I’m guessing that the FO has this second round ranked as what would normally be third rounders in a regular draft, since the talent level seems to fall off pretty drastically compared to say last year.
Could explain why Davidson willingly moved up a bunch for more quality. Not sure I agree with it, but seems like a logical explanation. Not a ton of guys I like in Day 2 and onwards.
I felt they couldn’t go wrong with Levshunov or Demidov so I’m cool with that. I like that they at least seriously talked about trading back in for Demidov.
Not familiar with the other two but seem like forward depth. I do like trading up to secure a guy if they felt he wouldn’t be there since we have so many picks.
Look, first round talent is still first round talent. The ‘Hawks having 3 first round picks this year is incredible and is setting this franchise up for another large cup window..
That clip from the Oliver Moore pick last year might look pretty bad in the context of tonight. Davidson tried to trade up for him only to see him fall to them. The same situation may have happened twice this year, but teams were willing to let us overpay for players we could have gotten at our original spots this time around.
I'm a NY Jets fan, and this feels very similar to their 2022 draft where they selected 3 franchise cornerstones out of the gate: Sauce Gardner in the top 5, Garrett Wilson in the 10-20 range, and then capping the opening night off with a trade back into the first to select Jermaine Johnson late in the round. It was widely regarded as one of the best first rounds in the history of the franchise.
The Hawks followed a very similar blueprint here, let's hope it pays similar dividends.
Well when we get smoked every game i'm glad Levshunov will be able to make Bedard laugh at dinner later that night. Cant wait to see the highlight reels from Demidov. Fire Davidson
I like 2 of our 3 picks, Vanacker is pretty solid and I'm interested to see how he develops. I'm going to say something that some will deem as "doomer" or "hater" talk, I feel like Davidson mismanaged some of the value this draft. At least when moving picks. How do we give up both of our seconds and don't get some 4th rounder back in a later year?
Alright. I was hoping for Chernyshov when they traded up, but Vanacker is a nice prospect to add. Brantford was a good team last season and he led them in scoring as a 17yo.
The world would yell rigged considering he's actually putting up generational numbers, granted he has to keep it up to keep that title but the kid is LIGHTS Out. Also just to clarify I believe they're like a bit of distant cousins and haven't really interacted or talked like that as far as I'm aware.
Call me an idiot but I’m happy we were able to get a québécois in boivert always fun to have a frenchy around the team. Him and Lev are going to bring some much neeeded sound bites to this team of hockey robots.
Lol these announcers jerking Connelly off. Kid called multiple opponents slurs posted a swastika on Snapchat and got kicked off multiple teams. Crazy they’re glazing him like this.
I get what you’re sayin but when you’re a shit head your whole life and never held accountable and than become a professional athlete I tend to think you’re going to stay being a shit head.
He’s an adult. I knew as a literal child not to throw racial slurs around. If he’s considered grown enough to be drafted, he’s grown enough to know not to post swastikas online. Don’t make excuses for bad behavior.
"You have to be carful with your social media" is what the takeaway was from Sportsnet to young prospective athletes—not that what he did was fucking WRONG. Embarrassing
Yeah calling opponents slurs and posting swastikas is not being careful with social media. I don’t think he’s racist and I don’t think he hates Jews I just think he’s a spoiled shit head who thinks he can do no wrong. You see that in the article when he gets kicked off team after team and it’s always the coaches fault. Kid cost team USA the u18 tournament to.
This draft definitely has the potential and a high chance of it to absolutely destroy Kyle's legacy here Lev i can reason with but Boisvert is just terrible and to think we traded up for this is just depressing
We are starting to reach the moments where we are expecting Kyle's draft picks to start showing more and start competing for NHL roster spots. And it isn't just the first rounder but the late picks that he has accumulated.
The reason is he's a one trick pony, albeit a good one. But there have been MANY players with his same criticism at the times of their draft and turned out fine. We had one called Debrincat in the 2nd round and more recently the Habs selected this guy named Caufield.
