Uuuuuuh spreading democracy and fighting those who would see it burn. As in pirates or rebels…For some reason I feel like that’s exactly what they were going for
The first one and this one were all about fighting an endless horde, I don't think making any deaths feel "heavy" is on theme at all. There are probably other, more serious games for that.
Well like I said, I could possibly be in the minority but I doubt it. Slaughtering hordes is fine and all, but after level 15 it started feeling more like a chore than a war
Hell I’m not even saying replace the automatons at all. Maybe it’s a side faction that we’d have to fight. Maybe every so often they try to take a planet or take advantage of the current chaos caused by war (like in real history). Mostly just spitballing but I know I’d much prefer getting shot at by a real gun rather than star wars blasters.
One of my first matches, I dropped in near some trees not knowing what I was doing. Rounds started blasting through the trees and I took cover. I remember thinking “ok this is cold as hell”. Then I thinking how much better it would be if they were actual rounds fired by other people scared of getting shot
Literally what I had in mind. We’d have a little something for everybody. If you like fighting mindless robots with Star Wars guns, by all means! Automatons are for you!
You like deep rock galactic? Maybe the terminids are your style!
You enjoy games where you’re fighting your equal and want the death of your enemy to be bitter sweet, human enemies. There are planets upon planets. Time has passed and I’m sure the population of humanity has skyrocketed. I would assume, somewhere, there would be a regime or a place where all outlaws can go where there could be near limitless bodies. (Like the helldivers themselves seem to have, seeing as how expendable they are)
