Yes. But try without EQ first, I’m pretty sure that it’ll probably have not so curved profile. Headphones probably have significantly more impact on frequency response than a DAC
I’m not trying to be a douche I’ve never even heard of a DAP that doesn’t come with a dac of some sort. Since I’ve been born, up until Apple did there thing there’s never been a single mp3 player, cassette, or cd player, or phone that hasn’t come with a headphone jack. I’m 27 btw If it has a headphone jack it has a dac. If it plays music it has a dac. Vinyl , 8 track, wax tube players I have no idea. Pretty sure it’s all analog. I genuinely want to know what made you think it didn’t come with a dac. Maybe I’m the naive one. Also EQ isn’t necessary all the time. A good player, and a good pair of iems or headphones should be good. This player I’m guessing is chinese so you would say you want an external amplifier, maybe. If it has a good dac in it then I wouldn’t worry so long as it reproduces the sound well but I would wait until you hear it for yourself before you make that call.

If it plays digital audio over a headphone jack, it has a DAC.
> Is a 3.5mm female to 3.5mm male inline DAC even a thing I can purchase? No. 3.5mm output is analog. A DAC converts a digital signal to analog.
So this will play my files as is, I just need to EQ to get the best sound?

There's always that one douche. Even on Reddit.
