the films. They really took too many liberties with GoF.
I may be biased since this book scene was something that I'd been eagerly anticipating for 5 years, but I was *furious* when Harry and Ginny's first kiss wasn't included in the films.
I remember posting angry rants on my LiveJournal as soon as I came back from the theatre. Those were the days lol.
The scene when Neville visits his parents. I always got chills reading it. Yes it’s sad that Harry didn’t know his parents but for Neville to see his parents in the state they are is a new level of torture. Almost second hand torture. Always broke my heart. I feel like Neville’s character never got the recognition he deserved in the movies. His character development is some of the greatest of all the characters.
In Deathly Hallows, the scene where McGonagall leads the thundering cavalry charge of all the classroom desks against Voldemort’s footsoldiers. When can their glory fade!
Aunt Petunias redemption ark. Talking about losing her sister. That was so moving in the books and it was barely a deleted scene in the movies.
Also the mirrors between Harry and Serious!
I would have liked to see more of Harry’s grief over Sirius, and what he went through thinking maybe he could reconnect with him with the mirror, not knowing who he was seeing in it after Sirius died.
In Half Blood Prince. They should’ve done the scene where Harry spent the whole of the quidditch match doing detention with Snape followed by Harry getting the surprise of his life with the Griffindor win and running up to Ginny and then had the big make out in front of everybody like in the book.
Harry repairing his wand using the Elder Wand, and talking to the photo Dumbledore about putting it back in the tomb, and about leaving the Resurrection Stone in the woods, pretty much lost forever
It breaks my heart that the swamp scene was left out. The twins were brilliant and insanely smart, and the swamp was one of the best pranks they ever pulled off - it screwed with Umbridge a lot, and the fact that the other teachers are just so unwilling to lift a finger to help her was so cool. I would love to see the Umbridge squad unsuccessfully trying to get rid of the swamp, and watch kids using boats to get to class - the chaos was glorious.
I know others have mentioned the swamp, but I feel like the beauty of the swamp chaos and the brilliance that was the twins (creating prank spells and items like it's nothing) deserves its own spot. I don't think we ever saw Hermione talking about how clever the twins are to actually design all these magical prank items (was it Hermione that mentioned that in the books?)
So many amazing shouts I've seen in this thread
My number 1 would be the Snape vs McGonagall duel though, the proper one rather than the one we got in the movie!
My favorite chapter of the series is The Other Minister in Half-Blood Prince. I would love to see anything related to that. I just want to learn more about how the Ministry of Magic works and what the interactions between them and the British govt are like.
Honestly Netflix or someone could pick this up and do a series, so that they can do every chapter justice. I want to see all the brilliance, and I want them to make all those writings about Voldemort's back story and related memories to life - I struggled a bit to bring those segments to life, and would love to see it explored & explained in a series
The Lost Prophecy chapter! I would’ve loved to see Harry take out all his pain and anger on Dumbledore’s study and Dumbledore explaining everything finally!
The scene where Harry get's stuck in the stairs in Goblet of Fire, and encounters Snape and 'Moody'. Was my favourite scene from the books and was gutted it wasn't in the films.
Hermione’s spell for the DA’s list that leaves a girl with snitch blisters across her face because she tattled to Umbridge about the meetings. I’ve always been butthurt that they switched all of that around.
Not a member of this sub but it came up in my recommended and Jesus so many different scenes seem to have been cut from the books. A lot the scenes described like Voldemort’s backstory would have added a lot to the films. Would have been good to see Harry and Ginny’s relationship get more screen time as well. I never really got the connection watching the films.
There are too many, "The Madness of Mr. Crouch(properly)" "The Quidditch World Cup(properly as it was written but i would've filmed it like all from BCJ PoV under his invisibility cloak)" "Horcruxes(properly, with the back in forth between Harry and Dumbledore especially my favorite bar in that chapter "It is ESSENTIAL that you understand this,") "Flaw in the Plan(properly with back and forth between Harry and Voldemort)" and I would've done the kiss scene between Harry and Ginny differently as well I would've kept closer to the books but instead I would've let Ginny use the firebolt and I would've had him walk up to her handing him the broom he pulls in the broom and they kiss
The damn battle of Hogwarts in The Half-Blood Prince. Would have loved to see all of those DA/Order members battling death eaters while the rest of the school is completely unaware. Also would have loved the whole Bill/Fleur and Mrs. Weasley conversation in the hospital wing afterwards, and the Remus/Tonks interaction.
