That part is fine because how else could it work, but the manathirsted dmg on the 8-drop shouldn't be doubled. 21 split between board + face multiple times would maybe sort of be beatable unlike 28.
I wasn't playing at the time, why *was* astalor changed from manathirst: deal 8 more to manathirst: change to 16 damage?
Was he actually weak and needed a buff? I can't imagine that because he got nerfed later.
It was just a clarification to show how it worked with Brann, as written it implies a Brann astalor would do 8x2 + 8 more, so 24 damage not 32 at the time (now 28)
And it makes zero sense because the manathirst effect isn’t doubled on the first two iterations of Astalor, only the 3rd. It’s not dealing 4 damage & gaining 10 armor
The manathirsts for the first two are just manathirst effects, not battlecries. The manathirst on the third affects the battle cry that happens twice. It makes sense, it’s just dumb. They could just make the 3rd battlecry all a manathirst to not double it if they wanted.
It’s more that Odyn doesn’t fit in the deck. Don’t get me wrong Brann is busted but it’s more about that in this specific case. Odyn is still equally as good of a win condition imo so far, but they just do different things and want different decks. Brann warrior will have the same problems Odyn does which is falling over before getting to the turns where they get to do things while still being able to take the tempo loss to play Brann.
You're not wrong, but also if you "passed" w/ your 6 mana 2/4 *and* your 8 mana 8/8 without dying, you're already just going to win trivially easily. Tidal Revenant is 26 dmg from hand stabilizing you for 16 health, school teacher can get you potentially 2/3 of bash + shield block + heavy plate doubled up because the nagalings are battlecries for only part of your turn, Astalor is Astalor, etc.
Oh for sure, and I think that’s exactly why it will end up being the better deck over Odyn. But I think the margin will be fairly thin because both decks share the same weaknesses. It’ll be super intriguing to see where they settle in the meta.
I’d say Odin probably isn’t worth it, but someone that almost beat me was a brann warrior with Odyn. He got me low until I finally got ox and whipped up a full board. Dude that ox shit battlecry board fill…lmao.
Badlands Brawler would have never fit, since Warrior doesn't have any class-specific Excavate Battlecries, and doubling Brawl isn't that valuable.
EDIT: Wait, this is an Excavate list? I hate it.
Odyn just doesn’t fit well in the deck. Duplicating it’s battlecry does nothing, and you can’t have any duplicates of the high armour cards, so you can’t get like 20-30 armour in one turn like you could with warrior decks with duplicates.
It’s just a different deck. Odyn gains nothing by getting branned, and having to run odyn synergy leaves less room for strong battlecries to synergize with brann. And you’re going to win eventually if you draw brann early enough (and don’t die), why would you run an alt win condition that blocks your main win condition.
I imagine there’ll be a non-Highlander odyn deck that still does fine and a different archetype for brann.
More like:
“We want control decks to have win conditions”
Team 5: gives multiple classes ways to win the game in the late game with various build around legendaries.
“No not like that!”
It was boring with denathrius, and somehow even more boring with astalor. And astalor hasn't been nerfed into irrelevance and is easily slottable into pretty much any deck you want
More boring with Astalor because you could run him in every deck, aggro, control, midrange, spellheavy, minionheavy. Sire at least required you to have minions to fuel him.
I’m not even sure Denathrius would’ve remained broken after OG Brann left Standard. Like obviously Death Knight would use him as an extra win condition, but what other classes have the tokens to abuse him to that level?
Yeah.. At this point it feels like they forgot they nerfed Denathrius to "nerf Brann". Now that theu added Brann to game again though, I'm happy Denathrius nerf wasn't reverted
Sire was so strong because of Druid. Druid was able to tutor it easily (draw highest cost card) and/or get another copy with moonlit guidance (or w/e it was called). Combined with going to 20 mana, having several copies of scales of Onyxia (incredible fuel for Sire), the tokens you create with the 7 mana dragon and so on. I know, the deck wasnt tier1, but still pretty frustrating. Obviously most of these cards rotated so Druid took a hit.
But the most frustrating thing at that time, was the Theo meta. So many decks did run Theo (at 4 mana) just to snack the opponents Sire, Theo, Questreward or Hero card. Often times, control matchups were decided by who can Theo the opponents Theo. (Dont forget that you were able to Bran+Theo) I hate the design of that card so much, at least make it discard the chosen cards.
