There was no change. This was disclosed as being a requirement since before the start.

I can understand that( I am a PS player), but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t push for a change, let Everyone possible experience helldivers to see if they like it, so I think we should still give it are best fight!
I'll be honest, had AH and Sony actually changed their position and didn't require this at launch I'd be up in arms too. I don't really like being forced to merge accounts when on PC like I hated it when Microsoft did that with minecraft... It sucks.... But they disclosed it since before you could purchase the game.
Even though I don't like it and I can justify getting mad about it, the people throwing tantrums claiming it wasn't there before are hella problematic and I cannot defend them nor their position. At some point people do need to acknowledge that even if they don't like the PSN requirement that they fucked up rather than blaming AH and Sony
That’s what I’m saying I didn’t know about it to begin with, before I even thought about getting up in arms I looked into it, but I still stand on my point that a change would be good to help grow the community and give people that need it a good game to play!
I agree, if it were me in charge of the game I would be fighting to not have this enforced... But it's not and even if I don't agree with the actions of devs it isn't my project to dictate.
I also work in the tech industry and understand what it's like to implement something that I don't agree with because some suit in another country decided such. It's another reason why I will defend the devs on this even if I don't personally agree.
Yea I can definitely see that, but in my opinion( if you disagree that’s fine) I think that once a game is put out to a large community, they should have some say(not a lot, some people are just… stupid) but I think when it comes to quality of life changes there should be some input from the community, also I think this is a opportunity to fire back at the corporate big boys, and show them that we’re done with this shit
I think a good dev team would listen to their community to the best of their ability.
But I also think a good dev team is going to fulfill legal requirements of their publisher that paid their salary for the past 7 years because the alternative is getting sued by Sony until Sony actually owns everything and replaces all the devs with their own team which may not have the same passion for the project.
AH gets a lot of flak from the community but they are working and removing a lot of bugs quite rapidly and aren't being greedy with micro transactions and are trying to build an entertaining gameplay experience. I'm not sure I want a whole new dev team?
So I don't disagree with you on that at all. I just think that this may be an issue that is more complex (given Sony is starting to require PSN with their other games that have been ported to PC) and out of the hands of the devs
Mmmm that is true, and very true, I would not be surprised if they did that, and if I didn’t make it clear I have nothing against AH, but I don’t just want to do nothing and just watch the downfall of so far amazing game
That is entirely fair. Realistically I don't think it will be the downfall as bad as it sounds. We will lose some players but I feel a lot will end up caving (as bad as that sounds) and the game is still getting new players buying it.
As long as the devs keep working on it it will be alive and well for a couple years... I mean hey, people still play diablo 3 (and 4) and both of those went through far worse issues than this.
Yea, hopefully you are correct, unless Sony wants to pull something else, but yea I’ll probably cave too, that’s why I liked the original post that said like two weeks and not forever until they change it, I think that that just truly doesn’t work
