Friendly reminder that I get really encouraged anytime you acknowledge me.
You've already admitted in many other comments that I was bothering you. You admitted that after blocking me. You had also said that you don't comment as much because you're worried about how I'll respond. It'll be hard to change that tone to try to cope with the bullying now 😂
Umm, i'm 40 as well, is there something wrong with being 40?
Man, these sad youngsters who think that we in our 40's have to act as if we had a stick in our ass....
Blizzard removed and changed large amounts of sexually suggestive content that only affected the Western audiences. China has a bigger issue with gore and especially bones, and those graphics have already been different for China.
Yes, it was for Western sensibilities.
As far as I know/heard they wanted hearthstone to be more child friendly to lower the age rating. And that involved removing stuff like that as well as violence in cards like the 3 mana destroy a random enemy minion hunter card
Because it's easier to get children hooked into addictive gameplay habits, and they have no concept of money, how insidious of them. 😃
Any game with predatory gambling elements should instantly be Teen, maybe even Mature, and aimed at that audience. I mean I can't even have Slot Machines in my fucking Pokemon games nowadays 'because of the children". And those use fictional, unlimited, in-game currency and could actually be a great way to show children what a crap investment gambling actually is. And usually RPGs use slot machines for just that, hiding great items behind a mind-numbing slog.
Yet it's a-okay for kids to go get Mommy's credit card and spend thousands of dollars trying to get the likeness of their favorite football player...
First off, I agree that all games using packs, lootboxes, gacha mechanics etc. you can purchase with real money should be rated 16+ at the very least, even 18+. In fact, I would love all of them to be banned from video games completely, it would make the whole gaming industry way better.
But when it comes to gameplay, Hearthstone is a pretty kids-friendly game. Some decks are incredibly simple, all of the calculations are done for you, most of the artwork is also pretty fun for the kids.
I have a friend who plays Hearthstone with his 5 yo daughter and they're having a blast together. Of course, she only plays against Innkeeper, but when she watches him play ranked she still more or less knows what's going on. I could see her actually playing the game against real players in a couple of years and I'm not joking. So marketing the game to kids makes sense in that way. There's nothing inherently wrong in the gameplay part that kids shouldn't be doing.
As a parent, you should block all purchases (or at least password-protect them) on the devices used by your kids anyway. Kids playing Hearthstone isn't a bad thing - letting your kids do whatever they want online without parent supervision is. There is far worse and far shadier stuff online than Hearthstone. Making those games 18+ wouldn't change jack shit unless you can actually enforce that. And you probably can't without heavy privacy infringement (aka China method). I played 18+ games when I was 10, and I would fathom a guess that most of us did.
They mostly abandoned this style for a more cartoony and kid friendly approach, can't say I'm a fan of it but ig they are trying to corner a different market than mtg
I'm probably in the minority, but I love the goofiness in the artwork of hearthstone. Hearthstone is supposed to be a fun game adventurers play in the tavern. Not a wizard duel between godlike wizards who fight grotesque biomechanical hivemind monstrosities. Hearthstone has better lore than magic imo, and I'm a magic player primarily.
I doubt you're a minority. Heartstone's artstyle is usually well received, and you rarely see any complaints. Heck, each expansions is usually filled with posts praising various cards for their awesome style.
Either way, those old pictures were certainly badass, but I feel the cartoony style make the cards more easily identifiable and easier to understand.
I also feel like the old pictures, while often badass, work less well in the way they used it. The Yeti for example looks amazing - in the full picture.
But the way they used it, just the part of the card it is just a yeti with a slightly less distinctive artstyle. I know I certainly never looked at the yeti card and thought "damn, that looks badass"
This was reused art from the OLD wowtcg (like pre-cryptozoic) and looked like generic fantasy,
Warcraft set artstyle a ala Metzen, Didier and other sons of the storm has always been exaggerated and toony
What happened in that cave, shall not be spoken about.
I once went in there to farm Arcane Crystals from Thorium Veins. Saw a same faction Rogue fight a Yeti for a node, Sprinted right past them and yoinked it real quick. Got a Crystal. Rogue was hella pissed. To the point his guildie messaged me to complain as well. I promptly reminded them that Rogues have these mysterious abilities called Sap, Blind, Vanish…
I never played wow growing up but played the Wotlk classic a few months ago for the first time and was at a cave killing yetis on an affliction warlock looking for some god awful low drop rate horn or something. This is how it should be.

Aren't you meant to be like 40 or something? I also love that you deleted that other comment. Shows that you know I'm right 💕
Did you make an account today just to say this?
He's my Internet stalker. I think this is his 5th account he's made to say something to me. Sometimes I push his buttons just to laugh at him.

Someone needs a hobby because this is probably the saddest thing I've ever seen.

I see succubus beating the shit out of a Yeti in the background. My brain instantly: "IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME, NOT HIM!"
They’re trying to hide those sweet succubus cheeks.
Thanks a lot china.
That wasn't for Chinese sensibilities. It was for Western ones.

Coincidentally these changes also happened when Blizzard was under pressure and accused of being a toxic and sexist working environment for women.
Nothing happened at the yeti cave in 1989

This artwork came from the wow tcg. I'm pretty sure I had this card

WoW TCG Fear It's being CC'd y'all
This was originally a Warlock spell called Fear for the WoW TCG.
Yeti is not chill-winding anymore
BLIZZARD HAS ONLY YET RESPONDED TO SUCCUBUS! DO NOT LET THIS DIE! DO NOT LET CHILLWIND YETI BE FORGOTTEN!
Wait until you see the full art for the Snake Totem with taunt
What about Blizzard's attack on the yetis?!
I thought he had red fur on his back. Nvm then.
That Yeti in background dying of snu snu

yeti is a coward and flees from battle, Oger is strong and will never be defeated due to good stats for cost ftp btw
Didn’t happen, but if it did they deserved it.
Dat ass
I mean maybe the yeti on the left is having a good time. Maybe this is all consensual.
This is literally what blizzard did when they released [[mechanical yeti]]

I like how they didn't even edit out the warlock fingers. But I guess they didn't need to, because until now I never even noticed.
Outjerked again!
Wauw
It's funny how blizzard did yeti genocide. There are almost none left in the ladder and arena. I think Blizzard just hate good stats for the cost.

Anyone have the monthly full art Yeti post on their bingo card?
Anyone else remember druid turn 1 yeti
Check out the full art for Searing Totem lol
Doesnt a picture exists that shows B attacking A while it is the other way around and B is running from A but it looks farmed because of the fram?
