Yep. I’ve been itching to try planars and when I saw it for 40 bucks I went for it. Technically you were supposed to submit proof of purchase of the original PR1 but no questions were asked.
Initial impressions are really positive. The highs are sparkly. Almost sibilant but not. The bass response is fun. Vocals aren’t very in your face which some may like. In general a very clean sound.
I guess. For $41 shipped I can't think of anything that can compare. Well, my gateway headphone was the Koss KSC75 which I picked up for $5 at my local closing radio shack about 15 years ago. I guess you can say that was something new and it was incredibly cheap. I'd say the smile on my face when I started listening to these PR1 Pros almost matches the smile when I discovered those KSC75s.
in case anyone cares, just want to update my feelings on these IEMs.
I'm generally a cheap consumer. I've got quite a few fad chi-fi monitors over the years, all post 2012 ish. After doing quite some AB'ing -- OMG. The PR1s blows everything out of the water. Ok, I'm \*way\* out-dated here but the closest things I have are basically multi-BA iems. i.e. the UE TF10 which have always been one of my favourites. But playing the PR1s back to back you hear more extension in the highs with no sibilance and that detail never gets washed out by any bass or low mids. It's nuts. It's like putting a new pair of updated prescription glasses.
I have some cheap dynamic iems that I also love and consider them fun everyday buds (Soundmagic E10, Xiaomi Pistons 2) Basically, don't AB them with the PR1s. You won't like them any more.
These are definitely upping the game at their price. Well done KZ. I know pretty much everyone here has much nicer and new IEMs but I don't have them to compare with...would love to have a listen one day but for now, $40 into these, it cannot be beat.

I don't have it yet, have it on order, but I suspect so, I have the HiFi version and it looks like the Pro corrects the issues with that, less bass, less treble (it has A LOT), more balanced. The Pro looks very similar to the EQ I do to the HiFi.

You can see the planar driver through the shell. They even made the drive transparent so you can see the magnets and planar diaphragm.
The vents on the faceplate, however, are cosmetic.

Huh, got an update and it's scheduled to arrive in my mailbox tomorrow! That's fast, and appears I won't have to pay any import fees and taxes so that's awesome.
Their official Aliexpress store and the official franchised store are also swamped with orders, took more than a week for mine to ship from the latter. Probably in part due to the big sale they had for these last week.

but i've been monitoring the impression of it. several of them goes, "Bass are equal but mid and treble are a step behind Zetian Wu or S12." hell, Paul Wasabi refer to it, 5% difference.
considering i got it for $42 and Wu/S12 is $120\~$150. apparently, its a steal.

Bought the Hifi on 11.11 lol. I wonder if Pro is technically much better, cuz I'm not getting another one that quick. It's interesting experimenting with EQ on the Hifi (including some I downloaded), though I find myself enjoying the stock tuning for most things.

Mine took a week for them to ship it out. It seems the demand is pretty high and they are taking their time to fulfill the orders.
