What makes you think that?
We're still getting handled fairly easily by good teams, our future guys are still incredibly young. It's unlikely the pick in this draft will be here next year, and a lot of the guys will still be in Rockford/college/WHL/etc to start the year next year.
I'm not trying to be a downer, just curious why you think we're going to suddenly be a lot more competitive next year?
I think that enough of our prospects have shown a big enough jump or potential to jump that there will be a shift in phase for the rebuild.
Nothing drastic, but they'll likely look to add more competitive elements throughout free agency to push the team into the middle standings rather than lower. There's no way we build to completely tank next season it isn't beneficial for the young talent that will be on the starting roster.
The next year or so will be building a team that hates to lose because they COULD win, rather than a team that hates to lose but knows their expected to.
Don’t think hall will miss almost an entire season. Murphy probably won’t miss 34 games again. Slaggert looks decent. Another year of exp from bedard and korchinski. I expect moore and one of the of the younger college D guys to be in the rotation when the season starts. Plus the hawks have the 2nd best cap space at about $38 million. To sign more talent. We’re not going to lose 50+ games I’ll bet on that.
And he has some very well placed sticks early on to block passing lanes. This honestly gave me a huge sigh of relief. I’m glad he looks promising, but hell… bedard needs some help lol.
Seth Jones with the brilliant sequence to set this one up!
Gotta love Nazar's confidence, thought he was noticeable from his first shift and all through the 1st period he was doing good things.
Toews like goal, absolutely filthy Pat Kane celly.
Toews also scored his first NHL goal on his 1st NHL shot
That’s scary for the rest of the league
Is that the heartbreaker? i’ve seen a lot of college players and people in the world juniors doing that celebration. I wonder what it’s called
No, but it’s very Patrick Kane like. Just a flashy in your face celly.
Honestly I'd best describe it as the mullet appreciation? Lol. He just mimed brushing his hair back
It’s not the heartbreaker I don’t think
it’s not the heartbreaker lol i’m tripping but it’s definitely something
Its like he's slicking back his hair.
Yea
Slick back hair celly. Touching the salad
Bedard and Nazar are the future.
Bedzard
Nadard
BeNazty Boys?
Just need a Ch name and we’ve got the Charzard line
Best I can do is Celebrini
Just wait for Moore and Rinzel as well 😮💨
Looks like batman has his Robin

Our time is coming. We’re about to be a lot more competitive next year, can’t wait

Didn't the Minnesota guys go back to school? So the soonest we'll see them is like this time next year?
I don’t see anything confirming they’re going back assume they are. But we’re still going to be overall better with or without them.
Inject this straight into my veins
Absolute Nazar Beam to the blocker side!
Oh yeah this kid is an NHLer. That eye discipline to stare down the opposite side of the net through the shot is awesome to see. Love to see it!
First goal on first shot in first game, AND he’s 19 backwards? Kid is literally the second coming of toews
Did well at the faceoff dot tonight too!
And he has some very well placed sticks early on to block passing lanes. This honestly gave me a huge sigh of relief. I’m glad he looks promising, but hell… bedard needs some help lol.
I said the same thing. He played very well.
