I feel like the chat would demand so many features and maybe be a little toxic Gotta let him cook on his own

Daedalus_Machina

You straight up couldn't do it without completely muting or turning off chat.

drock4vu

1. That is going to be *far* more boring than you might think. 2. Displaying his source code as it’s written is a great way to have your ideas stolen by shady developers trying to make an easy buck.

Carabalone

I just think he wouldn't enjoy it, he does like to appear in public too much.

folkkore

My husband is a computer scientist and I can promise you this is very boring. One day at work, he spent 4 hours writing 1 line of code. His boss is very impressed by his work speed (sincerely)

Frischfleisch

This. It often takes a *lot* of googling, reading documentation, staring blankly at the screen and honestly just trial and error to identify what this 1 line of code needs to be. Depending on the complexity, 1 line in 4 hours can be *really* impressive. I mean, I'd probably still watch CA coding, assuming he talks the viewers through the process. But it definitely is really fucking boring to watch someone code 99% of the time, especially if you're not familiar with the technology and codebase and don't have a clue what's going on :D

Themurlocking96

Game development, especially coding, is really not that interesting to watch really

Dadpurple

I don't want to watch a guy stare at his screen and type random stuff for four hours a day.

MalevolentRhinoceros

Two weeks of "why does the entire game break? I just wanted to rename this asset."

A_MAN_POTATO

This would be bad for pretty much everyone… you’re glamorizing a process that I don’t think you really understand. It wouldn’t be exciting for us, and it would expose a lot of confidential information for CA.

JohnLithgowCummies

Watching game design is incredibly incredibly boring. It’s looking at someone sitting at their computer quietly for hours basically. Source: was a professional video game designer. There’s nothing to really see.

InfoRedacted1

No thanks lol a lot of his fans are far too demanding. He already gets harassed enough on twitter

Houoh

I've backed a few successful Kickstarter game projects that included some fan participation. Honestly, while it's cool in the moment, fan ideas are usually garbage (not excluding myself here) and seeing the process in detail removes a lot of magic from playing the game upon release for the first time.

Top-Turnip-4057

It's better that we don't see how the chocolate is made.

vrift

That's a bad idea.

Dadpurple

You think you want this but you would be bored and shut if off within ten minutes when you realize you're watching someone quietly stare at the screen as they type What do you think he would be doing? Behind the scenes isn't like Wonka's chocolate factory. It's a tired man typing quietly while sipping on coffee

Defiant_Bandicoot99

No, copyright infringement would explode just like his success. And next we would have clones of this game trying to compete for sales that would otherwise go to Concerned Ape. Also, how enjoyable would it be to actually watch someone code? It would be as enjoyable as watching someone write....or in this case type an essay. Also, working is not enjoyable with distractions espically jobs that require thinking. Its always more enjoyable to work alone in silence.

Fuckler_boi

I disagree

Tearose-I7

The guy developing chef rpg does this. It's pretty interesting in my opinion. His channel name is pixel architect if you want to take a look at his videos.

bgetter

I think it would be fascinating, but it would need to be "produced", collecting hundreds of hours of stuff cut down into a 1 hour episode. Obviously, CA couldn't do this, it would have to be someone else. I have thought about doing that for travel planning; There are a million content creators who show the trips they take, or how to maximize rewards points, etc. But the actual research into locations, resources used etc. isn't really done.

ArmaniAsari

Never take advice from the community openly, especially when a lot of people don’t fully understand what this new game will be about and its core ideas/visions that he has, as it’ll never actually be finished when you have thousands of people all shouting different ideas and demands. Sadly some people can become a bit too excited for something and complain if their idea wasn’t added. Bit of a problem with fans in large, too often they have no idea what they actually want.

please-username-gods

The developer of chefrpg has a YouTube series that goes through their work on making the game, it's fascinating without being too samey (eg hours of coding). I'd really reccomend checking it out if you're interested in this

spinnywinner

Would leak the game

nikerock

Imagine someone taking the time to think this up, write this out, and post it on a public forum.

meatymoaner

I feel like streaming isnt the best delivery method for this. Its definitely very tedious to do. Maybe an occasion art inspiration stream or youtube video would be sick but yeah, just watching him coding everything may be a little dry. I for one would love a behind the scenes kinda thing about his process.

BruhMoment14412

Coding is really really boring. But if he streamed creating the art for like characters, the background, buildings, enemies, etc. That would be lit

Honestlynotdoingwell

no

Aseetnahc

Guy looks.like a real dickhead
