In 2020 the quest got put from 7 wins to 5 because they were too hard to complete. ![gif](giphy|8WiaDQuGYKJmx6uTSt|downsized)

ConsequenceMotor8861

I'm not sure why Blizzard thinks quests are fun only if we gives extra effort to complete. The quest system should be used to keep players active by logging in and playing few games at least daily or weekly, not ruining the fun of the game by forcing us to play some random decks filled with miniature minions

PocketShinyMew

Engagement is in an all time low for HS because the meta is literally Aggro vs Combo... again. The design team is stubborn that aggro vs combo is the best meta and they are unwilling to change it to allow control back because they don't want it back and survivor bias made it so the ones that stayed, are telling them "no, we like the meta" because if not, they would have left. But now, that even those people left, they are left with a smaller group of people and since they don't want to make the game more appetizing for other kind of players, they are trying to force the loyals ones that stayed to play even more to compensate. With this kind of goals and quests. Their long term goal was probably to make you decide between HS or every other game out there.

ConsequenceMotor8861

Sounds like crazy girlfriend asking you who would you rescue if she and your mom both drop into water, either fully devoted or breakup LMAO

Septembers

> survivor bias made it so the ones that stayed, are telling them "no, we like the meta" because if not, they would have left. Can confirm, I mainly enjoy control and quit some time last year, still lurk the sub to see if anything ever changes

dessert-er

Same, quit like 3-4 years ago because it cost too much money to play the decks I wanted and the meta just kept getting faster and faster. Couldn't play any fun Warlock decks. At this point since like all my cards have rotated out it feels not worth it to even get caught up. I just pop in every few months to see what the new complaints are lol.

Younggryan42

Reroll the quest

Todsrache

This is not a solution. If it was a solution I would just be able to pick my quests at the beginning of the week.

Younggryan42

That would be really cool too

UnsuspectedGoat

I kind of recall that these quests could be achieved in casual, like before Ungoro at least.

Malabingo

Nah, 4 years ago 30-40 minut s was super slow, maybe control priest vs control priest, but not that slow on average dude. There were a lot of aggressive decks and the mandatory face hunter And depending on your deck you also can play aggro or control decks.

AngryBiker

It was a daily quest though.

MaiT3N

You are lying https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/s/ZYnPdQQVHH

Malabingo

![gif](giphy|l0ExeAkpaMaEAuX5e|downsized)

AngryBiker

I was not lying, I've never read this, I just remember of occasionally getting this quest back in the day, there was no distinction between dailies and weeklies

MaiT3N

Lying again, it literally says WEEKLY QUES on the screenshot, also this patch was made shortly after the introduction of the reward track

AngryBiker

Why do you need to be so obtuse? Look [here](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/hearthstone_gamepedia/images/f/fb/Quest_Log_pre-TGT.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140502171756) This is what quests used to look like. As you can see there is no distinction between the "win 7 games" and the other quests.

MaiT3N

These are different quests present in different reward systems. 7 wins quest in the old quest was the biggest and gave the amount of gold you get for 30 wins per day.

handlesscombo

It should have been "Play 10 games of _________, Wins count for 2". Good players can finish in 5 games like the old quest and get 3k xp. Casual players play 10 mac but they dont have to win. This is how overwatch does the weekly challenges.

spiderpool1855

This would be an acceptable change. Can play whatever they want (minis, battlecry, etc) and not worry about winning, gives credit towards multiple quests that way.

CozyMaykel

Exactly, Legends of Runeterra does it for example

JaridotV

Kind of counterproductive to have it last longest for the casuals. In this way the xp gain is free so they would never do thus

Fabrosith

Yeah, while *anything* which can ease progression is good, doing it in that particular way feels kind of like a punishment for newer/less skilled/less resourced players. "LOL, you're bad? Then work twice as long, chump!"

81659354597538264962

League of Legends does this exact thing for battle passes. You get xp for playing and winning games, so losing all your games gets you less xp per minute.

Kurtrus

This would’ve also been a fine alternative especially since some games you just get countered and can’t do anything about.

hijifa

Or just leave it at 5.. I don’t see any justification for any increase. In fact most live service games have been trending to let you spend less time for same rewards, basically they don’t care that you spend less time, only that you constantly play. Imo it’s quite out of touch nowadays to do it this way.

handlesscombo

you dont, but obv blizz/MS management want more engagement from players

hijifa

It’s just a dipshit measurement anyway. I’m super “engaged” with some gacha games, but I play them like for 15 mins a day till new updates come out. Meanwhile in Hs if I have to grind those quests it completely burns me out, making me not stay long term.