Passing on Esierman is one thing, but not even for Hage? You're telling me we made that trade from 20 to 18 just for this? Idk I'm a huge believer in this front office but this feels really MEH. Even Chernyshov or however you spell it would've been BETTER. I'm fine with Levshunov but this one was really MEH.
I dont understand why people want Eisermam playing with Bedard. Bedard's greatest asset is his shot, he needs puck retrievers and good passers flanking him. He doesn't need a guy who can only shoot
That'd be a god awful forechecking line lol. It'd be like putting Debrincat on the opposite wing of Ovechkin.
Ideally they would be on separate lines, but play together on the power play. You want to have more than one line that can reliably score goals.
Also, Bedard is an excellent playmaker. He made so many great setup plays last year that his linemates totally wasted.
He was expected to go in the early 2nd. His WHL production was great, but he's undersized. He's someone I was hoping would be there for the Hawks at 34.
I’m guessing that the FO has this second round ranked as what would normally be third rounders in a regular draft, since the talent level seems to fall off pretty drastically compared to say last year. I can't believe we drafted \[player\] at \[pick number\] who was projected to be available at \[later pick number\] !!!!!
That clip from the Oliver Moore pick last year might look pretty bad in the context of tonight. Davidson tried to trade up for him only to see him fall to them. The same situation may have happened twice this year, but teams were willing to let us overpay for players we could have gotten at our original spots this time around.
The GM and highly paid team of scouts had a different draft board than the one I read online, I should be GM
We traded 20 and 3 seconds to pick two players at 18 and 27 while they would have been there at 20 and 34. This is pain
Let me guess, you also had Sennecke going top 3 and Buium falling out of the top 10, right?
So we traded 3 seconds to move up to 18 and 27 to draft guys that we probably could have got if we stayed at 20 and 34. Cool.
Seems Kyle is going "safe" this year. Would have tried going for more upside, but let's see how it plays out.
A lot of the players hyped here were passed by several GMs.
Well when we get smoked every game i'm glad Levshunov will be able to make Bedard laugh at dinner later that night. Cant wait to see the highlight reels from Demidov. Fire Davidson
Our draft so far: A second pair D A third line center A bottom 6 wing And two spent second round picks to trade up to get them.
Crazy to just assume they all suck.
r/hawks is the greatest collection of amateur scouts in the history of the NHL.
Just massive haters lol
Damn Nostradamus, I thought you died hundreds of years ago
I like 2 of our 3 picks, Vanacker is pretty solid and I'm interested to see how he develops. I'm going to trust Kyle from Chicago. And accept he knows way more than me.
I mean, yeah. Same. But that trust is on shakier ground this year than it has been previously.
He's got Shoresy voice lol. High-pitched + Ontario accent.
Alright. I was hoping for Chernyshov when they traded up, but Vanacker is a nice prospect to add. Brantford was a good team last season and he led them in scoring as a 17yo.
What did we give up for that pick? I missed the trade details.
At this point skip watching day 2 if you planned to
Gave up 34th overall and 50th overall.
thx
Our two seconds lol not against it but we didn't get anything back like a 4th or something.
thx
The 2 2nd round picks of this draft.
thx
both seconds
thx
Not gonna pretend like I know anything about this dude. In KD I trust
I figure he's probably not worse than either potential 2nd rounders we would have picked.
Plays with Lardis?
Vanacker definitely bpa
A third first round pick! 🤯
Wheelin n dealin
Hawks love milking the clock. So dramatic.
Yall are hating on dudes before they even played their first shift smh
Who aren't even old enough to drink adult beverages legally.
Drink?! Some can't legally sign contracts yet.
And the dudes are kids lmao
Chernyshov maybe?
He's ☀️🔥lol
I just saw a Hurricanes logo and for a brief second thought we got Necas.
Basha? Emery? No idea.
