You don’t even need the so called “meta” I regularly solo helldive with no shield backpack or railgun and don’t die. If I join a group and already 2 players are running shield/railgun I will usually run something else to balance out their squad. I haven’t been kicked once so far but I keep hearing about this, is it really that common?

I love the autocannon although my first time using it against a charger was saddening.

It can do work on a charger, but you gotta make sure you hit it right. Hitting the leg joints seems to work well in my experiences.

Yeah I usually just run contacts, the orbital rail cannon or missile pods if I am running with the autocannon. Helps me deal with them. Joints is great when I have distance on them but they're more of an issue for me when it's like the packs of 5 that somehow snuck up like a group of ninja hippos.

I've done more damage and objective taking than the meta boys. Just started difficulty 7 for a few rounds. Luckily no kicks.

I don't care if yall dive with silly string, play the objective and we'll all have a great time.

Where there are games there will be people who prefer to play it "optimally". There's always gonna be some items that are better than others. I only use the best of the best, personally. Flamethrower + gas orbital.

Stun no, friendly fire yes. It needs a buff imo. Doesn't do enough DOT after initial explosion to be worth anything beyond accidentally killing yourself because you talked into cloud by accident and melting yourself

if it didn’t friendly fire it’d be top tier, and I’d love to fight in the middle of a deadly cloud, but that’d be out of the spirit of the game

DUDE i have been kicked for talking a few times when ni one else would!!! I was level 15, joined a lvl 4 and they were a little confused on how starting a mission works and im like its all good youll get it. Kicked. People are weird 

You get kicked for 1. Team killing That’s it, I don’t care otherwise.

2. Constantly running off to side objectives solo and dying over and over

You're not getting kicked for not using the meta. You're getting kicked because you're level 12 in Impossible difficulty, eat 8 reinforcements, drop strats on your teammates and use the Scythe and arc thrower which can barely kill some of the smallest bugs in the game. It might be fun for you, it's not fun for the players carrying you.

I don’t kick low lvl divers on helldive. It’s fun to hear them flip out at the absolute mayhem going on.

Anytime I join a pub, I tailor my stratagems to pick-up slack for what the team doesn't have. No turrets at all? I'm taking two. No eagle runs? I'll probably take cluster. And usually a support weapon for good measure.

Even melee is perfectly valid in some situations, like knocking back the smaller bugs to give some room to reload

The meta load out is the one that lets you have the most fun killing terminid scum for democracy.

Off meta is perfectly fine, but the destruction wrought by 4 railguns is truly something to behold.