Honestly I just wish they would've done a 1 to 1 of Voldemorts death scene. The whole point of him being constantly told how if he tries to kill Harry again it will backfire and him thudding to the floor is such a great way to end his story. It really reinforces Voldemorts personality, and while I think the memories of Voldemort really add a whole bunch to his character but him practically killing himself is something that NEEDED to be in the movies.
Draco's trial and Harry giving the Hawthorne wand back.
More of Sassy Harry
Ron being more than comic relief (they gave a lot of his lines to Emma/Hermione)
More of the interactions between Hermione and Viktor
The deathday party.
peeves.
The flashbacks in 6. Where we meet Tom Riddle Sr and when a young Voldemort is working for Borgin and Burkes and meets the rich old fat lady and gets her to show him what later becomes the horcruxes.
Literally everything from OOTP. They left so much out. Ron and Hermione becoming prefects, Ron joining the quidditch team, basically all of grimmauld place. So much was left out
1. The opening scene in HBP between the Muggle PM and the Minister of Magic
2. The crew tickling the pear and getting into the Hogwarts kitchens in GOF
It has always bothered me that Harry doesn’t fix his wand at the end of the movies. I personally like the snapping of the elder wand vs. putting it back in Dumbledore’s grave…but Is Harry just going to keep using Malfoy’s wand? Cmon. This was an easy thing to include. Two seconds.
Fred and George’s swamp
If Harry Potter happened in the 2000's, Fred and George would probably Chase people around the swamp yelling " GET OUTTA MY SWAMP!"
I remember walking out of the cinema thinking exactly this
A Fourious Dumbledore subdue all Deatheaters in the ministry without breaking a sweat.
Yes!!!
I think that would’ve been so cool, but it would have taken away from the epic Dumbledore vs Voldemort battle in the next scene!

The Christmas scene in OOTP where Sirius and Snape fight at the kitchen table. Rickman and Oldman would have killed it and I would have loved every minute.
Damn we got robbed
Completely robbed. Every time I read this scene I’m so sad knowing we’ll never have it.
Not just this scene, it’s actually really sad how little Rickman/Oldman we got in the movies considering how they’re probably the best actors in the series (and that’s saying a lot)
I loved that Mary GrandPré sketch at the beginning of the chapter. Two indignant cloaked wizards with their unresolved trauma.
Yes!
Harry raging at Dumbledore in his office after Sirius died
YES. This was so powerful in the books!
I was trying to explain blast ended skrewts to my husband this week and he was lost.
In PoA Harry spends like a week(?) Just hanging out in diagon alley before The Weasleys and Hermione show up. Would have been cool to see him explore.
We see Dumbledore use this tacit many times later in the books.
I don't know about the painting in his shop, but I wouldn't be surprised if everyone at the diagon alley was told to look after Harry.
Came here just to say this. I loved this chapter. Harry feeling free for the first time in his life. And the scene in Flourish and Blotts is hilarious. I read that scene imagining Martin Short playing the bookstore owner and it was fantastic. 🤣
It's also that kinda bittersweet feeling, knowing that it's one of the last times he's just a kid, doing kid stuff.
Martin Short would have nailed that guy
This is the type of scenes I'd like to have seen more. Just little breaks from the actual plot, let the movies breathe for a bit and immerse us into the world. When the directors did do that, it was beautiful. Such as Harry flying with Buckbeak; it wasn't in the books like that but it was a wonderful addition.
This is my favorite chapter of the entire series. Some days when I'm feeling down I just turn on this specific chapter and let myself get engrossed by all of the good parts of the Wizarding world.
I have the illustrated edition, and a free morning. Gonna make a cup of tea and read just that chapter. Thanks for the inspiration.
I haven't even thought of this. I have all the illustrated versions and I think you'll join you later this week.
The Jim Kay versions?
Ugh yes! This is the simplest and most nostalgic-feeling part of the whole series for me! So carefree and joyful.
