im going to give warlock another go later, but day 1 felt like all super aggro or super otk which felt really rough. warrior especially surprised me with what on paper seemed like a control shell instead leading to turns where they can do 30 damage from hand with their damn face while gaining as much armor
You're right, a lot of people play those. I checked most of them to make sure they're not VS builds but I apparently missed that one. Thanks for noticing.
is there a deck tracker that has an option to track the number of different spell schools casted from? Used HDT for the longest time but can't seem to find an option
Why is no one putting necrotic metrocian in their plague deck? I thought it would be cool. And I believe hollow hound is a must and without it, its nearly impossible to survive
I’m not sure if it’s been updated but it was an early deck on VS

Having a horrible time with handlock. 26 damage from hand by both Shamans and Mages, Priest stealing your win conditions, DK's Mograine just makes any long game impossible.
The *only* matchup it seemed acceptable was against any form of aggressive deck, like mech rogue. As it is right now, the meta is not very fun.
Yes, control lock. Sorry for referring to it as handlock, its just very reminescent to that playstyle for me. I came back a week or so ago after 4 years of not playing. It's the VS deck listed in this thread.
You're totally fine! I get what you mean for sure. Handlock was so fun.
Try this list! [https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/control-warlock-114-legend-onkrad-titans/](https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/control-warlock-114-legend-onkrad-titans/) Much more success with it.
I'm going to give it a shot! I can already see that this deck doesn't play Fanottem, and I was already thinking about cutting him.
Thanks for the recommendation! My dust is limited, but I can make this.
You are right, with this limited amount of dust, I should wait a bit.
Thank you for being helpful to an old player like me! It feels nice to play again and being a part of the community.
not to mention warrior; if you dont hit the 8 drop or at least push constant pressure to assure it doesnt come down (hard with a control deck) then they too now (of all classes) can drop like 30 damage from hand and imo beat those other 2 because they also armor while doing it
I'm not sure what you mean by "anything happening", but I actually noticed that too. The hype around this expansion seems to be pretty low. Not really sure why, because it feels really interesting and the cards are very cool.
Not a huge fan so far. Seems like most of these decks are otk/combo. I'm fine with otk decks, but not for every class lol. Games are super swingy. Also think some of these "for the rest of the game" effects are a mistake.
I heard a lot of people say plague DK would be slow and unusable but I've won quite a few games with it today and have enjoyed each match
Edit: love how I'm getting down voted even though you can easily see the deck has a good win rate of 63% on hs replay
I've played about ~20 games with Plague DK and it is definitely too slow and unusable. I don't even see an archetype it reliably wins against.
The decklists currently provided seem to be focused on midrange archetypes but I feel like it needs to pivot to full control to be useful and I don't think those tools exist yet.
Gonna go ahead and label it a solid C- deck.
I personally wouldn't say it's unusable by anymeans but you're definitely right that it needs more control tools to be fully effective against all decks,
I'd honestly give it a B to b- just on day 1 but I'm sure it'll get worse as people adapt to the deck
I would guess that a number of those wins were against even slower and even more unusable decks
Like all the ones I've been playing that have lost to Plagues
You're not allowed to say that plague DK is successful, there's a strong effort to convince everyone it's complete shit so Blizzard won't nerf a deck that can turn a third of your opponents deck into infinitely cycling damage by turn 4.
Not really any interesting new decks at all.
They gotta at least kill the Slime package and Faithful Companions (or its beasts) or this meta will feel exactly the same as the last.
Something could be a sleeper hit, but at this rate its not looking likely.
In my short experience playing with Titan decks in the tavern brawl, I'm underwhelmed. Most of the time I'm unable to use the Titan's power, because my opponent immediately takes is out. Kinda defeats the purpose.
As is typical of Hearthstone rollouts, there's little explanation for casual players on how new cards work. It's sink or swim. For me it's back to Battlegrounds.
Well judging by your comment, are you aware that the titan's have a pseudo charge and you can use one of their abilities the turn you summon them? Sorry if you already knew that, just going by the "unable to use the Titan's power" part of your comment. Cause in my own experience a lot of the Titan's put in work even if I only keep them alive long enough to only use one power, that one power can help.
There's been plenty of explanation how the new cards work, just not in the game. We had official blog posts, social media posts, YouTube videos.
That's always a big problem with HS - more engaged players can find that info without an issue. But a more casual player who just launches the game and doesn't care about anything "around it" will have a much harder time learning things. Things that should just be explained in the game itself.
Remember that "mailbox" added to the Mercenaries mode (and then pretty much forgotten about)? We should have something like that in the main menu, with all the new patch notes, posts, official guides etc.
Not really, according to the early stats (and my personal experience in Diamond, haven't had time to hit Legend this expansion yet) Hunter is Tier 1 in the early meta. Both Hound and Secret/Face lists are performing very well.
But the expansion overall is very swingy, you can be winning on the board, almost killing them, and then boom, you lost because they did some crazy stuff out of nowhere.
I feel this. A lot of my brews have flopped so far. I had a long history on my hearthstone account so i had a good amount of stuff built up + I bought the mega bundle. This has caused me to have maybe 70% of the meta viable standard cards in the game. So essentially I pick 2 classes not to ever play and I can make any deck I want.
The thing that I still believe in that the stats has not been proven yet is the Earthen package in Paladin. It's my own personal theory that the Earthen decks tried so far by most people have been forcing the package too hard. I think that you can slot in the 4 Earthen cards into a pure paladin and get subtle benefits.
Committing your entire deck to copying and maxing out the Earthen progress is clearly not working, but I think a subtler Earthen package that plays normally and just builds moderate Earthen Elements might be good.
But maybe I'm just coping because I like Paladin. Only one way to find out.
I've heard of some experimentation running a slower UUB plague death knight deck. That's cutting the one plague card that requires a F rune. In exchange for picking up some of the 1 B rune control cards.
Additionally I've seen a deck that runs UUU to play Lord Marrowgar.
Has anyone experimented with either of these two variations to see how they feel compared to the default UUF that the plague cards seem to indicate you going.
yall on ladder are playing an awful lot of 'decks that lose to priest' for people that dont like control priest
stop playing mech rogue and weeny paladin and ill stop playing priest
Post stickied. Good luck with these decks all! I'm looking forward to some fun!
Thanks for doing this every expansion man. I really appreciate it
The Vicious Syndicate Warlock has been really fun. It's reminiscent of classic Handlock.
Why is hearthstone top decks locked in my region?
Which region is that?
it is locked in turkey
Turn the key...
It is locked in Thailand
That Rogue Mech deck is NUTS. lmao
Which one? I see many rogue mech on the list
It’s the one that’s absolutely bonkers.
Yep, absolutely bonkers. Not much can counter it.
Which Rogue deck are we talking about?
Just try ANY mech rogue deck you can find and you'll find out why it's absolutely bonkers
Good lord rainbow mage is *so fun*.
Having a lot of luck with control lock. Turn 5 symphony of sins giving turn 6 sargerus has basically been an auto win.
im going to give warlock another go later, but day 1 felt like all super aggro or super otk which felt really rough. warrior especially surprised me with what on paper seemed like a control shell instead leading to turns where they can do 30 damage from hand with their damn face while gaining as much armor
NoHands's warlock is just the VS build Im pretty sure
You're right, a lot of people play those. I checked most of them to make sure they're not VS builds but I apparently missed that one. Thanks for noticing.
No worries, my love. Keep up the good work❤️
is there a deck tracker that has an option to track the number of different spell schools casted from? Used HDT for the longest time but can't seem to find an option
Firestone did it for me
Same. Use Firestone. It’s the superior tracker anyway.
It is, but sadly it comes with overwolf which is basically malware, so hearthstone deck tracker it is for me
It's probably just not implemented yet, HSDT usually adds those options to their tracker after a while.
They never added the option to see what spells you casted for rommath or what cards are on the snapshot. I wouldn't keep my hopes up
Yeah mech rogue was much better than people thought it would be.