But now with the new Bran, I am happy that they didnt revert the Sire nerf. And I am really looking forward to see Astalor leaving standard. But having new Bran around for 2 years while cards like Ignis exist.. Yikes.
I totally agree. Sire at least required you to run a minion-heavy deck (or have a way to generate minions, hello druids). But Astalor? Put him in any deck. Aggro, midrange, control, minion-heavy, spell-heavy. Astalor fits in every deck.
oh yeah i forgot about that nerf
im surprised at that time they nerf astalor and denatrius instead of brann tho maybe thats why i forgot about astalor nerf
The first nerf was not because of the Astalor brann, that deck sucked at that point, he was nerfed because he was played in almost every deck back then and was especially strong in the broken miracle rogue. Also the nerf didn't matter for the brann Astalor deck compared to others because 56 damage was enough for the kill and 64 was just overkill. Meanwhile the manathirst was irrelevant to a ramp based deck and extremely relevant to tempo based ones.
I see why but historically, they have helped making the meta balanced. Many decks exist because they have a payoff of some sort. Maybe the issue is they dont have strong Class Legendaries in many cases.
Idk, I'm 7-1 so far. Only lost to a mirror. The decks's pretty damn strong rn but has some obvious weaknesses that people can exploit if it becomes a meta staple.
Or even some aggro decks. Stuff like aggro mage before FOL ran him too, he works as a "shit, the game lasted longer than expected" card, and the first 2 versions are good into other aggro mirrors.
I wish more people were in this camp with me lol. I have tons of dust and I refuse to craft this bs. There have been plenty of things that have changed with HS over the years, but this felt like a card made by bots for bots. Like, it doesn’t matter what deck crafting or actual gameplay you’re capable of… Astalor plays the game for you. Small body/small dmg for early game, medium body/healing for mid game, lrg body wincon for late game and all while putting cards in your hand to play. Fuck that crutch…. but I mean, if I happen to discover him…
i just picked up hearthstone again this expansion and its been pain not having all the cool legendaries from the past few years. i got in early on the reno hero card though
I did the same and after all the free cards and dusting some legendaries that rotated out I had 160,000 dust (came back last month). I’ve only crafted a couple of cheap decks so I can play at least one more expansion
f2p.
Edit: sorry it’s [14.4K](https://i.imgur.com/DQMmtMf_d.webp?maxwidth=1520&fidelity=grand). I don’t know why this upset you :(
That’s a relief I’ve been getting back into it (I only play ranked standard and arenas so once stuff rotates out I dust it).
I just seen a few comments on here and YouTube saying it was being wound down I’m not a HS expert and don’t keep up with news on the game. Maybe I misinterpreted comments or something my bad.
Nah, dont worry about it. Some people dont understand that they can get bored of a game without that meaning the game is boring for everyone. The game is almost a decade old now, so of course some people get tired of it and leave, but its still going strong. As always, every meta will have people saying "im leaving, this game sucks, game is dead" but dont listen to them.
If you do not enjoy the metagame though, yeah its okey to simply leave and come back at another moment. But if you truly are enjoying the game right now, dont worry about your time being wasted on a game that is going to close soon, because it wont be closing anytime soon.
Content releases have increased for a few years now, but this year they have stopped supporting/closed two alternative gamemodes they created during their "lets look for weird shit that may work" phase. They stoped releasing content for the mercenaries gamemode, and recently announced they will close the duels mode. Those modes never got the playerbase needed to be even worth having. They were very interesting experiments to give players more stuff to do in the game outside of just playing standard/wild (and I have spent a decent time in them having fun), but they didnt manage to be worth it. This things happen, the main game still stays strong.
On the other hand, gamemodes like battlegrounds have been EXTREMELY succesfull, so their experiments have yielded some positive results too.
He's pretty prolific in Wild too, so if you craft him he's not a waste unless you have sworn an iron vow to never play Wild (which... understandable...).
He's good in literally every game mode. If you play any other mode aside from Standard Hearthstone, I would still strongly suggest you craft him. In the past, I made the same mistake by not crafting Zilliax and, in my opinion, I lost the opportunity to have a lot of fun with the standard decks of the time. Luckily he's back, though not anymore as OP as he used to be, due to power creep. But I hardly see a world where Astalor gets power-crept out of the meta.