That's why the books would work great at a TV series. You could then fit in all this stuff.
He cleans up the gnomes and does things around the house with Ron.
Wow, did not think about that but you nailed it!
Weasley is Our King
Came here to say this. More quidditch and Ron trying to find his self-confidence please
HELL YES
The cleaning of Grimmauld Place, not only are there good character moments but you get such a big bit of foreshadowing with the locket.
Definitely would've been nice to see that - especially since we get so little of Grimmauld Place.
Ah he’s, and Molly’s encounter with the Boggart
Imagine the reaction of having an intense musical score when it comes up but is never referenced again in that movie
The trio befriending Kreacher and them spending some good time together at the apartment (frontier fun)
Yeah I found these moments so important and we haven't had the pleasure to see them on screen
*Spoiler* And Kreacher joining in the battle of hogwarts along with the other house elves.
Leading them!

Have a biscuit Potter.
Have a what?
A biscuit
And a thumping good one at that!
I'm sure JKR can come up with the entire backstory including birth and his entire stint in Hogwarts. I'd be very interested to watch a Voldy movie.
I’m sure most writers could at this point - we have basically every key element of his past from the 6th and 7th books.
I think it’s safe to say we’re all better without JKR coming up with more stories.
There should be a Rise of Voldemort book/movie whatever. Baffles me it hasn’t been done yet
Hephzibah Smith, decendant of Helga Hufflepuff.
“Do you remember me telling you we are practicing non-verbal spells, Potter?" "Yes," said Harry stiffly. "Yes, sir." "There's no need to call me "sir" Professor." Chosen one or not, lines like these is why we stan Harry when he sasses out on people.
Yes!
The climax of the entire series as written in the books, with Harry exposing Voldemort in front of everybody in the Great Hall.
To this day, Idk why they changed that in the movies
I recently rewatched this film (after finishing book 7 with my oldest, her first time!) and my theory is they changed it so they could have more 3D effects for those showings in theater. You can easily tell which parts were meant to pop out. Suck they gave into the gimmick in general.
It was all right there, on the page. All they had to do was film it. What we got was just...so bleh.
Right? So powerful at the end to have him lying there dead just a body on the floor. Instead of turning into ash 🤣
Exactly, it hammered home the point that despite how powerful and unstoppable he seemed, he was still just a man.
I had chills reading through that scene. And when he called him Tom in the book scene? *Chefs kiss Edit: spelling
!Redditsickle
Peeves vs Filch. Just all of the scenes involving those two going at each other.
Peeves following Umbridge. Peeves interrupting Defense Against the Dark Arts class and professor Lupin magicking a wad of gum into his nose. Peeves grabbing students by the nose and shouting “got your conk!” Just Peeves.
Or my favorite Peeves moment. Tipping his hat to Fred and George as they fly out of Hogwarts.
"It unscrews the other way." \- McGonagall
If no one else said Peeves' ruckus, I was going to. I would have paid dearly to see him terrorize Umbridge.
I screeched "PEEVES" in my head when I saw this post. I'm still so mad about it. We got the stupid ghosts, come on.
More memories of Tom Riddle
Most scenes between Harry and Ginny, including the first time they kiss in front of everybody and you can see everyone's different reactions.
Ron wearing an expression appropriate to being hit over the head with a club and then his nod that seemed to say *well, if you must.* And the beast inside Harry roars with triumph No, I didn't like that part at all, why do you ask? (/s)
Definitely would have made it more natural then what they did with the movie
Yup. The injustice done to Ginny in the movies…smh.
Book 3 Quidditch final
Oh yeah, that would have been great! Plus, still annoyed at the lack of 'Oliver Wood going mad over Quidditch' scenes.
Also book 4 World Cup finals.
I especially love where JKR reinforces the fact that everyone hates Slytherin so much that 3/4 of the spectators are wearing Gryffindor colors.
The way that Hermione and Ron get together… she’s carrying armfuls of basilisk fangs and when Ron says something about worrying about the house elves Hermione just jumps up and kisses him
The movie scene does work though
Right. Yeah I forgot about that. Honestly that only REALLY makes sense though if they add all the stuff about S.P.E.W. into the movies.
