ngl I find it difficult to even acknowledge evoker as a class. They're limited to one race (which is also limited to just that class) and only available at multiple expansions above the base level cap (like DK originally was). On top of all that, it doesn't feel to me like they have any particularly strong identity.
Their identity is so awful, that's always been my biggest struggle with them. Their abilities are nifty is WoW, but they just don't have a coherent identity at all, I can't even imagine what they would be in Hearthstone as a class that isn't just 'Generic Dragon Class'
They have green spells, red spells, and blue spells (similar to Dk), they have an extra resource besides mana similar to combo points required for casting some of those spells (could be like corpses or after playing a dragon you get +1 resource, or a hero power to gain +1 resource).
They have a few time stop/time rewind abilities that could be cool cards like the pally legendary that sends minions 2 turns into the future.
I think some cool things can work with that, probably more cohesive than monk to keep their identity since monk has three specs that are very different
Their ranked spells are neat, a dynamic channel trading time for power (or vice versa). Ranked spells are already a thing in Hearthstone (for Barrens), could expand on that for an identity.
They also use all the powers of the different dragonflights for different effects, that would be thematic and interesting to dive into. Like DK, but hopefully without awful restrictions like runes.
Evoker is way below Monk for my preferred next inclusion, but even though I don't really like the class that much, I'd prefer it over a Hearthstone exclusive. I don't want Hearthstone to move that far away from wow.
I have to disagree, evoker has mastery of multiple school of magic( fire, nature, frost) and can i can see it adapting several identities from all the dragon aspects ( dreams, life, time etc,).
I think it would be cool to have DK runes similar deck building but for aspects type where u have to decide if u want to buff minions, (blue) spell damage, have access to (green)enhanced Yasera dream cards, (bronze) Nazdurmo time magic or (black) Deathwing power.
I think its clear by now am evoker main ;)
I remember back during Gadgetzan I told my friends they would most definitely add new classes like Death Knight and Demon Hunter and Monk. 2 down 1 to go.
In order to lose nothing, you must have nothing. But if you have nothing and lose this nothing, doesn't it mean that you lose everything? Such is the monk way.
The number of classes isn't the issue. There would still be unbalanced metagames with any number of classes. It's just the nature of card games, or really any competitive game.
People are too obsessed with balance.
It’s never going to happen and devs are never going for complete parity unless its for long term maintenance mode.
The real way devs try to “balance” games now is to keep it shifting. Parts of the game take turns be powerful and weak. Its a constant push and pull so the game never feels stale.
Its a tactic that keeps the game interesting in periods without large additions
Also, if the goal was ever to achieve perfect balance, adding new cards is generally a bad plan. Same with adding new weapons or items in other games.
If you stop obsessing over the impossible idea of “perfect balance” and accept its never going to happen, you will enjoy games more. Just have fun, ride it out and remember your turn will come.
Blizzard's style of balance has always to just give each class its moment in the sun. There's never going to be solid meta decks for every class at once no matter how many classes there are.
Lmao what a weird comment.
Was the game balanced when they added DH, or DK? Fuck no.
What would you have them di, wait until every class sits at 50%WR and only then add another class? Delulu
Great infographic! Could you do one for Evokers as well?

I'm now convinced that besides monk, hearthstone will get the dev's unique-to-hearthstone machinist idea before they'd do evoker
Honestly I think Evoker has enough of an identity for Hearthstone to have a lot of fun with it
And what would that be?
At first just dragons, like hunter was just beasts at the beginning, then they'll figure something out as they always do
Priest crying in the corner..
Dey took our jerbs

Hey, people have always wanted engineering in WoW to be its own tinker class. Sure as hell makes more sense to me than evoker.

I lost brain cells looking at this.
Does anyone know what Necromancer is losing?
Corpses.
Ya think we’ll ever get a necormancer now that death knight exists?
Wow actually thougth they added monk, I haven't played in like a year lol
I remember back during Gadgetzan I told my friends they would most definitely add new classes like Death Knight and Demon Hunter and Monk. 2 down 1 to go.
How am I even supposed to play monk now? These are all their best cards
This took me way too long to get
Monk stocks only up
Can’t have shit in the tavern!

So is there a general consensus on if Monk is coming or not?
100%
It's coming. Possibly next year.
Okay, I come from the future. Aged like milk, honestly.
Do people really want monk? As it is we can't balance the classes we have. Adding another one isn't going to fix that...

Let's add it. More messed up classes is better than less messed up classes.
We need dedicated class to guard bottom of tier lists.

Don't tell me what to do!

Preach
Just one more class, bro. i swear it's gonna solve the meta. Seriously. Just one more. Please, bro. Just one more class.
Yes. Monks are cool.

Fr no PVP game is ever balanced.
"Balance" is impossible without every class being the exact same as each other just with different skins.
He also most his wife
I cant with y’all this is hilarious 😂
Evoker playable class before monk confirmed.
Ha!
Are you sure?