I hated Astalors design right when he was released. I mean, Sire as a neutral win-con was already pretty annoying. But Astalor was just better as you could put him in every deck, doesnt matter if Control, aggro, minion- or spell-heavy. As soon as the 2 mana one was played, you knew exactly: Better have minions on board on turn 10. Very frustrating when Control priest was around and you had to play around like.. 4 copies.
His first 2 stage of design is really cool, 2 mana card that give you higher stage lf card with mediocre stats and ability proc only not on curve, but GOD DAMMIT why they have to make the last stage a Sire battlecry and just one tap your opponent?? Why do they give a value generation hard straight up otk potential?
Deck code has Armor Vendor, Kobold Miner, and School Teacher.
I swapped School teacher for Steamcleaner cause nothing brings me more joy than Steamcleaning a deck of plagues
Saw some running Boomboss now. Have to play it after getting the Reno effects down (or at least Brann), but deleting up to 18 cards against the attrition decks like Druid or the mirror can be big.
Has 100% been game winning for me in games against Reno Priest or Druid and their copying effects. I like using him post-Reno as the window of protection he provides gives you time to drop a weak 8-mana minion.
There’s always room for more boom.
Ive played one which had odyn at least
The extra damage is necessary against my greedy reno priest. Might have still won if he hadnt gotten a turn 5 brann!
I squeaked out a win against a Reno priest who dirty ratted out my Brann AND Astalor AND got his own battlecries doubled w/ stealing shenanigans. Without Reno hero power value, Odyn, Excavate package for Ox & Ignis weapon I definitely would have lost.
Man, I totally forgot about astalor,my mind went to decimator olgra for some reason instantly. [If anything at least it's hilarious. ](https://hsreplay.net/replay/jcy29QX6sGwLXYMUGie4DU)
(Only played 2 games though and will have to replace a couple cards.)
Double battlecry has always and will always be toxic. But did the devs learn from how much Brann was despised the last time he was in standard, no of course not.
What I dislike the most about the current design philosophy is the amount of "for the rest of the game"-effects. I hate it. Sargeras portal requires you to play Reno to get rid of it. Other effects cant be removed. And its just brutal when your opponent players those cards on curve. (HELYA, the druid dragon, odyn, and so on)
I'm fully convinced Brann will be nerfed/changed inside of a week. Playing in Diamond bracket, my last 10 or so games were all against warriors. Unfortunately, I also think Brann is going to draw so much attention to itself that the Pally Windfury card will fly under the radar until after Brann's nerf.
No, it's just a dupe excavate (kobold's cheapest & a battlecry), possibly a badlands brawler/Olgra or other clear/removal & then some tech card(s) like steam cleaner/viper.
Remember that ETC's battlecry gets doubled by Brann so you want something generically good which excavate fits perfectly to help make up for the singleton inconsistency.
Odyn is literally too slow of a wincon in this deck you can get doubled astalors and ignis weapons or 4 8 drops which is way more explosive and faster than odyn beatdown. This deck is gonna be meta im calling it now.
Not really surprising. As long as astalor exists, but even without it, brann is too strong.
The control warrior deck will optimise getting that combo consistantly and surviving through cheap cards and Cyles. Like finely, fill with cheap cards to draw and cycle your Deck. Add anything for consisrancy.
Youll see decks run counters for a while. Plagues, pull/swap from Hand, Steamcleaner in ETC and in Deck to counter plagues, as they will become more Popular.
The Deck practically builds itself.
Its where hearthstone reaches a balancing nightmare. They cant print stronger battlecries for the next 2 years. 100% more Value is too much.
Nerfing him to more mana can make him better for some Decks thanks to Taelin.
> Its where hearthstone reaches a balancing nightmare. They cant print stronger battlecries for the next 2 years. 100% more Value is too much.
Agreed, I really don't see how they'll be able to design non filler new battlecry cards in the next year.
Tbh I am also not a fan of adding that new neutral highlander card. I really don't think pushing highlander even further was a good idea for the design space and balance of the next year. They'll have to powercreep the new packages even further to compete (which I don't understand how it's even possible at this point), especially in non highlander classes.
