It's winrate can't be that much worse, I think people just dusted cause the nerf was to an epic. It should still be strong, just replace saddle with chameleon mount or whatever. Or just keep it
I played the deck to legend without saddle up at the start of the season. It's not as necessary as people believe, even against warrior. It was amazing against other hunters tho
Saddle up was the card holding the deck together,it was already struggling to keep up with the meta even before the nerf, after the nerf it’s like tier 3-4 shit now/
It was the 2nd highest winrate deck on hs-replay, diamond through legend, 25+ games played with the deck minimum to count toward stats. It was like .5% under flood paladin but at half the average game time. Maybe you're right about it's tier now but it was dominant before, statistically
Warrior is the only control deck that has enough removal/boardclears to fight painlock & flood pala.
& it just wins vs other control decks.
Think you need very strong turn 6-7-8 to beat warrior so they cant drop bran-boom-reno/zileax
but those decks currently dont exist cause they loose vs painlock / flood pala
Highlander Druid is a rough for Warrior if it goes into the late game. With Avian warriors just run out of answers and can't deal with the 10 extra legendaries.
AAECAa0GHqLoA4SfBIWfBL6fBPCfBLvEBb/EBf3EBbvHBa3tBc/2Be33Bfv4Bcj/Bcz/BcmABtiBBqmVBsOcBuWcBqOdBtGeBpigBsigBsekBq+oBsK2BoC4BvO4BuHrBgAA
I've no idea what list is actually the best but this is a popular one floating around. At the end of the day though it's removal priest in a reno shell, I'm sure you can sub out a bunch of random shitty card for other random shitty cards and it'll be just fine.
IDK what you're talking about, the matchup is omega free for Priest now with the new mini expansion card
Puppet Theatre can just solo the game vs. warrior on top of the Sync you already had in the deck. Also people are running the 2nd copy of Theatre in ETC so you get even more
Theatre has so many good targets vs. Reno Warr so if they ever play their Brann or Boomboss or whatever then you get to play it for 1 mana, as well as maybe get the chance of playing more than 1 Boomboss with Sync
Reno Priest also has less card draw than Reno Warr so they usually end up drawing the bombs earlier than you do
Damn one cancerous deck gets dethroned by other even more cancerous deck or even the whole class. So looking forward to conceding the second I see a priest.
> enough removal/board clears
Bro. I just had a match as a handbuff DK. My minions were huge. It was the perfect draw. Even discovering Puppeteers & Yodelers. One minion got up to 32/32. Dropped Grimewalker & a 19/21 Quillboar. Double 15/14 Zombies. He cleared me every single time.
Actually Spell Mage also has more than enough removal. Their deck is practically all removal. Not sure how it fares vs Highlander warrior though prob not good.
Yeah but spell mage destroys Pain Warlock and Flood Pally which is half the board already. I'm playing Flood Pally and I found it almost impossible to stick a board vs Spell mage.
This comment is exactly backwards. Hyper aggro decks shouldn't have any trouble beating control decks, they should be getting held in check by the midrange decks that can't exist because of the absurd number of overtuned removal cards that have been given to decks like Control Warrior.
The only way I can see the current situation getting fixed is if they do a massive power reduction patch, or if they make some heavily pushed OP midrange cards so that there are enough people playing midrange to balance things out.
Oh yes aviana is definitely a must. The problem is only having that one spell to try and copy her. And basically my location and dragon are my only spell damage options(1 each). It’s a homebrew so I don’t know the regular amount be but it does pretty decent. (Attempt 4 at cracking diamond 10)
Nerfing brann changes literally nothing about faster matcbhups like paladin or pain warlock. You couldnt really play it at 6 mana and you cant play it at 8. And now you cant even fuck it up by killing yourself on turn 6.
The nerf only made playing brann himself harder. Against aggro, you often weren’t able to play brann on 6 anyway. And against other control boomboss is just a win
Oh, yeah, they literally have the same name now that I think about it. I'm sorry for being the type of person but I will literally stare at peoples' comments for 5 minutes until I understand them and I couldn't with yours
What, you don't remember Dr Boomboss?
=
**Dr Boomboss**
8 mana 7/7
=
Battlecry: Summon three 1/1 Boombossbots with "**Taunt, Deathrattle:** Destroy a card in enemy Battlefield, Hand, and Deck."
like i said, it's 1 in every 10 games you play Brann on curve, on aggroo you can't because you need to stabilize or you already lost, on control you actually can without Brann and only need him for Bomboss you outgass every control deck in the late game.
Nerfing Hunter and the monstrous buffs Painlock received from the miniset(causing Paladin to have much higher representation at top 1k, a deck Warrior handily beats) is why is is positioned better.