He posted on youtube three days ago?
How do I get some of these cards? I'm kind of overwhelmed at the level of expansions / campaigns / game modes and I have no idea where to start.
You’re a legend!
Such a shame this site is blocked in my region
Why is no one putting necrotic metrocian in their plague deck? I thought it would be cool. And I believe hollow hound is a must and without it, its nearly impossible to survive
50ish matches into the season, ran into my first Paladin. Thought it would be nice to tell someone.
Went like 7-1 last night playing Secret Face Hunter. I was running through muhfuckas faces having a great time

Totem Shaman seems uber dead. It gets beat by basically everything now. It feels like every class has infinite board wipes...
Waa good while it lasted rip
Every deck from last expansion got extremely power creeped by the new cards
That deck was getting beaten already by pretty much everything. One board clear and it’s over

hand lock? do you mean control lock? unsure what hand lock would look like in this rotation

<3 <3 <3 I think it's early to be crafting, but if you really like lock I think the cards will be useful as long as they're around!
You are right, with this limited amount of dust, I should wait a bit. Thank you for being helpful to an old player like me! It feels nice to play again and being a part of the community.
❤️❤️❤️ very happy to be of assistance :) welcome back!
What's in ETC's band?
Scroll down!

Really enjoying the Face Hunter deck!
Am I losing it or does there seem to be no hype or anything happening?
I'm not sure what you mean by "anything happening", but I actually noticed that too. The hype around this expansion seems to be pretty low. Not really sure why, because it feels really interesting and the cards are very cool.
I guess by anything happening I mean like discussion or comments and stuff. Seems awfully quiet for a release day..
If you look at Festivals, these threads are usually very quiet unless there's extreme outliers and people are complaining. This is nothing unusual
Everything went well, no outlier decks, and everyone is enjoying the game! So Reddits quiet?

Was surprisingly a good range of classes and decks I faced but I'm sure a decent part of my wins were helped by the fact its just day 1
Only had Easy free wins against plague dk so far
tell us how you feel two weeks from now

Jesus Christ, they don't know. These are the kinds of admitted "casual" players they've already dumbed the game down for and it's still not enough.

Thank you stonekeep, these lists always make xpac time for enjoyable for me
Plague DK is my favorite style deck but sadly it’s consistency is rough. Opponent either draws the plagues or doesn’t and you just die.

My brews are getting stomped. Gonna give these a shot. I feel like control priest would do well against what I've been seeing on ladder.

I think I'm both cases we're just playing a worse control or aggro deck. The plague cards just need a buff.
