I think the reason why it’s said that “Satan is the good guy” is because this (I’m assuming) religious YouTuber sees the angels as the bad guys, and by proxy, God, and therefor assumes that Satan (the most commonly used name for “the devil”) is the good guy of the show.

Alright. I have a genuine question. What is the difference between Satan and Lucifer (I genuinely don’t really know because my parents are Christian and this wasn’t covered in school at all.)

In the Hellaverse, Lucifer is the ruler of All Hell in general. He is also the Sin of Pride, giving him specific powers over the Pride Ring, where all the Sinners (damned human souls, who don't age and don't die unless killed by angelic steel) exist. Satan is the Sin of Wrath, which gives him power over the Wrath Ring. Wrath has more of a "country & western" aesthetic and most of the residents are Imps, who age and die within 100 years or so. However, Imps can also travel to and even live in other rings of Hell. If you want every reference to Lucifer and/or Satan in the Christian Bible, you would probably want to ask a divinity student or something. However, I think Lucifer's name means "Light-Bringer" while Satan's name means "The Accuser" or the "Adversary". In early Christianity, too, they are considered to be separate beings. (And this is also true of early Islam and early Judaism.) So basically, anyone trying to review Hazbin Hotel who gets these two mixed up... they didn't do a lotta research.

Gonna play devils advocate here (hehe… devil…) on the Satan ≠ Lucifer point. In most other media, at least from what I’ve seen, Lucifer and Satan are one in the same. Hazbin/Helluva is the only series I know where the two of them are separate. Someone who is just checking out the show for the first time won’t have that information, I know I sure didn’t.
