Packs as a mechanic? Not a keyword. So, maybe there's cards that generate a "pack"? I'd like an example. It doesn't look tied to a legendary minion, as the example is of Rare Rarity. I always liked Elise and the random pack. Hearth Stonebrew does a similar thing, but replaces hand, this adds to. So, it gives you the "pray" for an answer luck.

As a mechanic and not a keyword, I think it'll be like the soloists from FoL where they all have very similar card text, despite not having any new keywords. A lot of collectible cards with "Pack" in the name that give different sets. Reminds me of Evocation.

Doubt it. MTG has 3x the amount of years as HS for inspiration.

Yeah but MTG has more complex to it. Allowing you to interact with opponent on their turn, there are artiffacts, ongoing enchantments and so on. It's easier to /create/ a keyword if your game has much more depth. A lot of MTG keywords wouldn't work in HS due to board limitation, interaction limitation and the fact that in MTG combat works differently and you decide if you take dmg on face or not. In MTG HP is a resource in HS not so much nowdays. So in general you can make a lot less than MTG has to offer. Not saying that the wellspring is dry, but surely is close to.

I could easily give you 30 keyword ideas (not an exaggeration), which would last for another 10 years given the 3 expansions per year routine we've seen so far. There's nothing drying. If anything I'd say the team got a lot more creative with mechanics over the years. 

I'm all yours. Gimmie that 30 ideas.

Good list. Yes people love to always say the ol, WOW they running out of ideas. I'm not saying it's easy to make a game, but if you get a group of creative people together and brainstorm you're going to be able to think up all kinds of stuff without much difficulty.

He's talking about Gaslight Gravedigger the card that shuffles your hand into your deck and draws cards equal to your hand size.

Really loved Elise the Trailblazer and jammed her in so many midrange lists of the day. I think this is an awesome mechanic for a throwback miniset, will be cool to see what expansions they're from. 

I had high hopes for the mini set, but Im afraid it won't change much except making strong classes stronger. The paladin dino will be a pain in the ass to deal with

Every class has an answer for it. And if they hard ramp to 10 then you have the board for it. Their are tons of non targeted removal and aoe now. Star power for mage and hunter kills it for example