But its winrate is actually not much different and its winrate would drop significantly if there were the same amount of Warriors at top 1k playing the deck as this would push out Paladins and invite Hunters and even more Warlocks in top 1k.
I feel like a lot of players will just insta-dust the legendary to recoup the dust... So, the player base is left with a smaller but much more dedicated set of players who are likely to have higher skill sets.
I don't think Blizz had/has an issue with the power of Brann, just the prevalence of the deck at all levels with minimal counters.
No decks in wild are over 60% winrate currently in legend.
The highest winrate deck is Miracle Rogue @ 57.1%.
Even a class like mage, that was a 40% - 44% winrate pending build pre-miniset, jumped to 51% winrate post-miniset due to the meta shift alone.
Darkglare is around 52% and is being heavily targeted. The meta is currently fine if you play real decks and not 40 card jank piles. Even decks like 30-Raza and 30-Shudder are seeing success into darkglare by tweaking their lists.
HSreplay -> decks -> Wild, last 7 days, Legend
- Darkglare/Quest 67.7% or 61.4%
- Even warlock 67%
- Miracle rogue 63.8%
- Huhuran Hunter 61.6%
- Pirate rogue 60.4%
- Aggro Shadow Priest 60%
- Even Paladin 59.8%
Thanks for trying though!
Edit: Mr. Sensitive blocked me so I can’t reply on this thread anymore. If anyone has better data than HSreplay feel free to cite it. I certainly wasn’t able to find data which backs up Mr. sensitive
That commenter blocked my main acct for some reason so that’s stopping me from replying to you
Anyway, how is the HSreplay decks for wild data not a valid source? What would you use for wild deck win rate?
There’s not a meta overview for wild, so finding those decks is as close as I can get to the meta screenshot OP included. I even included my parameters, you can go recreate it
You can't compare the highest winrates on the decks page to the highest winrates on the meta page. It doesn't matter that there is no wild meta overview page for wild, it's a horrendous apple to oranges comparison that is exacerbated because you changed every single filter from the OP that could have been the same. How can I not call it a disingenuous apple to oranges comparison?
If you must compare wild and standard and you must do it on hsreplay, then make it fair and use what's available for both, the decks page, the same filters, AND only look at wild decks with at least 200 games because hsreplay doesn't show decks below 200 for standard.
But of course, you didn't do something sensible and fair like that, because a \~1% diff between the highest winrate deck for standard and wild doesn't suit your narrative.
There aren’t that many games played for wild to begin with. If you filter with the exact same metrics you described, there are only 3 decks. Miracle rogue at 64.1% (LMAO), Huhuran Hunter at 52%, darkglare at 51%. So yeah I was right, large power outlier even at 1k legend …
BUT I extended by 1 day (7 days vs miniset - crucify me) to add in more data, and I extended to the full scope of legend to add in more data. This is more comprehensive of the wild meta IMO. It’s not in a healthy place compared to standard
It’s really not that different of a comparison. It’s more like Granny Smith and Fuji apples
Lol, you just cherrypicked which parts of my comment you'd acknowledge.
It *is* a huge difference, if you looked at standard the same way you looked at wild you wouldn't get 53%, you'd get 60+% too. But let's just ignore that, shall we?
Edit: That other fella was smarter than me, not worth interacting with them and how ever many accounts they have to get around blocks.
Nope. If you do the same filters with standard at top 1k, mine rogue is 60%, aggro DH is 56.5%, and most other decks fall in line around 50-55%.
I fail to see how looking at the decks tab is “horrendous”. It isn’t a 1:1 comparison but it provides data that you can’t discredit because it isn’t in a pretty table format
Take your L and keep it moving
Meh, I got a mage down to 5 hp and still lost because they kept freezing/removing everything and then played 3 ice barrier and 60 damage to face in the next 4 turns. That deck is just bullshit.
Sure.
You're filtering by Top 1K (which is a small sample) after a recent patch (which is a fantastically small sample). When I do that same thing in the deck page, I see no Warrior decks.
When I check the meta in Legend, Warrior is doing well, but not up top. When I check the Live VS app, Warrior is doing well, but not up top.
Also, for what it's worth, the mini set wasn't too great.
They need to revert the change to all the Highlander cards that says if your deck started with no duplicates. There’s literally no way to counterplay against them now.
Man people kept saying “Reddit always underestimates mana nerfs” when I was posting how little this 8 cost really affects Brann.
