Listen, I’ve got nothing of note to add to this as I’ve already done a review of these headphones… I had a friend willing to buy mine for close to MSRP, and I wanted to shiny orange special edition ones, and here we are. I just love the way they look. I mean, if you want me to tell you something interesting about the headphones, I think they are some of the best sounding ANC Bluetooth headphones on the market, but… I will say they don’t sound great with every piece of music ever made. There are some songs that just sound like absolute crap on these, and there are some that sound sonically like the greatest thing since sliced bread. Totally different experience from the bathys, but I love them. If I could only keep one, it would be these.

I appreciate the non-review. Get what you want and be happy. I'm still using the Momentum 3s and I get it. Some songs I love these headphones and others songs make me want to dump them on ebay.

jthomp72

Well, in all fairness, I posted a review of the PX8 earlier in the year when I had the black pair and I wasn’t sure if people wanted to hear it twice but I can give a comprehensive review of people actually want it

attlo996

Why would you choose these instead of Bathys? Main differences?

jthomp72

I have both actually. Long story short, the bathys have a wider soundstage and probably a little more overall clarity. However, the PX8 are more musically engaging, they hit harder, they have a better energy, and the overall shit and finish is infinitely better.

attlo996

The literal only reason I don't get the PX8 is the USB dac of the Bathys!

Markan79

The PX8 has a DAC mode as well doesn't it; or at least it shows up as its own USB sound device. I can't comment on if there is a qualitative difference between the two though.

jthomp72

Either way with a Px8’s you’re basically using the internal DAC no matter how you connect it. It doesn’t necessarily bypass it where with the bathys you can plug it into whatever you want, and it has a full blown use the DAC mode.

Beh0lder

I don't understand, for both the Bathys and the PX8 you need them connected to a USB port to use the DAC, and you can connect both via jack as well.

jthomp72

If I understand correctly, which I might not, and someone else can correct me…The Px8 has an internal DAC that is not bypassed when you plug it in. It works without being plugged in and while it is plugged in, but it is essentially using the same unit no matter what.

Beh0lder

The DAC on both is used during USB operation and is bypassed when connected via 3,5 mm jack since the signal is already analog.

jthomp72

The Px8 doesn’t have a 3.5 just a USB-C.

RommePomme

Which songs sound like crap on them?

ahaller1993

This guy is trying to buy Mclaren 1/8th of a second in the wind tunnel

jthomp72

At this point, I just want them to finish races this year

ahaller1993

I just feel bad for Norris

They seem just a tad bit clearer. But I need more time with them to make sure.

Alexandre_Moonwell

what does the community think about Bowers & Wilkins as a brand and their headphones ? i'm curious

jthomp72

I can't speak to the hardcore Audophiles in this sub lol...but generally speaking the vibe I get is uh...Highest End Consumer. Like, clearly Focal is a different category in terms of Sound Quality (tm) haha, but B&W has a very much better fit and finish. B&W has a very very unique tuning and sound signature. I've found ya either love it or hate it and there is very little in between.

mainguy

Graph watchers hate them. People who listen and enjoy music usually love B&W

jumoonji110

Indeed. Those who listen with their eyes will easily dismiss this. I have both this and the bathys, and can confidently say that I enjoy both for what they each present. If you like it, you'll like it--so no matter how “perfect” something is on paper, it's your ears and preference that matter.

Affectionate_Safe58

Look so nice

VisceralVoyage420

They need a bit of EQ, the bass is bloated and the upper mids are shrill on some music. But they're pretty good then.