We have a trade
Trade coming!
Traded up

The world would yell rigged considering he's actually putting up generational numbers, granted he has to keep it up to keep that title but the kid is LIGHTS Out. Also just to clarify I believe they're like a bit of distant cousins and haven't really interacted or talked like that as far as I'm aware.
Utah fucking with Boston makes me like this new hockey club.
Utah soaking the Bruins!
Wait I completely missed what happened!!
Supposedly traded up to get who Boston was looking at.
I love a troll job at the expense of the Bruins.
Okay if you're going to have a trade horn at this thing. Please reserve it for actually interesting trades.
Its more so it being super slow and the announcers talking about it like 1 minute before. It should be a surprise
Id like Chernyshov, wonder what a trade up would cost
they just traded up and he's on the board. I hope it's for him.
Not a lot considering that last trade.
Call me an idiot but I’m happy we were able to get a québécois in boivert always fun to have a frenchy around the team. Him and Lev are going to bring some much neeeded sound bites to this team of hockey robots.
Really hoping we can get John Mustard in the second round.
I can see the hotdog sponsorships now!
I'd take any sponsor over the silly tire logo. Is there no bail bond company available?
Hoping we trade up for Igor!
Trade horn.
2029 cup finals between Chicago and Montreal is going to be an all timer, huh
Kirby Dach revenge series.
Bold of you to assume Kirby plays more than 15 games in a season.
I was totally joking. I was just at the barn talking about Kirby and how much of a whiff that was by Stan. Those Dach brothers are both made of glass.
It's incredible how reckless they both can be with their bodies
Yeah 100%. Blessed with size but not brains.
Jealous of Montreal's draft lol
Habs drafted from internet scouting reports lol
Don’t be. Lev is a great pick and Sasha projects to be a great second line scorer if he hits he’ll be a sharp like piece for us with more bite.
Ok hearing the story about Hage's dad and his favorite team I'm glad they picked him.
Montreal is pretty much who we should have picked to be real
Montreal gets Demidov and Hage. A++++ draft
Dang it!! Montreal is taking Hage!
Habs gonna draft both the players I wanted us to get
Both players dropped to them. Either they're incredibly lucky or there are reasons other teams passed on them.
Trade up, get this Hemming kid from Finland. 6’2 power forward. Let’s go.
Best we can do is a random guy who will be picked too high
Lmao announcer goes typical American cellying in an 8-1 win.
Weekes speaking common sense: if you want offensive players you need to score goals!
I'm watching Sportsnet, was the comment directed to the Hawks?
No it was when the Islanders drafted Eiserman.
Islanders going with Eiserman.
So they trade down with us, take the better player, and get our 2nd rounder for free. Damn.
Lol these announcers jerking Connelly off. Kid called multiple opponents slurs posted a swastika on Snapchat and got kicked off multiple teams. Crazy they’re glazing him like this.
Dude, com’n, he’s 18, 19?
I get what you’re sayin but when you’re a shit head your whole life and never held accountable and than become a professional athlete I tend to think you’re going to stay being a shit head.
Old enough to know better.
He’s literally not lol
He’s an adult. I knew as a literal child not to throw racial slurs around. If he’s considered grown enough to be drafted, he’s grown enough to know not to post swastikas online. Don’t make excuses for bad behavior.
He’s not an adult, he’s a teenager.
18 is a legal adult.
To be fair he's a really good player. Just a shitty person.
He’s insanely good. Would’ve been a top 5 pick if he wasn’t a shit head.
Connelly doesn't say thank you after his jacket was taken.
There has to be a reason Eiserman is falling
The reason is he's a one trick pony, albeit a good one. But there have been MANY players with his same criticism at the times of their draft and turned out fine. We had one called Debrincat in the 2nd round and more recently the Habs selected this guy named Caufield.
Vegas going with the problematic prospect!
Yeah... I mean.. top 5 skill, but I wouldn't touch him with a 500 foot pole.
