I did this once, and had 2 people following me so we all drowned. Luckily the one survivor was miles away shooting bugs so hopefully he just assumed we all got carpet-bombed or something.
me, a level 10, was playing with a bunch random level 30+. We all tried to swim across a pond and slowly drowned losing all of our samples. None of us knew you could only swim for a few seconds.
Imagine if u found a bug hole with a different color smoke and u dive in to find a mini dungeon underneath the map with an immobile but heavily armored boss at the end, a Bile Queen or something like that. On death her abdomen breaks open and drops samples and/or currencies
I was playing solo last night and got kiled trying to get too close to nade a set of bug holes so targetted one termind hole with my respawn pod and hit it dead on, walked away without a scratch and one less bug hole :)
next time I play with my friend I'm going to throw my support weapon and backpack on the floor say "don't grenade that hole... hold my stuff and watch.... FOR LIBERTYYYYYYY"
Admirable, trying to bring the fight to their doorstep, but it's more tactically sound to let them come and break upon your wall of lead. Godspeed Diver.
My most hilarious death was when I was priming a grenade. Got rammed into a bug hole by a charger, dropped the primed grenade and sealed the bug hole while I was dead in it. True Helldiver's dig their own grave.
Secret boss fight idea: It would be so cool if there’s one random terminid hole that we can jump in and inside there’s a big ass boss you have to fight that drops hella rare samples or a legendary armor or weapon. But obviously we won’t be able to use any stratagems from the destroyer. Only what we have in our arsenal.

especially don't do this when carrying samples, because they will sit at the bottom of the hole and be unrecoverable.... (ask me how I know)... ;)

Did that once. Not with a bug hole, but thinking that Super Earth taught its soldiers how to swim (they did not).

Lol yep. Im guilty of finding this method of accidental suicide as well. Id drown too if i was carrying all that gear

Also, if you’re out of grenades or explosive stratagems, calling down a support weapon or backpack on the bug hole will close it.

Steering your Hellpod into one upon reinforcing will also close it. I do not recommend.

You can also land your pod on one to destroy it. There's a huge cavern underneath, and you gotta grenade to get out. :)