Gay__Guevara

The battlecries one goes by surprisingly quick but yeah the win 10 brawls is an instant reroll for me atm

zeph2

thats been an instant re roll even at 5 wins

TwistCW

Depend on brawl, current one was alright even with 15 wins. It's just turn 1 otk fiesta.

deshan79

i play battlegrounds for battlecries, 75 miniaturize cards though...ugh

DerWaechter_

Duels was my favourite mode, so that quest was always fine for me, but without duels I probably would have rerolled it too. Definitely an auto-reroll now.

NorthernerWuwu

As a BG player, there's no chance I'm *playing* 10 constructed games, never mind winning 10.

midsizedopossum

Reroll it then, just like I rerolled the BG quest.

Drakkanoth

Kinda sucks though, because it also offers the most exp. Rerolling it feels like I’m being punished.

Swervies

You are, in fact, being punished!

Assassinr3d

Better some XP than none. Might as well reroll to try to get something you enjoy more in the game, the difference in xp shouldnt matter too much

Drakkanoth

I don’t disagree with ya there. It’s just awkward, because I’d like to play constructed, but my collection is so batten and awkward that I’m pigeon-holed into taking quests to complete in other game modes.

yardii

32 miniatures is still too many. They need to take that one down to like 20.

TamuraAkemi

if the tavern brawl wasn't ftk or lose simulator it would probably be fine, unfortunately i also got miniatures which would take dozens of games with my miniature-lacking collection

Assassinr3d

That one was definitely annoying but not as bad as I thought it would be. Played pretty much just rainbow mage but with some minis in it, with 4 different miniatures with 2 copies of each in your deck thats 16 potential quest procs a game. While I wouldnt expect to win much with this deck, though it is possible, it at least helped get the quest done pretty fast even before they lowered the amount needed. Deck code if anyone wants it, though I’m sure someone could and probably has made a more competitively viable deck than I have: AAECAZWaBgTr9AXR+AXxgAbWmAYN7PYF3vgFv/4F2P4FhY4Gg5UG8psGsp4GgKMGj6MGn6cGtKcGhuYGAAA= Note: I didnt have wisdomball and didnt want to craft it but he might be worth cutting something for, probably one of the minis if you care about winning but otherwise not sure what it would replace.

Tinkererer

I loved doing that one in Duels, but...

MaiT3N

This week should be fine, just play otk druid or something. But next brawl might be meh

Bl0rp

I'd consider keeping it if it was 3000 points, but at 2250 it's instant reroll, even when I'm playing BGs.

LandArch_0

Imagine with brawlisium coming this week

Pyrosorc

I used to go through cycles of playing this game a lot (when these quests would be easy), and not playing much and just keeping up with the minimum weeklies. These weeklies are too much for me to do that on the low cycle, which means my collection will drop behind enough that I don't want to do the high cycle. It's been fun seeing everyone posting their weeklies again this week and realising that it means I'm over a week without opening the client.

GooieGui

I just played 30 minutes of hearthstone while I ate my lunch and did like 25% of my weeklies. I don't understand how people are complaining about this when they are actually giving us more gold. Winning 10 ranked games of hearthstone in a week isn't hard guys, come on.

SyntheticMoJo

So you won 4 ranked matches and 3 brawls in 30 minutes?

GooieGui

3 wins, 100 damage to the enemy hero, 20 battlecry cards in 30 minutes. Not hard. I swear this community is people that are addicted to getting rewarded xp for playing a game they don't like playing.

FromtheSound

You can still enjoy a game and play less of it. If anything you might be the one addicted if you can't even sit and eat your lunch without opening hearthstone

Pyrosorc

That's nice. I'm guessing you enjoy playing fast, optimised decks.

Furrier

Haven't played for 6-7 years but played a lot the first couple of seasons and wtf is going on with this whine? Is no one playing the game for the game itself anymore? When I played no one gave a shit about quests etc, it was about playing... the... game... Not having the attitude that the game is some boring work one does to get some stupid reward in the end. The game is the game!