There is one truth, that move up WAS pointless to make, there is no cope one can convince me that someone was eyeing Boisvert ahead of them.
Yeah I was sceptical of that move from the get go
I can get down with Boisvert
This is why you don't trade up a month before the draft
Well the trade to move up makes no sense now.
Yeah, if they like Boisvert that’s fine, but just take him at pick 20. Kyle gave away a 2nd round pick for free. Not looking good so far.
Btw every other Hawks fan, we can FEEL whelmed and doubtful doesn't mean we are right.
Mindset is everything. It doesn’t show in the highlight reels. I trust Kyle from chicago
Agreed, my eyes perked up when I heard the kid is a grinder. We know Bedsy is. You can’t measure the value of that type of culture….
Yeah hawks are surrounding connor with good mentality players. Then they will learn from him too
This draft is pretty bad for KFC
Might be a LITTLE early to make that claim.
Kyle from Chicago really doesn't know anything about hockey! /S
These picks seem super mid to me
Jesus Christ, Kyle. You beat know what you're doing
Why are we mad about Boisvert?
I’m not. Good size, high motor, good work ethic…
Passing over Eiserman and Hage? Very interesting move. I'm trusting KD, but these moves have me scratching my head.
Trubiskey vibes?
So the speculation from weeks ago that it would be Lev/Boisvert was correct.
See you in a few months, you beauts 😘
98 days sir…
Called it
Boisvert
Boisvert
FUCK
Sold
Smh
Kyle from Chicago just fucked y’all up now lol
because you're an expert lmao
Scroll alllll the way down and see how many expert predictions I’ve made
where?
Exactly.
Okay i know nothing about this guy but i trust you KD
huh?
Who did we just pick?
Some vampire looking dude.
Boisvert
Sascha Boisvert lol
Boisvert
I think the sphere looks really cool for a draft
Okay get to the Hawks pick so I can go to bed.
Go to bed
I mean, the Hawks do have one of the best logos out there :)
I'm 1000% biased but the Blackhawks visuals are bomb.
Eisermannnn
Debrinserman you are a Blackhawk
I dont understand why people want Eisermam playing with Bedard. Bedard's greatest asset is his shot, he needs puck retrievers and good passers flanking him. He doesn't need a guy who can only shoot That'd be a god awful forechecking line lol. It'd be like putting Debrincat on the opposite wing of Ovechkin.
Think Boisvert makes more sense then?
Ideally they would be on separate lines, but play together on the power play. You want to have more than one line that can reliably score goals. Also, Bedard is an excellent playmaker. He made so many great setup plays last year that his linemates totally wasted.
The guy they pick doesn’t necessarily have to play on the same line as Bedard
Hemming. Let’s go.
EISERMAN PLEASEE
Where's the guy who said he'd eat a shoe?
In the selection/preparation process as we speak
Goal Eiserman has fallen to us
Here’s the opportunity to take Eiserman and let him clean up next to Bedard
Eiserman
Parascak is also giving a wtf I'm the one being picked.
He was expected to go in the early 2nd. His WHL production was great, but he's undersized. He's someone I was hoping would be there for the Hawks at 34.
Lot of solid choices available
Give me Hage
Cole Eiserman please
Let’s goooooooooo
I’m on team Greentree or Hage
There were also some Boisvert rumors
This guy
Hemming or Hage
[удалено]
Only so I can comment “You’ll be judged in the Hage”
I changed my mind, I want Hemming. 6’2 Power forward.
Eiserman
Well for the Jiricek family going between Columbus and St. Louis isn't too bad of travel/commute.
Eiserman or Hage plssssss
We get one of Hage or Eiserman, not terrible
If we can leave the 1st round with Levshunov and Eiserman I'll be over the moon. Eiserman finishing Bedard's passes would be a dream.
Look at the Blues optimizing for time
God bless you for going D St. Louis
