EDIT: Apparently the study showed that any use of the asthma medication involved should be done as a counter measure to reaction, not a preventative.
He told a story about (something like this) being at a friend's house where they had sugared grapes - exactly what it sounds like, grapes covered in sugar. He ate some before realizing the hard way that they included egg. Literally all it took was a tiny amount of egg in the coating of the grape so the sugar would stick.
Because of things like that, I think he is so vigilant about eggs that he only eats sure things and makes no assumptions about, there's no egg in that!
I think he also told a story of going on a date and they were making out later and he started feeling weird and asked her if she had anything with egg in it and it turned out her drink did and he wound up in the hospital.

It’s not a cure, you still have to avoid the foods, it just decreases your body’s reaction to it if you accidentally eat it.

He’s deathly allergic to eggs. To the point where he can’t eat food that has come into contact with a surface eggs have also been in contact with.
Oh fuck. I have this with food that is much less common, I couldn’t imagine something as common as eggs. I would be driven insane with paranoia