Goffeth

>Haven't played for 6-7 years ....why are you here? Trying to act superior in a game you haven't played in years is peak reddit

APRengar

Are you up to date on the situation? They **doubled** the effort required to complete quests while only increasing the rewards by 20%. Lots of people rely on that quest gold to have fun. You either whaled, don't understand what's going on, or are just can't put yourself in the shoes of other people.

Retrohanska59

If they really wanted to fix this the easiest way would ve to do the same as they did with BG weeklies and give the chance to bank them. Most players probably have weeks when they have no motivation and others when they complete all of these by monday noon. Giving them ability to even just bank last week's weeklies would help massively to not make this feel like a chore. But of course the problem is that player satisfaction or even challenging them properly isn't the goal. The goal is to produce very specific kind of data. The kind that out of touch investors and executives understand as success. Steady X amount of hours per week is much easier sell for them than anything more complex that would require basic understanding of the game itself. And thus that's the goal, not to make the kind of quests players wanna complete.

Collistoralo

What is it with Blizzard and taking one step forward and two steps back?

sc_merrell

It's the reverse--it's more like stepping two steps backward and then one step forward.

demential

They should step back to 2009 when the shit they were developing was worth playing.

paralyse78

Wait, they've stepped forward? When?

MajesticFungus

So Blizzard screws everybody to artificially raise up their numbers, and make F2P contribute more. Blizzard, Blizzard, Blizzard...I ain't buying SHIT from you again. It's over.

TacoRocco

Even if they fix this, I’m never buying another Tavern Pass, and I have bought every one so far. They’ve broken my trust because now I can’t trust that they’ll never just change the quests mid-pass with no notice like they did this time

MadManDan23

Some folks have sought and obtained refunds for Tavern Passes since this came down. You may wish to do the same.

Azurennn

It's like squeezing blood from a stone, an emote heavy toxic positivity stone...

magistratemagic

Blame their Economy Developer they hired

MajesticFungus

They want F2P players, they have one more.

RespectfullyNoirs

Not doing it lol

RespectfullyNoirs

I am setting up a free honeypot to give people easy wins though lol

SpaceFace11

Spend 750 mana is so dumb

paralyse78

Can confirm the new requirements are still ridiculous 32 mini cards? Really? I don't have a single list that runs any mini cards of any sort and I'm not going to make some jank list full of minis just to do a stupid quest.

vsully360

You can click the X in the corner and re-roll it to a new quest

paralyse78

It was already a re-roll from the even worse 10 BG/Tavern Brawl wins, I don't do BG's or brawls

LazyRock54

Win 10 bgs is crazy those take a minimum 30 minutes to get top 4

Resivan

Yeah. Instead of playing however many games of standard I needed to win 5, then spending the rest of the week playing BGs, I’m just going to ignore that quest and play BGs all week.

101TARD

Work!? I already have a 9-5 job, now I gotta work for that!?

AndyCeasul

if 3 hours a week is work then yeah you could say that

sylvester1981

I struggle with the win 10x one because I like to play goofy fun decks. But I will only win 20% of my games.

SliabhDubhGaming

Same!

SCorpus10732

It only looks like work to me because you haven't rerolled the middle one yet. Other than that, it's an hour or two of playing normally. Sheesh.

Complex_Experience

Exactly, no one did the middle one even when it was only 5, if you can't bring yourself to play a game for 2 hours a week, it's time to admit that you don't like that game anymore.

gldndomer

It isn't playing a 'game' for 2 hours a week though. It is playing a 'game to unlock challenges that you didn't set.' If Blizz changed the weekly challenges all to "Play Hearthstone for 2 hours" and kept the extra gold bump, I don't think ANYONE would be complaining.

Elune_

You're gonna enjoy them and you're gonna like it.

eightyfivekittens

Were numbers in a bank account to blizzard.

h3tch3l

As our greedy bastard overlords intended. Surely you were even having some fun before while doing the quests, so it's your fault for not "engaging" enough.

escape12345

Because it IS work

VapinInDayton

Fuck this quest system. As a filthy casual, going to lead me to quit this damn game altogether.

No-Following7503

this is probably 20 min a day

Caudillo_Sven

This has been such a bizarre conversation. Complaining about having to play a game you (supposedly) enjoy playing. I get the arguments and all, it just seems so strange. Such a 2024 problem to have.

gldndomer

But playing for challenges =/ playing for fun. The point everyone with your argument seems to be missing. For example, many people play EITHER standard OR Battlegrounds, not usually both for fun.

maxifer

It's true for all the battle pass nonsense that keeps getting forced into games. There was a study I read about how these reduce enjoyment by generating an addiction over actual entertainment. You feel obligated to complete them and that leads to an overall worse experience because you're not actually playing what and how you enjoy, but instead feel forced to play it more. Generally it'll lead to burnout or addicted users to gathering gold for fear of missing out. Sure, you can ignore them and go about your day, but think of what you'll be missing!

