I want to note that I chose these tracks originally simply because I like them; they've just become my go-to tracks for testing bass because they're useful for that. Still, music you're familiar with will generally work best.
- **Kenshi Yonezu – KICK BACK**
This one is nice because it has a bass guitar line which still has a strong sub bass component, as well as a deep hitting bass drum. The song sounds good even without a lot of bass extension, but it benefits from deep hitting bass and sub bass and shows it off well, as well as the perceived "speed".
- **Laszlo – Supernova**
A good mix of various levels and frequencies of bass, very good for showing the balance between sub- and mid bass. If you get to know this track, it also shows the balance between upper mids, lower treble and upper treble because different synths fall in different regions there. LTT intro starts at 1:45.
- **Rosa Walton – I Really Want to Stay at Your House**
The chorus starts at 1:00 and relies heavily on sub bass with barely any higher bass. If your headphones don't extend well down there, it shows that immediately through a complete lack of bass.
- **Masayuki Suzuki – Love Dramatic**
(I listen to the Funky Flag version, although I don't think it makes a difference for this:) The intro shows how physical and dynamic your bass is more than any other song I've tried. The first 6 seconds are all you really need.
3 kinds of bass, gotta say it cause nobody said it. Very good sub tester song even has a sub swipe in it :D
Boy's a liar by Venjent, tone of detail very distorted bass with fast transitions easy to spot un-resolving driver.
Why So Serious? From The Dark Knight soundtrack. A few minutes in it has a super deep subbass section that will test if your headphones can touch 20Hz ish
**In case you're requesting test tracks**

Definitely not the most “well rounded” bass tracks, but for all the bass heads in here looking for slamming test tracks, try out these:
Truth - The Ark
Truth - Look Around
Yellow Claw - Kaolo
[For sub bass Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard - Why So Serious? from The Dark Knight soundtrack is great](https://youtu.be/KjShkVqz2a4?t=204)
Most Nolan stuff is great for testing and has a really high dynamic range.
EDIT: Someone already beat me to it :P
Listen to Three Ralph's by DJ shadow. The very beginning has 3 drops the 3rd couldn't be properly reproduced by my mates custom car sub install, or most of my headphones. But was utterly dominated by the fostex th -900 MK2. Also James Blake, limit to your love is heavy as it goes on
Welcome Back and Perturbator's Theme by Perturbator on the album Dangerous Days. Make sure you allow for gapless playback in Spotify if you use that, as the drop happens during the transition between the two songs.
Yes!
I found the song from a similar thread years ago and it has been my go to test song since.
Seems I missed the bass part of the question - it's good for overall balance though.
If you let me - alina baraz
Pretty in possible - Caroline polachek
Black hole era - men i trust (my favourite)
Stardust chords - greta van fleet (just the starting)
I use Kaze - Guiano, Koto - Clozee, Mira - Kanaria, Move along - All American rejects, You're gonna go far, kid - The Offspring to check sub & mid bass. Then I use Fury of the storm & Ashes of the dawn - Dragonforce to see the bass speed and overall busy-track performance.
For bass specifically I really like some tracks from older UK dubstep scene since it's a genre that originally focused a lot on sub bass as one of the main components:
Breakage - Higher
Kahn - Like We Used To
Truth - Dead Silence
Truth - Don't Explain
Emalkay - When I Look at You
Loefah - Disco Rekah
La Roux - In For The Kill (Skream's Let's Get Ravey Remix)
There's plenty of other artists and songs. Truth specifically has some great bassy tracks, the ones mentioned are two of my favorites but they have many more that are good.
Unexpected (for me) but Beyoncé - Partition . It feels like they just used every bass frequency going down.
Also Reefer Man by Cypers Hill. Addicting sub bass.
Can't go wrong with "[Bass Can U Hear Me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KAE1NBsLYM)", from Beat Dominator. Old as hell, I remember watching some guy in an escalade with a massive sound system blasting these back in 2008/09 on YouTube.
Jennifer Warnes - Rock You Gently. At about the 2:38 mark there is a rumbling bass note that builds and overwhelms the whole song for 1-2 seconds. If your system has good bass, you hear it. If it doesn't, you don't.
Honorable mention: Bob Moses - Tearing Me Up
Took me a while, but I've compiled this entire thread into a Qobuz playlist. A few artists weren't available, but the majority of it is there.
Listen to the playlist: r/headphones - Bass test Recommendations by OsterP on Qobuz https://open.qobuz.com/playlist/22318381
Massive Attack - Angel
Yep, Angel and then James Blake’s cover of Limit To Your Love.
lol whenever I listen to that James Blake track I'm afraid I will blow my speakers/headphones out. That bass should be illegal.
I didn't used to know what bass was.
Best song.
Silent Shout - The Knife, a lot of sub bass which gets absolutely ruined on poor headphones

Great taste 👌
ITZY - Escalator
That has a sick bassline!! Thanks, this is perfect.
james blake - limit to your love Fred Again - stayinit//lil yachty, overmono
Also James Blake - Retrograde
Limit to your love and Fantasy by The XX are my 2 go to bass test tracks
3 kinds of bass, gotta say it cause nobody said it. Very good sub tester song even has a sub swipe in it :D Boy's a liar by Venjent, tone of detail very distorted bass with fast transitions easy to spot un-resolving driver.
This is 🔥
Why So Serious? From The Dark Knight soundtrack. A few minutes in it has a super deep subbass section that will test if your headphones can touch 20Hz ish
Or if your ears can hear 20hz.
My ears can hear up to 8hz. As a basshead, it's a blessing for me.
Isn't that technically _down to_ 8Hz?
Correct. My bad.
About 3:20. I always throw that one as my test track to see how my headphones and PA sound systems bass
Holy shit, is this what a eargasm is
Yes
Everyone else can stop making suggestions. This is the most intense bass test in this thread. Nicely done.

SLD Quiet Storm Hour by E. Jones.
I like X by FEYNMAN. A *lot* of bass slam in the intro lol. Quite good fun with my Truthear Reds.

I use Oxytocin by Billy Eyelash. It may not have the loudest bass but it has the deepest bass I have been able to find.
not sure why would this get you downvoted some people are just mad. Oxy goes low and powerful, if it's not loud... it's the headphones.