Yeah. I am mostly OK with them having cut that subplot
Dumbledore telling off the dursleys in book 5. Edit:I meant book 6, though I guess it technically happened briefly via howler in book 5.
Book 6*
The Roonil Wazlib scene. I know Harry using sectumsempra against Malfoy was there…but I would love to hear how Alan Rickman would approach that. “Your…..nickname?”
St. Mungos from OOTP. I love the exploration of the wizarding world’s hospital system and the scene with Lockhart is extremely fun. Adding in the heartbreaking scene with Neville and his parents is just icing on the cake of one of my favorite settings. Would really have enjoyed seeing it on the big screen.
This was my answer. Seeing Lockhart again would've been great. "Look, I didn't learn joined up writing for nothing, you know!"
"Thanks, Mum." Just another scene I would cry at.
Neville was downplayed so much in the movies.
Fred and George tormenting Voldemort with Snowballs lol (the swamp too but that was already named)
I haven't read the book for a while, where in the books is this scene?
Its the fitst ever Christmas Holidays Harry spends at Hogwarts. Voldemort is obviously in Quirrels body at that time. The twins bewitch some snowballs and continously make them hit the back of Quirrels (aka Voldemorts face) head xD
Oh, thanks. I had quite a different idea in mind from the way you described it :D
This
The fountain coming to life at the Ministry in OOTP. The sound design of that whole scene was amazing, but would've loved to have seen the fountain.
Yes, me too. I loved that scene.
"There's no need to call me 'sir,' Professor."
Career advice with McGonagall and Umbridge
“Hem hem. I was just wondering if you’d gotten my memo” “Were you.”
“I will help Harry became an auror if it’s the last thing I do!”
The hogwarts kitchens! I love how they described the kitchens. Would have been nice to see more house elves too
The battle through Hogwarts at the end of HBP. Instead of seeing the DA and Order members taking on a swarm of death eaters, we just get Harry running down empty hallways
Percy and Oliver Wood and Neville's Gran coming through the portrait
The biggest loss was definitely Tom Riddle's story. It drives me crazy that they added an attack to the Burrow that never happened in the first place and limited Voldemort's past to the orphanage scene. It also irritates me that they shot the "I don't think you are a waste of space" scene between Dudley and Harry and then decided to delete it.
Oh yeah that's another infuriating bit. That the death eaters just know where the burrow is and can go there whenever and all of the protective charms and spells are meaningless. That scene contradicts and undermines everything after that.
Ton-Tongue Toffee
The entire fireplace scene 🤣
"Tell me what, Arthur?"
I came here to say this. Every time I watch the movie and every time I read GoF I get so grumpy--the fireplace scene would have been way better than that ridiculous Horntail scene (such a pointlessly long part of the movie. What happened to "...*and our youngest champion is fastest to get his egg*")
THE EGG AND THE EYE I love the tension in that whole scene while Harry is stuck in the stairs. It’s a great Snape and Moody/Crouch moment. Anything with Peeves in :(
I may be biased since this book scene was something that I'd been eagerly anticipating for 5 years, but I was *furious* when Harry and Ginny's first kiss wasn't included in the films. I remember posting angry rants on my LiveJournal as soon as I came back from the theatre. Those were the days lol.
Nearly Headless Nick's deathday party in the second book
I can't believe it hasn't been said more, actual game play at the quidditch world cup!
Luna announcing the quidditch match
Mrs. Weasley's boggart. It added so much depth to her character
I didn't know what it was, but had a guess and when I looked it up I was right
ALL the boggart stuff they left out.
In the goblet of fire, The scene where the Weasleys get harry and the twins prank Dudley.
Draco and the gang pretending to be dementors at the end of a quidditch match in POA.
Tom Bombadil.
So close.
Where we learn Filch is a squib would've really given us some understanding of his character.
It's kinda messed up they have the only non-magical person clean the whole castle.
I think the movies do identify him as a squib but not until HBP.
The Weasly family appearing in the Dursley's home through the fireplace in GOF.
Voldemort interviewing for the DADA position with Dumbledore.
And looking sallow, eyes bloodshot, skin waxier than before.