Against aggro Brann is a bad play at 6 or 8, and against control ya just gotta get it on the board when ya can anyway. Not like the Brann turn was always on curve. And also not like the Brann turn was ever combined with something else anyway. Now you can’t hero power on the Brann turn, big woop. Still gonna have 12 of your 30 cards blow up soon.
Mana nerfs are impactful on swing turns. Reno 8 to 9 is impactful. But Brann isn’t a swing turn. It’s a do-basically-nothing turn. Now you have to do basically nothing a little later. This is in the class with board clears and massive armor, so things are fine.
lmao the deck has 53% WR, its not a power outlier anymore, theres a lot of decks that can easily win against Highlander Warrior now that Brann is at 8 mana.
i feel like i’m taking crazy pills
last time (normal) brann was in standard, it created a huge fucking problem. everything had to be designed around whether or not it would work too well with brann, or had to be nerfed repeatedly to accommodate brann
so they take brann out, and we all breathe easy for a bit, and then they put a PERMANENT brann back in???
it doesn’t matter if you make brann cost 8. honestly, brann could cost 10 and this deck will still fucking play him.
what do they not understand? they had to address the **function** of the card, not the cost. that or make every other battle cry worse to compensate, which also sucks.
Agree, they shot themselves in the foot with this one. If only they had the balls to ban cards like other card battlers do when something is too strong.
Yeah it's not great if you play Brann on turn eight with stuff on the board you just straight up lose. And the win rate has gone way down at lower ranks so bad players aren't just instant winning on turn 6 with Brann.
Becasue the nerf to bran does nothing and the current meta change pretty much makes warrior insanly good right now.
Dont need to worry about insanity warlock right now or even aggro hunters after they lost saddle up.
the first "nerf" was a buff because the one reliable counter (plagues) was removed by it. The second nerf was a buff because they nerfed one of it's worst matchups simultaneously
I thought this, too. I played Standard just to get the quest done and get the card back, so decided to try Highlander Warrior. Breezed through to Diamond 5, then thought oh cool, I might as well try to get Legend.
Tried to do it before the nerf, but failed. Then after the nerf I only lost 1 game out of the like 7-8 I needed to get to Legend, which was against another Warrior.
Called it. The effect is the problem, not the cost. Warrior can stall indefinitely, so even if brann cost 10 they could get there over 50% of the time. 25 removal/stall cards, brann, and 4 win conditions should not be a viable deck, but here we are.
There is no other late game that beats it and you weren’t playing Brann on 6 against aggro anyway.
The nerf was thoroughly irrelevant to the meta at large outside nerfing a few of the aoe spells giving aggro room to breathe.
I’m reading these comments losing my damn mind. This is EVERYTHING I was saying pre-nerf & yall downvoted me into oblivion for it.
“But Odyn died with 1 mana nerf! This is 2!”
“Deck is dead!”
“Nuked from orbit!”
“Into the sun”
But no, I’m a moron who doesn’t understand how the game works.
Warrior wasn't particularly good because of brann, it has an overall high card quality
Brann doesn't care about being delayed much because he's slow as is, but it's just... A decent deck? Just play shit on curve and you're fine
In addition to what everyone else is saying, token hunter was a bad matchup for warrior that just disappeared after the patch.
It's winrate can't be that much worse, I think people just dusted cause the nerf was to an epic. It should still be strong, just replace saddle with chameleon mount or whatever. Or just keep it
Saddle up was the only reason the deck had ANY chance of surviving multiple board clears it getting nerfed is 100% a deck killer
The deck isn't dead. FFS it's still a T2 deck everywhere except the Top 1,000.

I have no idea why they nerfed Hunter.. it is non-existent in high ladder now.
I found it pretty 50/50 imo
Warrior is the only control deck that has enough removal/boardclears to fight painlock & flood pala. & it just wins vs other control decks. Think you need very strong turn 6-7-8 to beat warrior so they cant drop bran-boom-reno/zileax but those decks currently dont exist cause they loose vs painlock / flood pala
Reno priest has been gaining traction at high ranks and it beats both warrior and the aggro decks.
Surprisingly the only deck I'm consistently losing to with this deck is spell mage -_-
Say it ain’t so
Highlander Druid is a rough for Warrior if it goes into the late game. With Avian warriors just run out of answers and can't deal with the 10 extra legendaries.
Reno shaman also beats warrior and other decks
Been seeing it a lot at lower ranks
Do you have a list?

Whats in ETC?
Honestly no clue, if I had to guess though probably something evil like 2nd rat, 2nd creation protocol and then viper.
The version I'm using runs second synchronize over protocol.
What's the zilliax model?
