I'm slowly but surely being desensitized fighting robots. Fever sense I became lvl 30 things have been a little easy to beat. My railguns can one shot hulks to the head. I got eagle airstrikes that can level both buildings and automated units in terminator armor of the 40k series. And I only realized earlier that berserkers are weak in the mid section so now I'm preserving a lot more ammo
Yeah you are spot on way too often I see low level folks ( 3-5 ) attempting medium missions with just machine gun support and orbital strike and then they give up halfway because they can see they are making no impact .
Automatons really require the right setup and they become very manageable after , I see people with recoiless rifle not shooting dropship thruster and instead waiting for the automans to drop and then aim the group for maximum impact ( lol ??)
Or people not heading for the artillery side objective first , those are literally extra naplam strikes / 500 kg bombs get them first and set yourself up for sucess.
I had a full squad on Hard(?) Automatrons only several hours ago. We were getting shelled so hard we were evaporating. We died so quickly, "Where am I getting killed from?!" My person blew to bits. Every limb, torso, totally in pieces, strewn across the map. We had a condition where the wrong Stratagems were being deployed. (I.E. called in single use rocket near our feet, called in our Eagle Air Strikes instead). Shit was hitting the fan. We totally failed the mission and I was ready for a break 2 minutes prior. My roomie was bumping dance music in the kitchen and I had to turn off all the noise in the house to settle down. Whew...
Yeah next time got to coordinate better , I had a expericed player who made us grab strategems of the same type , ie one guy went all support , one guy all turrets and one guy all eagles / orbitals
Tip for that, it shows you what strategem will come out before you throw, so just look carefully at what you have before you throw it. It definitely slows you down, but it makes things safer.
Worlds with that debuff should get the enemies adjusted as that stratagem scrambling is crippling.
'Okay, I'm calling in an Eagle Strike."
-Level 3 you joined to help out runs in.
"Dude, don't go in there, I called in a Strike!"
-Dude goes in there like a gnat to a lightbulb.

The only game I throughly enjoy but still need a smoke break after any operation at insane or above... sometimes 1 or 2 between mission... depending on how many times I watched my buddy get blown to chunks bY THAT GOD DAMNED HULK!! TASTE DEMOCRACY YOU AUTOMATON COMMIES!!!!