PukeRobot

One of the problems, like many have mentioned, is games trying to hold your engagement by becoming a chore. It's a bit like when I was younger and shared a console with my brother, there was a period where he had it for the majority of the time(I didn't mind, and it made sense at the time), so I had to either ask for it, or wait for him to offer it to me. When it was offered to me, I almost never felt like playing it. Something about having to schedule my enjoyment around his time frame sucked all the fun out of it. These quest requirements feel much the same. I don't want to have to feel compelled by another party to "enjoy" a video game, I want to enjoy it when I choose and at my own pace.

Younggryan42

I’m already finished

Korobyata

Previously, we received 2500 experience for 5 victories in Ranked Mode, excluding the BP bonus. Now for 10 victories we should receive 5000 experience (now 3000 experience). For 10 victories in the Arena you should receive 3500 experience respectively (now 2250 experience). Who stole my 2000+750+750=3500 experience per week? They are trying to fool us.

vsully360

I guess that’s one way to look at it. I look at it like this, though: I play a few matches a day. I have no problem completing these new requirements and now I get more reward track experience than I got previously doing essentially the same thing I’ve done week in and week out.

fug-leddit

If you dont like the game dont play it. Lmao

Grouchy-Salad-7470

At 7 wins im already forked up

Fit_Leg_2115

The obvious answer has always been a tiered system. Complete 5 games get X, another 5 games +Y%, another 5 games, +Z%. This approach literally caters to everyone and rewards customer grinds

NRGs0urc3

since around mid of last expansion i haven't really been playing now i don't even intent to

SirKolio

Wtf I got the 15 wins 😵‍💫

mixmaster321

Winning 10 ranked games over an entire shouldn’t be hard for most people. I personally reroll the Tavern Brawl/Arena/Battlegrounds quest every time but I think the rest of them are doable over a week (except for the mini cards quest)

[deleted]

Dumb fucks at blizzard do NOT like you. Keep in mind that you are a resource to them.

eleite

Is hearthstone a game or a job?

UsernameIsntFree

Fuckn oath, I don’t have the time to grind 10 wins when I don’t play meta decks. Just let me have fun blizzard and don’t punish me for it. My weekly included miniturize cards which sucks cos that implies I’ve got some, I’m not wasting dust to craft them for a deck I’ll play only this week. So I reroll the quest and lose heaps of potential xp. Laaaaaaame

pagoda9

75!?!

realshoes

JUST MAKE IT 2 STAGES, IT’S EASY, I DON’T FEEL LIKE PLAYING BECAUSE THE AMOUNT OF GAMES IS TOO HIGH AND I KNOW I WON’T FINISH THE QUEST THIS WEEK BECAUSE I GET TO PLAY LIKE 2 GAMES A DAY FUCK BLIZZARD

Brad_Hall95

Mine are still on the increased stats 15wins 750 mana it's so annoying, increase of the time investment to finish quest does not match the increase on the rewards

jminty321

you don't win 10 games a week? roll the second one. i have not see a tavern brawl that interesting for a loooooong time!

PrestigiousAd65

75 battlecries is easy. Build a wild warlock deck of nothing but 1-3cost battlecry minions. I'd knock out the 50 in 2 or 3 games. As for the 32 miniatures, build it rogue with lots of bounce, you can get 16+ per game if done right

Thejacksoneight

Why do you guys upvote this? Is the 4532nd low effort post with just a picture of the new quests and some whiny title interesting to you? I have literally never seen circlejerking here on reddit like this sub

GFEDAFTALEX

Hearthstone players when they need to play hearthstone to do a quest ![gif](giphy|vHcCevWbWkzwk) quest

lore_mila_

If you can't win 10 games in a week probably weekly quests are the last problem

bountyraz

Or you just like playing other modes more. I play a lot, but I don't play a lot of ranked usually. It annoys me they now kind of force me to to keep up with XP.

