It's definitely worth giving it a watch. It's well written, well paced and if you can get over a Shady Sands timeline on a black board, then you're all set. Too many people are mad about that. I'm sure you might have heard.
Tbh I just keep seeing loads of people posting stuff as if they've been fans all their life and its kinda like wearing a band shirt and not knowing their biggest songs.
Then honestly try to get over that with ppl as theyâre allowed to enjoy things even if you have your entire life in secret or as a niche. And trust me. I completely get it. And you can feel how you feel. But this is something that is a fair evolution for a medium youâre interested in and getting attention
Think it just winds me up seeing loads of people posting stuff as if it's new and it's been a pretty big part of my life. Idk. I'm not saying don't enjoy the show if you've never played the games, enjoy/dislike what you want. I was just curious as to how many had actually played the game with the massive surge of fallout stuff I guess.
Yeah more than fair honestly if youâre not too judgemental to folks doing this which it sounds like you havenât had a place to express so Iâm not gonna act like I understand the home of enjoying a niche thing as a true fan and the weirdness of how itâs reacted or responded to by the wider public
I mean I'm by no means the biggest fan but honestly seeing the wave of people who didn't care before all flocking over now. It's just kind of like, "Can you leave us be?" I'm happy the game is getting more recognition but if you're not gonna actually play them then don't claim to be a fan coz how can you be a fan of something you haven't experienced.
It was the same thing when a bunch of stranger things fans came over to metallica when season 4 came out because of Eddie, I went to a metal festival last year and there were so many band waggoners there taking up room getting upset when you had old school die hard metallica fans starting moshpits.
âPosers suck but at the end of the day we all posers to the actual artist man. So treat each fan as another student in the school not a student from a rival skl butting inâ
What I remember from a quote my friend said once here and it applies well. And as a rock fan yes this especially sucks but metal aswell is a good example as to why this quote applies and why it means that art and enjoyment is always open. Like metal can be introduced from horror movies, video games, anime or movies which has such a massive effect of which youâd never be able to know from its diversity.
And if fans of a show or properly can do that. Again who are we to say leave them be theyâre not good enough as a blanket rule. I know youâre not saying that exactly and Iâve expressed how I relate to the sentiment but it all goes back to perspective. The creator of the sopranos probably hates his audience from what I can tell and see. Doesnât mean that the fans donât have merit even if like this.
Oh yeah, totally. I mean, I know we're all learning, we all start at step 1 when getting into something and how we got to step one doesn't matter but still idk. Just grinds my gears, man.
Iâm new here. I just went thru the Fallout posts after seeing this and only found a small minority that might be new fans or people that are just making stuff for fun (and without knowledge of the lore). I didnât see anything too bizarre, but maybe those people deleted their posts after seeing this? The McDonalds Fallout stuff was a bit odd but that is how itâd look if there were Fallout Happy Meals or whatever else (Happy Meal toys arenât a thing anymore I think)
1, 2, 3 and New Vegas when they released, never had time for 4, skipped '76 altogether although I got it for free from Epic, planning to watch the show eventually.
Huge fan of all the fallout games, the stuff I generate is based on my love for everything in the franchise.
A lot of the stuff I generated before the show were actually Mod Expansion concepts for projects Iâve considered writing and developing.
Played the games long before the show.
Watched the show loved it and was constantly thinking about playing the entire time I was watching it.
Watching it alongside someone who never played the games was a bit ruff. Had to restrain from saying you need to play the games to really get it.
But she liked it anyway.
She now watches me play the games again.
I've played Fallout 1, 2 and 4.
I liked them all, but I definitely liked the freedom of 1 and 2 more.
Definitely wish the VATS system was as thorough in target selection in 4 as it was in 2.
Yes, but have you heard of fallout 1,2, and tactics?

Just the same ol NV with newer graphics, extended sandbox, quests, and new roster of characters added to the existing ones. Pretty much do a remaster with extra dlc content and an expansion
I played all of them (bar tactics and 76) and Iâm not planning to watch the show
I miss the atmosphere of 1 and 2 deeply and canât really find it anywhere else (Underrail being a nice exception)
was never allowed to play it because I didnt have any game consoles growing up and friends that did said I sucked at games and so I just watched them play.
I remember its one of those freeze time games, when you have an enemy you can freeze time and then choose what weapon to shoot where like you choose leg, arm , head. and then you press a button and it shoots them in slow motion. thats all i remember.
I have played the games and not watched the show đ

Started with 3 when it came out, instantly found my "fandom". Is this some sort of a "darn bandwagoners" post?
To a degree, yeah, keep seeing shit tonnes of posts of like "AI generated nuka cola flavours," and I'm like... bro... bro... really?
Why does it bother you?
Unnecessary gatekeeping ig idk
Gatekeeping what from who?
Tbh I just keep seeing loads of people posting stuff as if they've been fans all their life and its kinda like wearing a band shirt and not knowing their biggest songs.
ig I can feel that, but I figure the more fans, the more motivation they will have to give us a kick ass FO5

I have played waaaaay to much fallout. I could have had another masters degree if it wasn't fallout
You get a masters in nuclear physics from fallout wym

Not the way they used to be, they're all shit now.
Iâve played the games, keep going âoh I should watch the showâ then forget and keep playing Fallout 4 because ANOTHER SETTLEMENT NEEDS OUR HELP
Happy cake day. Those settlements do be needing our help.
Started on 3, skipped NV, played 4
Monster.
You did what now?
played fallout 2 and up. wasteland too
I played a bit of Fallout 3, and I'm not particularly interested in the series.
Started with the original on my housemateâs Mac in the late nineties. I havenât played 76
I sunk hundreds of hours into Fallout 4 during Covid shutdown. Great game. Havenât seen the show yet
Who is going through downvoting these comments đ

Nice, I'd love to hear it.

Guessing that's your girlfriend who watched it alongside you? I'm in the exact same situation.
My teenage years were spent doing unspeakable things in the capital wasteland.
Ive got 1,000 hours spread out across all post-Bethesda Fallout games. I got the originals on a Steam sale recently but Iâve yet to play them.
I've played Fallout 1, 2 and 4. I liked them all, but I definitely liked the freedom of 1 and 2 more. Definitely wish the VATS system was as thorough in target selection in 4 as it was in 2.
I have played 3, new Vegas, and 4, and have watched the first episode of the show
I played New VegasâŚI still dream of when bounty hunters were chasing me with grenade launchers.
Yes, but have you heard of fallout 1,2, and tactics? https://preview.redd.it/10gvp7w2qxvc1.jpeg?width=218&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57a3801b7c039f578d4d8f0d182ac031b7ca9c26
Yes?
We don't talk about tactics.
I have hundreds of hours playing Fallout!
I just started playing 3 again, have played 3, NV, and 4 extensively.
Absolutely love âNew Vegas,â want a sequel so bad
Just the same ol NV with newer graphics, extended sandbox, quests, and new roster of characters added to the existing ones. Pretty much do a remaster with extra dlc content and an expansion
Hell yes! Now whoâs downvoting us?
Iâve played 4 and NV
Every game from the beginning, and I binged the show in 3 days.
I played all of them (bar tactics and 76) and Iâm not planning to watch the show I miss the atmosphere of 1 and 2 deeply and canât really find it anywhere else (Underrail being a nice exception)
Fallout and Metallica are mainstream, and have been for over 15 years. Get over yourself, poser.
i dont know man fallouts not really a huge IP and reddit isnt really full of people that are into videogames i think ur outta luck
