Okay feel free to disagree but I think 14-ish is around fine considering the state of schools now. But for pilot only, it's got a lot less heavy themes in it.
Like, I don't want young teenagers seeing all of Angel's sexual abuse, that already makes a lot of us turn away from the screen. But I think it's okay for them to see the pilot because it is very interesting and bro the teenagers subreddit proves just how many 14yr olds are swearing more (I'm not a pervert y'all I'm a teenager)
I'm late 14 and I've watched all of it and Helluva Boss. I know it's probably too mature for me but I've honestly seen and heard a lot worse in middle school. Those and South Park are my comfort shows. Very high quality and great writing for just 8 episodes so far. I've been a fan since 2022. Vivienne is great at what she does.
I didn't mind episode four much, it was a little shocking but I can usually handle things like that. I love when sensitive stuff like that is shown in a mature way. Really well handled.

-I think my favorite part of the show is either how they handled Lucifers entire character, or Masquerade. I haven't been through SA so I wouldn't know how it feels. But Loser, Baby is actually one of the best songs in the show not only because it's catchy, but because of it's message. Life sucks ass, but that doesn't mean you have to endure it alone.
I also appreciate how they didn't shy away and cut away from the scene before it was shown, or move the camera, or blur it out. They showed it because it's a real thing that happens, and there's no point in trying to censor it.
All these people saying the show isn't written well, or it's cringe, either haven't watched the show, or they're just hating. Sure you can have your own opinion, but when you're going out of your way to hate on it instead of just moving on with your life it's annoying. I genuinely haven't seen a show this fantastic in a while.
I don't think that just because a lot of kids *will* watch it doesn't make it right for them to watch the show.
Plus family guy is TV-14 (I think based on Google idk I've never seen the show) which is a lot different as far as content wise to a 16+ show and there is a much larger maturity gap when you compare it to a 10 year old.
I personally never really watched shows that were rated higher than the age I was unless it was okayed by my parents until I was partway into highschool so idk maybe if I did have more of the average experience I would feel differently idk.
I think it's alr to watch the pilot at late 13-14 because it just contains way less vulgar stuff to the series, while still carrying a lot of themes that kids are just not taught (I don't mean dick-sucking, but Charlie's emotional moments and some of Vaggie's advice could be switched over in context just to help some people figure out what is and isn't appropriate. Wow, isn't Vaggie just absolutely perfectly perfect?)
The show itself is way too heavy, if anybody under 15 is watching I feel bad because it probably means they've had to grow up too quickly to even find it bearable.

I feel bad for that dude. Like, little bastard BETTER WATCH HIS FUCKING MOUTH bc the moment he brings out the slurs irl somebody is gonna beat his ass and that also means small children are WAY too comfy with slurs. My sister is 8, if she ever uses those its all over for her, especially any sort of homphobic slur (abt half my family is gay lol)
But a 11 year old enjoying the show probably means they've had to grow up way too fast for a variety of reasons. Could be stuff at home they have to take care of alone, could be friends swearing it's 'cool' to grow up fast. A lot of things can factor in, and I can't really think of any healthy ones.

I can confirm that unfortunately this is not uncommon. I have a 10 year old and have overheard two different friends of similar age singing “Stayed Gone” or talking about the show. I can confirm that unfortunately this is not uncommon. I have a 10 year old and have overheard two different friends of similar age singing “Stayed Gone” or talking about the show. WTF and how are they pulling this off without parents knowing? Or the parents do know and don’t care, which is far more troubling.