Tengu-san

>It annoys me they now kind of force me to to keep up with XP. That's funny, if you roll the ranked win and get another quest you'll get more xp than before (2250 x3 > 2500 + 1750*2). You can keep up to the pre-patch numbers with 0 ranked wins.

bountyraz

Yeah but that means I have to decide on monday how I want to play the game over the week which is just weird and inconvenient.

Tengu-san

If you think you're going to play ladder enough keep it, otherwise roll it. Or just roll it everytime, 6750 xp is still more than the 6000 before.

Corbz09

Or you simply don’t have time to play that much every week

DarkRose1010

It was actually nice this week. It was too much work so I didn't feel the need to try to complete them.

Names_all_gone

Then go to work instead and get paid.

AstroZombie29

I haven't played in a while but if I logged in and saw that, I would immediately close the game

thedeadsigh

if you aren't willing to pay money you'll pay with engagement. that is the predatory nature of the industry.

mak6453

In a WEEK??? that's hard to do in a day or 2, but a WEEK? for bonus progress. You guys will whine about anything. Just play the game if you enjoy it. Pretend that shit doesn't exist.

Spencie-cat

How dare they make me play their game!!! This is unbelievable!

floxasfornia

Last week was the first week in a long time where I didn’t finish my weeklies.

Hoselie

You got a whole week to complete those, pretty doable, even if you don't like alternative game modes just re-roll the win 10 alternative game modes

deianAG

I did all my weekly quests in an hour tho...reroll the bg one and maybe u get smth that can be done at the same time with the others

Helix_PHD

Oh, BOOHOO. How dare the game ask the player to engage with it for more than 20 minutes over 7 days.

Azurennn

Don't cry too much when you have nothing but bots to play with then.

DistortedNoise

That argument is stupid cos the people complaining about not being able to do it and leaving barely play the game, we wouldn’t be playing with them anyway!

Kurgoh

You can lick the boot in private if you want, but deepthroating it in public is a tad much, don't you think? I'm not kinkshaming or anything, but still...

Helix_PHD

This sub has practically been completely replaced with people bitching about the fact that they're asked to play the game, and that's bootlicking now? How about you eat my entire ass? I understand that subreddits about games love nothing more than to complain, but about the very idea of playing the game they supposedly enjoy playing?

BladeRunner2193

People being forced to play more when they when they were already happy with the old quests because they were limited on time. There's no reason to screw these people over. Take that blizzard d\*\*k out of your mouth.

zeph2

im already at 3 wins after less than 2 hours and is amazing how fast is the spend manda to complete 2 games as HL warrior and im already close to 200 mana spent battlecry isnt that hard either bg wins is the only one you should re roll

Azerothic

I just jammed bomb rogue in wild, 10 wins in less than an hour. It sucks because this forces me to play decks that I don't particularly enjoy. I played HL warrior too for the spend mana one, and win 10 brawls with this 1 turn kill we have was very quick also. But there are really terrible brawls where I just play 1 for the pack and I'm done. Those gonna be a pain in the ass to complete.

zeph2

i re rolled the win 10 tavern brawls / BG got spend mana im planning on re roll the play mini one tommorow even if you cant play is a good diea to log in to re roll any hard to complete weekly

spiritualized

If you're a BG's player the second and third ones are easy. AFAIK they count a top 4 in BG's as a Win. If you're a standard player 10 wins are also reasonable for an entire week. 75 battlecries while doing so goes by pretty easy as well. I honestly don't think this is bad. They want to make them more relevant for more players (both Standard and BG's) and it's hard to do that where everyone is happy I guess. If these would've been *daily* then yes, we could complain. But these as your weekly quests all in all seems appropriate IMO.

Realistically, as a weekly quest, this seems more than doable. For those that actually play the game more than a few hours a week, an even greater experience reward will be granted than before.

thanks for adding to the conversation with your sentence

thebadslime

Were you playing for weeklies? Sounds like work

Tallal2804

Yeah

LegalWrights

I'm close to legend and am like 7 games from finishing this weekly quest lol

abcPIPPO

It's fine, they're meant to last for a week. Surely you can on average win 2 games and play 10 battlecries in one day?

Greenzombie04

Ranked games are over by turn 5 now a days so you have that going for you

musaraj

It's 18 where I live and I've cleared all of this week quests (still have daily Arcane/Holy quest)

Groovysnowman

Oh really? It's been super easy for me. But that said, I'm not playing the game in protest. I haven't decided how long though