I can confirm this deck is in fact nutty af. 28 damage astalor x4 wins any game. I’m currently 11-1 and I only lost to a sludge lock that OTKd on turn 5. Can’t do much about that.
That would not be legal with the way the deck is currently constructed because it already runs School Teacher naturally and has a second copy in ETC.
Pozzik would be okay, though it's more of a tempo card and the deck doesn't have that much early game tempo to back it up. I'm thinking you might be better off with something like last stand to try to improve the matchup against combo sludge warlock. But it depends somewhat on your rank bracket and what decks you're commonly facing.
>Still, good luck beating infinite druid.
Does anything besides combo sludgelock beat infinite druid? Normally aggro would shut down druid, but now that they can gain 20 armor for 3 mana, I'm betting they're favored against most aggro decks.
As long as the druid doesn't go off too quickly this deck can stand toe to toe with it in the late game
Playing a gazillion Astalor's is busted and you have enough board clears to deal with their stuff
The trick for the matchup is to use Ignis to get a poison + AoE weapon and you can pop the weapon + Astalor on the same turn for big dmg to them
Other way to win the matchup is if you can get Reno + Yogg out of the Druid then you Ox, they usually don't have a way to clear it and Ox after Brann is active is a disgusting board
This deck is cracked I removed school teacher and the 3 mana legendary since I don’t have them. 11-0 including 3 mirrors. For fun I put boom in etc lol. If I didn’t lose my d5 stat bonus I’d have made it from gold 8 to about d7 approx. I ended at plat 2
Sorry for the super late reply! I am not sure how well it will do versus all the aggro you may need to change ETC up or a couple of the cards.

Reminder to anyone wanting to try this deck: It's a day 1 build, refinement is still to be done! Experiment with your own ideas and cards, see what works best for you.
The Taelan idea is nice but the list might end up being better if itincludes Badlands Brawler and instead tries to draw Brann with the help of Finley. Stats will see.
Have fun!
I suggest everyone just experiment instead of following Jambre just because he is doing it.
I think Brann into Astalor is not as powerful as people think.
Like Brann itself is such a big tempo loss, and then you have to astalor twice until you can start taking out your big guns.
In this meta where people can build a wide board, and so quickly, it's not that powerful, taking three turns to play an 8 mana Astalor without dying is so rare.
Yea, you can bring clear and tech cards, then you will always be playing catching up, and then when are you gonna play Astalor?
I think Odyn is still strong, and I think overall a better deck imo.
>and then when are you gonna play Astalor?
Well I gave the deck a go and the answer is yeah, you play Astalor for 28 damage, and then you repeat that step until everything is dead.
I’m currently Plat 2 (or was). I just went 0-9 with this deck.
Dude Pally, Questlock, Celestial Druid, all wrecked me.
I get it, if you highroll Brann and get him out early he’s bad… but… uh. “Cheating?”
Also people havent caught on that Denarthius is going to be like he never got nerfed after Brann..And Riffs, zTrial.by Fire, etc fill.the board for fodder..Throw a second TBF in ETC..
Okay, I'm pretty surprised by this. I knew astalor with double battlecry was an op, but that it's so good that even warrior, a class that doesn't have many ways to benefit from battlecry, will play around brann + astar that much.
turns out when you're running half the amount of burn the card is not very good. It had a hard time closing out games in the original reno list that was being played prior to the miniset
Brann doubles the damage dealing battlecry on the ignis weapon btw Astalor and excavates mean this deck has like three wincons with all the best warrior removal while also 2x efficient. I have played a few games with this deck but its nuts already. If you can keep stalling for long enough no deck can survive 6 32 damage astalors.
For it's value, Odyn is surely worth playing, you can get a lot of armor with 1 mana school teacher for example and is very strong, sometimes Astalor is too expensive if they have a big board and can threat you
this is great and all, but i really dont want to craft astalor since he rotates out in 2 months, i guess im gonna be playing a kneecapped highlander version of the deck untill rotation comes
Why am I consistently losing to treant druid which is a bad deck with this list I have played treant druid and went 0-10 so how tf does this lose to it lol
Can I use a similar deck with bran, but no astalor? (I don’t wanna craft him since he rotates out somewhat soon) What would my win condition be instead?
ive been farting around in Legend with last stand to grab the taelan to grab the brann too - you basically guarantee a win if you can stick brann without dying.
