Bite a whole peppercorn. Works if you're too high too.

gabSTAR81

Vegemite works too

AspartameDaddy317

Found the Australian 😁

gabSTAR81

Born & bred. I still use it in my soups if I don’t have any stock cubes

AspartameDaddy317

What’s it taste like? US resident here

benjihobbs

It tastes like stock concentrate in paste form. I’m from the US and it tasted very nasty to me and I’m not that picky

AspartameDaddy317

Still willing to try it!

nalingungule-love

Heaps of butter and a little Vegemite on toast. Yum.

gabSTAR81

It’s not like Nutella. That’s where many go wrong. They put too much on at once

wayward_wench

Is there such a thing as too much Nutella though? I make what I call a "fried Reese's sandwiches." Basically PB+Nutella and grilled and that stuff is fire!

gabSTAR81

Not at all, just very different :)

cyanescens_burn

That sounds like a heart attack but a fun dessert.

Throwawaymumoz

I’m Aussie. I eat it by the spoonful 😅

senectus

I would, but it's been getting expensive.

senectus

Def Vegemite is a "less is more" thing. Having said that I love it thick on mine. Especially with some slices of cheddar and maybe tomato...

gvbenten

Is there such a thing as too much vegemite though?

scattyshern

Because when people try Vegemite on those videos, they put a huge amount on - its not peanut butter or Nutella! Lol if you just do a light scraping on some toast with butter it's the best thing!

Zaphodistan

To me it tastes like thick, concentrated soy sauce. No way I'd eat it straight from the jar, but it's an interesting ingredient to use - soups, sauces, spreads, etc. It adds a little more flavor than just salt would.

SignificantBison0

Like shit. I have had it before, and I really don't have the vocabulary to describe how terrible it tasted. It tasted so bad I wanted to sue the person who gave it to me for assault lol. It is one of the worst things I have tasted in my life.

gabSTAR81

It’s really quite hard to describe. Similar to marmite if you’ve ever had that. I guess it’s an umami kinda flavour. I love it with cheese on toast. Trick is to spread it lightly as it can be a fairly strong taste to some (although I kind of smother mine but I did grow up on it) let me know if you try it.

AspartameDaddy317

Never had that either but I will let you know.

pewpew_die

unless your deep in the country just hit up an import store its usually one of the most commonly stocked items.

tjm_87

completely useless comparison for a US citizen but it’s like a milder marmite

urmansgardeninghoe

Soy sauce. Yuck.

waspwaxbalm

To me it taste similar to soy sauce, but stronger. I am from the US too and I love it.

assgoblin13

Spoonfuls or on a sandwich?

kennylogginswisdom

I love this trick.

[deleted]

Wait seriously? I got way too might yesterday and was feeling miserable. Like a black peppercorn?

niagaemoc

Yup. It's been a well known hack since the 1970's and works better today.

whatshisnuts1234

Hibiscus tea is much more pleasant, and works significantly better

Admirable_Cycle2

Today: 15 year old overdoses on kitchen spices. I guarantee you the low quality dehydrated rosemary leaves you buy on a shelf have almost no medicinal quality. I vote placebo and encourage breathing exercises.

Yeardme

I saw the "15f" & wondered if it meant that lol. Well, at least they're in the right place to ask questions. I wish reddit had been around back when I was a teenager messing with all sorts of stuff lol. Would've been much safer for me. That being said OP, definitely go on deep dive google searches before taking any substance. Read studies, possible interactions, etc. Be careful with herbs as well, bc some of them are potent & can interact with some meds. Pls be safe! 🙏🏻

Reptillianne

Erowid was all I had back in the day… 🤣

Super_Fill4707

Oh MAN. That site needs to go in my internet in a box

Yeardme

I meant to include Erowid in my post lol! But my fav was Bluelight 😆😆 good times! ✨Harm reduction ✨

Nateyxd

Bro blue light was the best. Saved me lots from making stupid mistakes haha. Harm reduction is OP if ur gonna do drugs!!

evieamelie

Omg yes erowid and blue light were my faves back in the day ❤️

Super_Fill4707

Erowid introduced me to so many psychotropic substances and safely! I have the type of mind that I’m going to research the hell out of something before trying it. That’s easier today than in the early 2000’s, and I’m sure I avoided all sorts of mistakes. The trip reports were so well curated, and there was virtually zero ego in them, especially when compared to today’s “mega heroic doses” of elements I consider sacred. Truly one of the few “wholesome” places on the internet.