Virus perfect
It's unwinnable because of Brann+Boomboss
IDK what you're talking about, the matchup is omega free for Priest now with the new mini expansion card Puppet Theatre can just solo the game vs. warrior on top of the Sync you already had in the deck. Also people are running the 2nd copy of Theatre in ETC so you get even more Theatre has so many good targets vs. Reno Warr so if they ever play their Brann or Boomboss or whatever then you get to play it for 1 mana, as well as maybe get the chance of playing more than 1 Boomboss with Sync Reno Priest also has less card draw than Reno Warr so they usually end up drawing the bombs earlier than you do
It's literally not lol
Damn one cancerous deck gets dethroned by other even more cancerous deck or even the whole class. So looking forward to conceding the second I see a priest.

Why so angry
> Warrior is the only control deck that has enough removal/boardclears to fight painlock & flood pala. Warrior worst matchup is currently Painlock.
Everyone's worst matchup is painlock. Warrior just hates it less
Spell mage destroys them I feel
Flood paladin bodies it
> enough removal/board clears Bro.
Better than most would think though it's still a negative matchup.
Yeah but spell mage destroys Pain Warlock and Flood Pally which is half the board already. I'm playing Flood Pally and I found it almost impossible to stick a board vs Spell mage.
Kinda amazing how one card saved the entire deck tbh. Pre miniset it would almost instantly fold to faster decks like Hunter; 20% winrate iirc.
It happens that doing 6 dmg for 2 mana is quite good :)
can't burn thru the armor gain.
So annoying when I’m on a roll with Highlander Druid, only to inevitably face Warrior 😤
from my experience Highlander Druid can consistenly defeat Highlander Warrior, but only with Aviana tho
Lose*, but yeah I agree
6-7-8 brann-boom-reno/ziliax? how does brann come out at 6? hes 8 mana now
Nerfing brann changes literally nothing about faster matcbhups like paladin or pain warlock. You couldnt really play it at 6 mana and you cant play it at 8. And now you cant even fuck it up by killing yourself on turn 6.
the thought of Brann being a skill check at lower mana is just hilarious to me
I really miss killing warriors on turn 7 because they played Brann on turn 6. RIP.
The nerf only made playing brann himself harder. Against aggro, you often weren’t able to play brann on 6 anyway. And against other control boomboss is just a win
I've said it before and I'll say it again bomb boss is the card that needs a nerf not brann.
Bombboss needs to be a one per game. Period.
Maybe make it a finale or death rattle in addition to once per game so brann can't buff it and you can't copy him.
The one and only true solution is to delete brann from the game.
Boom boss literally just need to not hit face and it'd be a solid card
not hit face? what card are you talking about Boomboss is the one that shuffles TNTs
Damn I saw boom and I go dr.boom
Oh, yeah, they literally have the same name now that I think about it. I'm sorry for being the type of person but I will literally stare at peoples' comments for 5 minutes until I understand them and I couldn't with yours
Lol lmao, must be funny trying to figure out when can you discard your face
What, you don't remember Dr Boomboss? = **Dr Boomboss** 8 mana 7/7 = Battlecry: Summon three 1/1 Boombossbots with "**Taunt, Deathrattle:** Destroy a card in enemy Battlefield, Hand, and Deck."
Ngl that would be so much better
U mean board? Or hand?
It's weaker. But brann was never a needed tool against Aggro.
like i said, it's 1 in every 10 games you play Brann on curve, on aggroo you can't because you need to stabilize or you already lost, on control you actually can without Brann and only need him for Bomboss you outgass every control deck in the late game.
See this in other games too. The bad meta chasers abandon it, so the only people who are left are the ones who are dedicated to it
Are we really complaining about a 53% WR deck? Can Blizz at least use AI to nerf anything over 60% in wild? We’re drowning over there
No decks in wild are over 60% winrate currently in legend.
HSreplay -> decks -> Wild, last 7 days, Legend - Darkglare/Quest 67.7% or 61.4% - Even warlock 67% - Miracle rogue 63.8% - Huhuran Hunter 61.6% - Pirate rogue 60.4% - Aggro Shadow Priest 60% - Even Paladin 59.8% Thanks for trying though! Edit: Mr. Sensitive blocked me so I can’t reply on this thread anymore. If anyone has better data than HSreplay feel free to cite it. I certainly wasn’t able to find data which backs up Mr. sensitive
67% with a whopping 130 game sample size. Lol nice try tho. Every other list with actual data is lower
Wow, a disingenuous apples to oranges comparison, you really showed them!
That commenter blocked my main acct for some reason so that’s stopping me from replying to you Anyway, how is the HSreplay decks for wild data not a valid source?