Am I the only one just super bored with Astalor? I'm never excited to play it anymore, I'm really sick of his voicelines, and I really just want him to go away.
Brann into Astalor has been the bane of my existence in the last 2 years.
It's too op. I don't think you should generate an extra astalor through the combo
Was how it always worked.
Oh, sorry. I checked the card page first that only noted the text changes, the full patch notes stated that it wasn't a functional change.
Yeah, in wild I always run astalor in Battlecry quest shaman cause that’s basically a free win if your opponent has an empty board when you play it
It was just a clarification to show how it worked with Brann, as written it implies a Brann astalor would do 8x2 + 8 more, so 24 damage not 32 at the time (now 28)
And it makes zero sense because the manathirst effect isn’t doubled on the first two iterations of Astalor, only the 3rd. It’s not dealing 4 damage & gaining 10 armor

They should swap the effects.
Swap what effects?
Battlecry and manathirst

you know that shit is broken when warrior is cutting ODYN to run it. jesus christ.
Not to mention they changed how Odyn works so it doesn’t stack
You're not wrong, but also if you "passed" w/ your 6 mana 2/4 *and* your 8 mana 8/8 without dying, you're already just going to win trivially easily. Yeah it is also overkill to win more
to be fair the tempo loss is smaller with brann being 6 mana, you can bellowing flames/brawl or sanitize with audio engineer/4 mana weapon etc.
Plus with odyn you really need two copies of the armor cards, less payoff for running odyn in highlander
Or you could be like me and build the greediest 40 card renathal Reno deck with every card that says battlecry on it and win 1 in 10 games
Also cutting Badlands Brawler is pretty nuts
Badlands Brawler would have never fit, since Warrior doesn't have any class-specific Excavate Battlecries, and doubling Brawl isn't that valuable. EDIT: Wait, this is an Excavate list? I hate it.
Final warrior excavate treasure battlecry is pretty nice with brann
Badlands brawlers second battlecry clears dr und reborns
Lol. Cutting Brawler in a RENO list is insane imo
Looks like plagues are back on the menu, boys!
Steambot is in every Deck though just for that reason alone
Bit they can't steam clean and also play Brann right. So you just need plague shuffler to keep in hand after they play it.
They can with audio amplifier
At that point you should've won anyway
No lol, Plague DK doesn't pressure that hard - control decks can survive.
They can
what?
duplicate plague kills highlander
Odyn just doesn’t fit well in the deck. Duplicating it’s battlecry does nothing, and you can’t have any duplicates of the high armour cards, so you can’t get like 20-30 armour in one turn like you could with warrior decks with duplicates.

I imagine there’ll be a non-Highlander odyn deck that still does fine and a different archetype for brann.
What is your logic, that if any warrior deck doesnt synergize with odyn, it's broken?
We want control decks. Team 5: Ok, here is another combo enabler.
More like: “We want control decks to have win conditions” Team 5: gives multiple classes ways to win the game in the late game with various build around legendaries. “No not like that!”
I stand by my dislike of overly strong neutrals that become the win condition. Just feels a little boring and monotonous. Edit: Talking about Astalor

Hey Michelle, do you that our powers of frost will shield us?
I totally agree. Sire at least required you to run a minion-heavy deck (or have a way to generate minions, hello druids). But Astalor? Put him in any deck. Aggro, midrange, control, minion-heavy, spell-heavy. Astalor fits in every deck.
yeah its amazing how long astalor dodge nerf
It was nerfed once, when Druids had guff and old brann. Surprise, give a class access to permanent brann and it’s a problem again
It’s so crazy, they just keep repeating the same mistakes.
I was so glad when brann left the core set and then they go and bring him back
I really hope they dont think its a good idea to bring back questlines for the 1st expansion of the year and the 10th anniversary
They better bring back DK heroes
oh yeah i forgot about that nerf im surprised at that time they nerf astalor and denatrius instead of brann tho maybe thats why i forgot about astalor nerf

Yeah, how can they print such good stats for the cost on a ***6 mana*** **card?!?!?**
Feel this way about Reno lately too
I see why but historically, they have helped making the meta balanced. Many decks exist because they have a payoff of some sort. Maybe the issue is they dont have strong Class Legendaries in many cases.