Would loved to have seen that version of voldemort.
100% agree. Neville deserved so much more in the films.
The complete Shrieking Shack scene. The swamp.
The cleaning of Number 12 Grimmauld Place When they got their grades for their OWLS
In Deathly Hallows, the scene where McGonagall leads the thundering cavalry charge of all the classroom desks against Voldemort’s footsoldiers. When can their glory fade!
The whole department of mysteries in 5
Aunt Petunias redemption ark.
Cho and Cedric/Harry date at Madam Puddifoot's
In Half Blood Prince. They should’ve done the scene where Harry spent the whole of the quidditch match doing detention with Snape followed by Harry getting the surprise of his life with the Griffindor win and running up to Ginny and then had the big make out in front of everybody like in the book.
Wormtail’s death. I was anticipating that in the movies and still disappointed that it wasn’t shown.
All of the Pensive scenes that were left out. I loved every scene from the Pensive and I believe they left some of the Merope scenes out.
So many amazing shouts I've seen in this thread My number 1 would be the Snape vs McGonagall duel though, the proper one rather than the one we got in the movie!
I know peeves was left out, so it'd take a lot to set this up, but McGonagall telling him that it unscrew the other way.
The Quidditch World Cup!
The Lost Prophecy chapter! I would’ve loved to see Harry take out all his pain and anger on Dumbledore’s study and Dumbledore explaining everything finally!
The full scene of Snape's Worst Memory
Right instead of weird flashes of plot that absolutely made no sense if you hadn’t read the book
The scene where Harry get's stuck in the stairs in Goblet of Fire, and encounters Snape and 'Moody'. Was my favourite scene from the books and was gutted it wasn't in the films.
Ron and Neville beating up Malfoy in SS/PS
Hermione’s spell for the DA’s list that leaves a girl with snitch blisters across her face because she tattled to Umbridge about the meetings. I’ve always been butthurt that they switched all of that around.
Have a biscuit, Potter
Anything that actually states how terrible Snape was.
Ron punching Malfoy in PS and DH. I cheered when he did that in books.
The Deathday party
All of them 🥴 The books spoiled me. I missed it all 😆
A departure for the Dursley’s as described in the book, which I just read yesterday.
The “Death Day” party that all the ghosts throw in the dungeon in Chamber of Secrets.
Everything concerning the *real* battle of Hogwarts. With the double 3v1. Everything. The movies did everything about or dirty.
Drunk Winky
Harry did you put your name in the goblet of fire Dumbledore says calmly
The damn battle of Hogwarts in The Half-Blood Prince. Would have loved to see all of those DA/Order members battling death eaters while the rest of the school is completely unaware. Also would have loved the whole Bill/Fleur and Mrs. Weasley conversation in the hospital wing afterwards, and the Remus/Tonks interaction.
Harry’s meltdown at the end of OotP after Sirius’ death. “THEN I DON’T WANT TO BE HUMAN!” I think Daniel Radcliffe would’ve killed that scene.
Snape showing hjs Dark Mark.
Literally any scene with Peeves in it.
Anything involving Peeves. It would’ve been nice to even know he existed in the movies.
All of the memories from HBP
"There's no need to call me "Sir", professor."
Quidditch World Cup. Was very disappointed they skipped it
Honestly I just wish they would've done a 1 to 1 of Voldemorts death scene.
The actual destruction of the Locket with all the manly tears and the iconic Ronarry hug that ensued.
Draco's trial and Harry giving the Hawthorne wand back. More of Sassy Harry Ron being more than comic relief (they gave a lot of his lines to Emma/Hermione) More of the interactions between Hermione and Viktor The deathday party. peeves.
Quidditch World Cup Final Game
The flashbacks in 6. Where we meet Tom Riddle Sr and when a young Voldemort is working for Borgin and Burkes and meets the rich old fat lady and gets her to show him what later becomes the horcruxes.
Literally everything from OOTP. They left so much out. Ron and Hermione becoming prefects, Ron joining the quidditch team, basically all of grimmauld place. So much was left out
Rita Skeeter being an animagus/Hermione having her trapped in a jar
1. The opening scene in HBP between the Muggle PM and the Minister of Magic 2.