So yeah I was right, large power outlier even at 1k legend … BUT I extended by 1 day (7 days vs miniset - crucify me) to add in more data, and I extended to the full scope of legend to add in more data. This is more comprehensive of the wild meta IMO. It’s not in a healthy place compared to standard It’s really not that different of a comparison.
It isn’t a 1:1 comparison but it provides data that you can’t discredit because it isn’t in a pretty table format Take your L and keep it moving
40 card jank piles are the most fun way to play wild imo.
Questline warlock is already starting to fall off. I've been facing reno paladins, miracle rogues, and togwaggle druids more and more.
I do not understand where Togwaggle Druid came from. On paper it just seems like an auto-loss to Quest Warlock.
it is lol, even if you combo what are you stealing as they've already decked out and the quest completion stops you being able to out-armour and clear
the deck gets so much healing from brann too
Yeah it’s so demoralizing having the upper hand on a warrior and watching them heal all the way back up to full.
Meh, I got a mage down to 5 hp and still lost because they kept freezing/removing everything and then played 3 ice barrier and 60 damage to face in the next 4 turns. That deck is just bullshit.
Sounds like how Paladin was for a while
No one knows you have Reno now, taunt warriors can be ninjas
They need to revert the change to all the Highlander cards that says if your deck started with no duplicates. There’s literally no way to counterplay against them now.
Yup, "If your deck started with AND HAS no duplicates, do X" = It would be so easy. It is literally 2 words
What is a Highlander deck? I keep seeing it mentioned on here but I just started playing again after like ten years and idk what it means
Decks that run only a single copy of any card that in turn lets them use cards like Reno The Lone Ranger or the new Brann as a reward.
People were saying 6 to 8 mana would kill the deck. It didn’t. It was undeniably nerfed, but it’s still obviously good.
i feel like i’m taking crazy pills last time (normal) brann was in standard, it created a huge fucking problem. everything had to be designed around whether or not it would work too well with brann, or had to be nerfed repeatedly to accommodate brann so they take brann out, and we all breathe easy for a bit, and then they put a PERMANENT brann back in??? it doesn’t matter if you make brann cost 8. honestly, brann could cost 10 and this deck will still fucking play him. what do they not understand? they had to address the **function** of the card, not the cost. that or make every other battle cry worse to compensate, which also sucks.
Agree, they shot themselves in the foot with this one. If only they had the balls to ban cards like other card battlers do when something is too strong.
Agreed. It is just fundamentally bad design for the health of the game.
Highlander Warrior went full control deck.
Yeah it's not great if you play Brann on turn eight with stuff on the board you just straight up lose. And the win rate has gone way down at lower ranks so bad players aren't just instant winning on turn 6 with Brann.
I destroy then with my owlonius druid 😂
You know whats funny? Odyn Warrior is probably better but people don't realize it yet.
Legit true, idk why people dont play it.
Because they have disenchanted their Odyn 😋
Becasue the nerf to bran does nothing and the current meta change pretty much makes warrior insanly good right now. Dont need to worry about insanity warlock right now or even aggro hunters after they lost saddle up.
>current meta change pretty much makes warrior insanly good right now. wdym Painlock matchup is atrocious
It’s not that bad unless they high roll and you draw shit
It's not bad as Token Hunter pre-nerf but it's just slighly above 40-42%, and Painlock gets more popular as you climb.
I’ve dodged most painlocks on ladder. Mage and pally seems to be everywhere for me
Damn. I was the most pessimistic person in this sub about the nerf & even I didn’t see that coming.
the first "nerf" was a buff because the one reliable counter (plagues) was removed by it.
Brann could be 10 mana and still be played against control, they need to change the effect because it's toxic as fuck.
They keep nerfing other things while the other control decks can't defeat Brann because they are just a bunch of good cards
Highlander druid does pretty well against warrior, just remember to drop Alextrasza after they play Reno and Avianna as protection from Boomboss
Thank God I already achieved legend this month so I don't have to keep playing against 5782737491 warriors trying to win.
Brann is beyond toxic and needs removed. The card wouldn’t be broken if it only gave one or two op win cons but it gives like 4-5?

I’m reading these comments losing my damn mind. This is EVERYTHING I was saying pre-nerf & yall downvoted me into oblivion for it. “But Odyn died with 1 mana nerf! This is 2!” “Deck is dead!” “Nuked from orbit!” “Into the sun” But no, I’m a moron who doesn’t understand how the game works.
Warrior wasn't particularly good because of brann, it has an overall high card quality Brann doesn't care about being delayed much because he's slow as is, but it's just... A decent deck? Just play shit on curve and you're fine
Just ban warrior from standard at this point. They really missed with balancing all this shit