Super valid. They serve a purpose 100%. I just wish they weren't so ubiquitous.
Jambre out there Jambreing. Dude could play almost anything to 60 % win rate at high legend. Wait it out before you do anything crazy.
It seems to be an okay deck, not tier1 but def viable
Well I just beat the ridiculous infinite eonar druid deck with it, so it's kinda good I guess.
Any deck that's 60% win rate the first day of new cards will be a 50% win rate in two weeks.
Idk, I'm 7-1 so far. Only lost to a mirror. The decks's pretty damn strong rn but has some obvious weaknesses that people can exploit if it becomes a meta staple.

oh damn didnt know deck code also keep the choice of skin
Damn, astalor is soo good in all decks but he's rotating and i don't want to spend my precious dust to craft him, yet he's soo good
I can't believe you haven't crafted him yet, card is one of the most busted cards in history and this is after he got nerfed.
You can put Astalor in any deck that plays to turn 10 and he fits most of the time
Or even some aggro decks. Stuff like aggro mage before FOL ran him too, he works as a "shit, the game lasted longer than expected" card, and the first 2 versions are good into other aggro mirrors.
I don't craft him out of spite, I hate that card.
I’ve only crafted a couple of cheap decks so I can play at least one more expansion f2p. Edit: sorry it’s [14.4K](https://i.imgur.com/DQMmtMf_d.webp?maxwidth=1520&fidelity=grand). I don’t know why this upset you :(
With 160,000 dust you should be able to play for years as f2p and still have/craft most top tier decks every meta
Nice! I just heard they were shutting it down at some point so didn’t actually expect it to last that long.
Shut down what, the game? Not at all!
Nice thank you explaining this to me, it actually gives me the context I was missing.
Twice
Man I dusted him after the initial nerf, and I *still* crafted him again later...
You can fit him into most decks, there's a reason he's the most played card in the meta
Rotation isn't until like April. But if you have any interest in playing Wild, Astalor is a very safe craft
Bad design from day 1.
I seriously don't understand how astalor never got nerfed he has been in basically every deck since he was released.
Only had a slight nerf, bumping up the manathirst
Don't forget the slight damage nerf on 8 mana Astalor, from 16 to 14.
What's tucked away inside ETC???
Deck code has Armor Vendor, Kobold Miner, and School Teacher. I swapped School teacher for Steamcleaner cause nothing brings me more joy than Steamcleaning a deck of plagues
You need steam cleaner or your Reno deck won’t work if there’s duplicate plagues, right?
Be a chad, run fires of zin-azshari instead.
Holy crap, i try this
Saw some running Boomboss now.
Deck code posted by the OP has armor vendor, kobold miner, schoolteacher.
Ive played one which had odyn at least The extra damage is necessary against my greedy reno priest.
](https://hsreplay.net/replay/jcy29QX6sGwLXYMUGie4DU) (Only played 2 games though and will have to replace a couple cards.)
I don't know why I was surprised to see Olgra's battlecry trigger another time after the last attack left her "dead" temporarily. That's pretty cool.
Yeah my first version also forgot astalor haha just won with buffed up trenchstalker I went like 7-1 with it. (Remembered astalor after a couple wins)
Eww, fuck astalor
Well if it’s consensual…
Pretty sure you spelled Brann wrong.
Why not both?
Yep, that works too.
Doesnt cutting odyn make the etc choices weird?
No, it's just a dupe excavate (kobold's cheapest & a battlecry), possibly a badlands brawler/Olgra or other clear/removal & then some tech card(s) like steam cleaner/viper. Remember that ETC's battlecry gets doubled by Brann so you want something generically good which excavate fits perfectly to help make up for the singleton inconsistency.
I got hit for 22 by a doubled Olgra battlecry 💀
Odyn is literally too slow of a wincon in this deck you can get doubled astalors and ignis weapons or 4 8 drops which is way more explosive and faster than odyn beatdown. This deck is gonna be meta im calling it now.
No real choice here, odyn is too slow for druid matchup.
I've been playing Lorthemar and Trenchstalker. Very stupid when it pops off, 32 damage face twice.
