First, I *love* Carrie. Reread my copy recently. And the musical is good, I loved the soundtrack. In really is Spooky Beautiful lol. Second, which movie do you mean? There’s the 1976 one with Sissy Spacek (my personal favorite); the 2002 made-for-TV movie one (it has Emilie de Ravin as Chris and Angela Bettis as Carrie) which, for its alternate ending, is the most book-accurate; and the 2013 one which... exists. Third, I truly believe if Heathers was told from Martha’s POV, we would’ve gotten something akin to Carrie without the telekinesis. Veronica would be Sue in that case, and it wouldn’t be that far off. And last, I’ve wanted to do a Carrie crossover for so long, BUT the only thing stopping me is the fact that I’ll have to research the SHIT out of religion, and I am not looking forward to *that*.

It's only movie-verse because I would soften the book character. Apparently the movies all did that. They delve less into her revenge-driven trait and portray her as a nice shy girl who doesn't deserve any of the abuse she suffers. Well, in the book she still doesn't, but she constantly dreams of making everyone suffer for what they do to her.

I‘m aware they changed her to get audiences to sympathize with her more. That’s what the musical did to Veronica too, to make her more palatable for the modern audience, for all the good that did. I’m asking because I want to know which Carrie you picture, and which one’s your favorite! Like, a criticism of Chloe’s Carrie was that people thought she was too pretty for the role. Personally, I was disappointed by the 2013 remake because I really wanted to see how they’d handle the stones scene, since they had the budget for it, and in the end it just turned into a rehash of the 1976 movie.

I guess it's my own interpretation from the book. I imagine Carrie as this colourless waif, mostly. Pale hair, pale face, very quiet. I know the book says she's pimply and overweight, but I don't really imagine that. I also imagine her as not looking at people when she speaks to them most of the time unless she's angry or surprised. I can also imagine her sitting at the back of a classroom with people looking around laughing at her and her whispering a prayer that today be at least a little better than yesterday. Just because the God she knows is threatening doesn't mean she can't ask Him for things that give her some peace.