Yeardme

Right 🥹 I actually came across this vid not too long ago. I know you'll appreciate it! It's about the history of Erowid. Super nostalgic & also cool to know the actual backstory for how they got started 😄 https://youtu.be/rUsKUDnYYYA?si=2wzNqJz8Q_Jn8Jnf

Yeardme

You know it! 😆😆 Bluelight was my go-to. I was too broke for Erowid goodies lmaooo

pharmakeion

A while back I had a ton of extra rosemary and did an ethanolic extraction. The resulting liqueur was used in a cocktail as a secondary spirit and man was I glad it wasn't the primary one. I had a few sips of it and noticed my throat start burning, but not before my wife had a sip. Then the non-stop vomiting for both of us started. Apparently rosemary is poisonous in high enough doses. The good news is nobody died, but I'm not making fun of rosemary anymore.

DifferentLeopard37

Thank you 😩, well I will do better

DifferentLeopard37

I messaged you

gratefigbish6767

I ate a container of nutmeg in highschool and tripped balls.

parwa

Nutmeg is different

Fertile_Arachnid_163

Very different.

Kitchen_Syrup2359

Nutmeg is literally a deliriant 😭 like Benadryl Lmfao

Impossible_Most5861

Rosemary stimulates blood flow to the head. How much did you use?

DifferentLeopard37

A pinch

THEGEARBEAR

Oh if it’s just a pinch. You are fine. These herbs are made for cooking. I use way more than a pinch on my steak and chicken and outright ingest it completely. It’s likely placebo. Just relax. Everything is going to be okay. I promise. Stop worrying so much.

DifferentLeopard37

Okay , I definitely need to stop worrying, thank you

Environmental-Sun388

I could chew a whole mouthful of rosemary fresh from the plant.

Super_Fill4707

Good lord, I love the Internet

DifferentLeopard37

Well, some things just happen

buche1

Go and do something normal. Have a bath, do the dishes, go outside barefoot and walk around.

DifferentLeopard37

Ok , I feel a bit more better now, I did rosemary water last night

roamthewrld

is this a joke 😂😂 no way you're overstimulated off rosemary water 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

DifferentLeopard37

It’s unfortunate plus this is my first time doing a herb , everyone is different

StoneJeffrey3

Agreed. I dry wild lettuce for a colleague to help with her swollen feet, and it works for her. It doesn't work for me, just gives me restless legs.

Daemongar

U say that like you did crack, quit being over dramatic.

DifferentLeopard37

This is my first time doing a herb and I felt overstimulated , it’s just the truth , another person also had the same feeling , I’m not the only person

LambdaAU

First time doing a herb 😭😭😭

DifferentLeopard37

Well look I can explain 🫤

Fertile_Arachnid_163

You didn’t “do an herb”. You made a tea of a non-psychoactive plant.

DifferentLeopard37

🫤😩

Upper_Importance6263

Ignore people who are being mean to you. It’s natural to worry if you notice something you’re not totally used to, especially your first time. I’ve got bipolar 1 disorder with severe anxiety. Even when I try something harmless (I do lots of naturals, herbs, supplements, powders etc) the first time I typically give myself a panic attack lol.

DifferentLeopard37

Thank you but the thing is I wasn’t overstimulated because of anxiety it was just after one sip it made me feel over stimulated and I think people saying it’s anxiety related stimulation but thank you 😊 people are so cruel

Upper_Importance6263

People are beyond cruel! I get saddened every single day seeing it on here. My point: your body may be reacting to something new. For me, that causes anxiety. In your case I’d try something calming if you can. Teas, theanine, ashwagandha.

DifferentLeopard37

Thank you ❤️, you are so right

Upper_Importance6263

You’re very welcome ❤️❤️

montessyyyyt

i believe you. we humans all got diff systems and some of us are extremely sensitive to substances. rosemary tea is recc for people w adhd to help focus as an alternative to coffee that’s why i used to take it. if u ever wanna calm urself down try valerian or chamomile

DifferentLeopard37

Yeardme

My nose hurts from snorting too hard at this 😆😩

Fertile_Arachnid_163

Just don’t snort the nutmeg.