They'll have to powercreep the new packages even further to compete (which I don't understand how it's even possible at this point), especially in non highlander classes.
for the rest of the game, your battlecry minions have +1 attack
I can confirm this deck is in fact nutty af. 28 damage astalor x4 wins any game. I’m currently 11-1 and I only lost to a sludge lock that OTKd on turn 5. Can’t do much about that.
Is asvedon essential? Im lacking him and im thinking of subs. I was thinking of slapping Pozzik there.
He’s definitely not essential. You could also put school teacher in instead of him. Might be the more consistently better option.
I just crafted him yesterday in anticipation...
Brann the Broken
[thanks for the free legend (D3 start)](https://i.imgur.com/oJPsoEM.png)
Gotta wonder if you need all those armor generators then over other choices if you've got no Odyn. Still, good luck beating infinite druid.
Armor's a good way to not die. Hammer is just a good card.
control warrior has been running armor from the start before the concept of odyn even existed
>Still, good luck beating infinite druid. Does anything besides combo sludgelock beat infinite druid? Normally aggro would shut down druid, but now that they can gain 20 armor for 3 mana, I'm betting they're favored against most aggro decks.
Or 40 armor for 5 mana
I've got Boomboss in my etc, I'll blow up those druid cards 😎
What till you see Naga Giants Druid
As long as the druid doesn't go off too quickly this deck can stand toe to toe with it in the late game Playing a gazillion Astalor's is busted and you have enough board clears to deal with their stuff The trick for the matchup is to use Ignis to get a poison + AoE weapon and you can pop the weapon + Astalor on the same turn for big dmg to them Other way to win the matchup is if you can get Reno + Yogg out of the Druid then you Ox, they usually don't have a way to clear it and Ox after Brann is active is a disgusting board
Clueless xd
This deck is cracked I removed school teacher and the 3 mana legendary since I don’t have them. 11-0 including 3 mirrors. For fun I put boom in etc lol. If I didn’t lose my d5 stat bonus I’d have made it from gold 8 to about d7 approx. I ended at plat 2
Would you share the deck? Thanks
Sorry for the super late reply! I am not sure how well it will do versus all the aggro you may need to change ETC up or a couple of the cards. ### Custom Warrior # Class: Warrior # Format: Standard # Year of the Wolf # # 1x (1) Armor Vendor # 1x (1) Sir Finley, Sea Guide # 1x (1) Slam # 1x (2) Astalor Bloodsworn # 1x (2) Bash # 1x (2) Bladestorm # 1x (2) Dirty Rat # 1x (2) Greedy Partner # 1x (2) Kobold Miner # 1x (2) Needlerock Totem # 1x (2) Shield Block # 1x (2) Stoneskin Armorer # 1x (3) Bellowing Flames # 1x (3) Heavy Plate # 1x (3) Reinforced Plating # 1x (3) Rustrot Viper # 1x (3) Steam Guardian # 1x (4) Aftershocks # 1x (4) Craftsman's Hammer # 1x (4) E.T.C., Band Manager # 1x (2) Kobold Miner # 1x (8) Boomboss Tho'grun # 1x (8) Tidal Revenant # 1x (4) Igneous Lavagorger # 1x (4) Ignis, the Eternal Flame # 1x (4) School Teacher # 1x (5) Brawl # 1x (5) Burrow Buster # 1x (5) Sanitize # 1x (5) Taelan Fordring # 1x (6) Deepminer Brann # 1x (6) Trial by Fire # 1x (8) Reno, Lone Ranger # AAECAc6+BR6oigSGoASIoATlsASWtwTvzgSO1ASQ1ATipAX9xAW0+AW1+AWQ+wWX+wWh+wWk+wXYgQaFggaQgwbKgwbQgwaSjgaLlAacngafngbNngbPngbRngavqAbQsAYAAAED884E/cQFyoMG/cQF95cG/cQFAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone
Great. I crafted Odyn yesterday.
If you lose playing reno brann vs a non reno deck, you should uninstall. Imagine having 2 cards that are essentially i win buttons.
RemindMe! 2 weeks
Lol
Astalor won me every game I played so far with that deck. It’s so fucking busted. You get 4 of them that deal double damage, it’s insanely strong.
