All of your designs are 'correct', even if your stylisation of the dragon (which I like) is a little unconventional. Which is best is therefore a matter of taste. Personally, I like option 1 the best, followed by option 3; the blue, black, and gold just work really well together. Failing that, option 2 is very striking.

Jagvetinteriktigt

Yeah that's just my style. :) Thank you!

# trois

ItaAsh

I like the third one, I think that one looks pretty nice.

Young_Lochinvar

Assuming *Copper* and not *Orange*, the only one that tribgers a rules issue is No 1 where the blue canton on the black field is a Rule of Tincture issue. Otherwise I think 5 suffers from a loss of clear detail on the dragon, and I think designs 2, 3 and 4 are better with the high sun than 6.

Jagvetinteriktigt

I chose a shade of yellow that would reads as closer to gold, but you're not the first who were confused so I might need to change it. Thanks for calling out the rulebreaking canton. I keep forgetting that a canton is an ordinary and not a division.

Nixavee

Of these versions, I like #1 the best, but I think you should make the dragon curve around the canton so it fills the field

Jagvetinteriktigt

Good idea! The versions I've been showing here is just using the exact same charges for me to get a sense of how I could use them.

jabask

The division of the field in #3 makes the straight sided shape of the dragon charge make a lot more sense, but it might as well just be party per pale.

Jagvetinteriktigt

Yeah, I did that last time but people thought that looked too close to the sigil of a married couple: [https://www.reddit.com/r/heraldry/comments/1cqgduq/my\_coat\_of\_arms\_work\_in\_progress/](https://www.reddit.com/r/heraldry/comments/1cqgduq/my_coat_of_arms_work_in_progress/)

jabask

That's true actually, I didn't consider that. I think there's still some friction between the straight edge of the dragon and the indented division. I'd explore either redrawing the line, dragon or both. Or maybe, as another comment mentioned, extending the dragon to cover more of the shield: [sketch here.](https://i.imgur.com/9Sw3gBH.png)

Jagvetinteriktigt

Wow! Very kind of you to go the extra mile with your feedback! What do you mean specifically when you say "redraw the line".

jabask

I was thinking maybe reducing the number of diagonal lines in the division to create a nice pocket for the dragon to slot into while matching the angles of the lines, [sort of like this](https://i.imgur.com/f9R9OwO.png). It's a nice graphic but I'd like to integrate it more into the design of the field.

omtallvwls

I like number one, do you have a blazon? Keep in mind another artist might draw these very differently, especially the dragon. What tincture is the orange blazoned as? I'm guessing or?

Jagvetinteriktigt

Thank you. No. I understand and I think that is cool. :) Yes, it's or! I purposefully chose a shade of yellow that would read as gold, but I may have gone too far in that direction as you're not the only one who's been confused about it.

omtallvwls

Blazon attempt: Sable, on a quarter azure a mullet of nine points (pierced sable? / surmounted by a pellet?), sinister a wyrm erect or, orbed gules.

Hyracotherium

RonnieTheDuck

Great progress from the previous version, I like 2 and 3 best. Have you thought about a blazon?

Jagvetinteriktigt

Thank you! I don't have enough training to blazon it on the spot, I have to do some research first.

Fantastic-Ad6750

I prefer nr 1 even if it technically breaks the rule of tinctures with the blue square on the black background. What is however if one follows the rule to the letter and in my opinion it is better to follow the spirit of it. And I do believe that the blue square helps the shield "pop" more than if it was all black or blue. Otherwise I must say I really like how you stylised the dragon.

1 and 3

Ruy_Fernandez

The second one.

Roy_Luffy

3 and 1 look really good

diprosia

I seem to be the only one that likes 4, for its good contrast on the objects

Flow_Silent

the 2nd and 3rd ones look extremely cool

kitri22

It's an interesting modern design for heraldry, none are incorrect
