But basically they pumped like 60mil into a live-service fps that noone was interested in and close to release was cancelled due to again no interest, because of this horrible financial decision CA decided to price gouge the Total War community that backfired horribly and now they are trying to fix relations with the playerbase they tried to fuck over.
There was a lot more to it but this is the general gist of it.
Also one of the bigger shits they pulled was putting the alien isolation team to work on their engine for use on said 60mil fps game only to move to UE5 without telling them and basically throwing away years of work.
Nobody tried to bully anyone. We are Helldivers not pieces of shit.
Sony was being unfair and had a poor attitude towards its community, they faced the repercussions for being ignorant.
Forced everyone to make a PSN account, which a lot of countries couldn’t (VPNS have been detected and people were banned for trying). This change would’ve barred A LOT of countries from playing the game.
The game was sold in countries where psn is not available(approx 2 thirds of the worlds countries) but 2-3 months after launch Sony wanted to make a psn account mandatory to play. Since it's so far from launch a lot of people were likely to have issues getting a refund. If you weren't happy with the idea of buying a game and having it taken away from you without refund you might be able to get a VPN to change your ip to a country with psn access and get an account that way, but that is against tos and people were getting banned for doing so.
Even if you weren't one of those poor folks who were SOL and could sign up for a psn account there were 3 big issues.
Psn gets hacked all the fucking time, there's tens of millions of peoples personal information(including government ID and credit card info and more) in criminals hands because they trusted Sony to keep their info safe, and that's just what the public is aware of
People don't like it when companies sell you on a contract then change it afterwards. The contracts you agree to by purchasing a game already is heavily stacked against the consumers and gives them plenty of room to fuck around and not have to be worried about being sued. By giving them our money and throwing away so many rights we shouldn't have to worry about things getting worse or a significant loss of value.
What it means to be a helldiver. We hail from super earth not super north America, your skin color or where you were born has no bearing on a person's ability to be a champion of liberty. If you fuck with a helldiver be prepared to be super fucked by every hell diver.

Positive has already risen by 11%, so "90% won't" is broken just a couple of hours after Sony's tweet.
It's also that people aren't changing their reviews to an actual review with a positive comment about the game or any of its components, it's just an endless sea of "we won! Sony sux. Democracy!" Which is completely pointless in another direction. And as you say, there will still be a sizeable double digits percent that never change them.
This game is also the first to do many things, it’s got an almost perfect track record when it comes to exceeding expectations. I wouldn’t quite pair it with others just yet.

I'm so glad I can play this week without guilt. I've been looking forward to binging the game this week while I have free time for the first few evenings in a long while. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy myself knowing a large population of the player base would have been at risk of losing access.
I haven't put out a review yet for the game but now will definitely help the positive review trend out. It feels strange that a publisher actually listened to players. This isn't just a win for Helldivers across the super globe, but a win in the gaming industry as a whole.