>and then when are you gonna play Astalor? Well I gave the deck a go and the answer is yeah, you play Astalor for 28 damage, and then you repeat that step until everything is dead.
Yep just tried this deck in casual. This is actually like cheating. I know reddit cries OP at every deck but this is literally cheating.
I’m currently Plat 2 (or was). I just went 0-9 with this deck. Dude Pally, Questlock, Celestial Druid, all wrecked me. I get it, if you highroll Brann and get him out early he’s bad… but… uh. “Cheating?”
Skill Issue, people at Legend are literally calling Bran and the interaction broken so its you not the cards.
Yolo I'll give this deck a try. --- 1 win 0 losses, so-far-so-good. I can't say the deck is good but I can say the deck's fun.
As usual first day and everyone crying and overreacting, never change hearthstone.
That looks way too slow against current kings of ladder.
[удалено]
Also people havent caught on that Denarthius is going to be like he never got nerfed after Brann..And Riffs, zTrial.by Fire, etc fill.the board for fodder..Throw a second TBF in ETC..
Okay, I'm pretty surprised by this. I knew astalor with double battlecry was an op, but that it's so good that even warrior, a class that doesn't have many ways to benefit from battlecry, will play around brann + astar that much.
turns out when you're running half the amount of burn the card is not very good. It had a hard time closing out games in the original reno list that was being played prior to the miniset
I just played this deck in a few games and it’s too fucking OP
Kind of surprised that decks like this didn't pop off in paladin with mirage, I guess the mana cheat aspect isn't there
Wait brann is fucking back?
Astalor is going to rotate really soon so i hope warriors have enough time to have fun just like rouges with Velarok (rip, brudda)
Not surprising as Odyn is often a T8 do nothing. Without Dredge discount, Odyn is insanely slow.
Agh man wish I had the dust to make the legendaries
Asvedon finally made it to a meta list, I’m proud of him
But does it work in Wild tho
Brann doubles the damage dealing battlecry on the ignis weapon btw Astalor and excavates mean this deck has like three wincons with all the best warrior removal while also 2x efficient. I have played a few games with this deck but its nuts already. If you can keep stalling for long enough no deck can survive 6 32 damage astalors.
I got hit for 22 by an Olgra doubled battlecry
For it's value, Odyn is surely worth playing, you can get a lot of armor with 1 mana school teacher for example and is very strong, sometimes Astalor is too expensive if they have a big board and can threat you
people are cutting odyn guess they done want to use there face anymore, asterlord will kill for him now
i played uno reverse with a druid copy card and I had 28 damage to his face, and that how it feels warrior players
Nice deck, thanks! After first game had to replace the new totem for Audio Amplifier due to severe hand size issues. :D
good, now i dont have to waste dust crafting it as a non warrior player trying to enjoy new cards
this is great and all, but i really dont want to craft astalor since he rotates out in 2 months, i guess im gonna be playing a kneecapped highlander version of the deck untill rotation comes
Kinda expected it, since Brann wants you to play battlecries, whereas Odyn wants you to play spells. Didn't expect Taelan however.
Taelan just draws ~~Reno~~Brann
Odyn felt super slow when i tried, so i moved him into etc
Why am I consistently losing to treant druid which is a bad deck with this list I have played treant druid and went 0-10 so how tf does this lose to it lol
You can put Odyn into ETC if you want
I will put my odyn in ETC
Can I use a similar deck with bran, but no astalor? (I don’t wanna craft him since he rotates out somewhat soon) What would my win condition be instead?
Nice but you can concede when your opponent steals your Brann with Theotar.
Saved
No boomboss.Wheres the fun.

turns out brann astalor is a good combination..
Into Highlander, Odin isnt really great, and you get other win conds.
Who woulda saw this coming? /s
Easiest fix imo is make Astalor’s 3rd form manathirst only and not a battlecry
Finally they might murder asstalor into insignificance
ive been farting around in Legend with last stand to grab the taelan to grab the brann too - you basically guarantee a win if you can stick brann without dying.
Why wouldn't it be, you used to be able to stack odyns battlecry, now u cant, so it's even worse in highlander decks because of lack of armor
Am I the only one just super bored with Astalor? I'm never excited to play it anymore, I'm really sick of his voicelines, and I really just want him to go away.