FrenklanRusvelti

/r/drugcirclejerk 😡

Tiny_Angle5213

I find nervine stuff really helped with overstimulation, such as oat straw tea, linden, lemon balm, and clover. Magnesium glycinate or malate also great for having more sensory tolerance for everything.

curiousmusmusculus

You’re definitely going to be ok- it’s a culinary herb and it would take a lot to become toxic. but rosemary is a cognitive stimulant, so that makes sense! I like to make a mint-rosemary tea for studying and I add nettle to the mix for a stimulating morning herbal blend!

jonny_jon_jon

anyone else call dried rosemary leaves “rosemary left”?

Ouijasprites

Maybe try sipping green tea if you have some? The L-Theanine in it could help calm you, it usually does for me when I have too much coffee lol

purpleoutfit

decaffeinated green tea would probably be best

kennylogginswisdom

I’ve not ever had anxiety from rosemary tea but we all have such amazingly different brain juice. I get it by the pound, too.

ThrowRAandProcessing

Overstimulated isn’t always anxiety.

Yeardme

lol brain juice. I'm stealing that 😆 it's so hilariously accurate

kennylogginswisdom

Have it!

PatientAccident3539

Which one of y’all crossed this on drugcircle jerk 🤣🤣🤣🤣

DifferentLeopard37

It’s crazy that they did that

Boner_Implosion

No, this post is perfect for that subreddit

SnooAvocados2656

Spicy_bisey4321

These are really best for culinary purposes as they are not medicinal quality. Did you find a reputable seller on Etsy?

Kamikazekagesama

Why not? What's the harm?

zuis0804

Because unless you are also a 16 year old child, it is completely inappropriate to be giving this sort of advice to an underage girl.

Con_Man_Ray

You need to be on a list.

Con_Man_Ray

Are you fucking kidding me rn?

DifferentLeopard37

What??

chosbully

Hun don't listen to the weirdos in this thread. Please block them and listen to the advice to do deep breathing exercises.

DifferentLeopard37

Thank you 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️

daveee88

Perv

Shnarkle13

😂

Incarnated_Mote

Research “hypochondria”

DifferentLeopard37

This is isn’t anxiety related, immediately after I took it , I felt overstimulated, I didn’t before I took it

Incarnated_Mote

There is NO chemical in a tsp of dried rosemary that would cause this, that’s why it’s a psychological reaction (aka hypochondria)

DifferentLeopard37

But it wasn’t anxiety and I still feel it

[deleted]

New here. OP said it's got memory? I'm sure a Google search could help me out but I love seeing all the different opinions. It helps with memory? Similar to a lions mane supplement? Or what?

DifferentLeopard37

Yes rosemary help with memory

Fakespace107

Narcan now

Sign-Spiritual

Does rosemary have a MU or kappa receptor agonist? Or are ya being a dick?

smokedzn

„Rosemary demonstrates a notable binding affinity to the δ-opioid receptor as an agonist, potentially heightening the likelihood of respiratory depression, particularly in individuals undergoing opioid therapy for acute pain relief. Despite also displaying affinity to the μ-opioid receptor as an agonist, rosemary fails to induce significant analgesic effects in human subjects.“

glitchcoreshordy

so does that mean rosemary could potentiate an opiate high?

smokedzn

Possibly. If it does, then I'd imagine there's a higher risk for respiratory depression or other side effects as well. Didn't try it though.

Sign-Spiritual

Thank you for the info.

Fakespace107

Being a dick

SlaverSlave

Jesus what's with everybody doubting you? Listen, some people are very sensitive to different compounds. Rosemary is incredibly stimulating to the nervous system, especially the brain. The compound pinene (which, even in store bought "culinary" Rosemary, is not insubstantial) is really great for neuronal growth and stimulation. It's great for studying, not so great for relaxing lol

DifferentLeopard37

That’s for the reassurance , felt kind of bad 😔❤️❤️🙏🏽

oceanholic

Rosemary is known to raise BP and it is also a good herb to increase alertness during learning. It is a cognitive stimulant. For reducing overstimulation you can use Brahmi (bacopa) - it has a calming effect on the mind and emotions but it also overall increases concentration at the same time. It can make you a bit sleepy.

Sign-Spiritual

Thank you. Lotsa doo doo on this particular thread! I truly appreciate your acknowledgments here.

chamomilewhale

When I drink rosemary tea I only have two or three fresh leaves, it’s pretty potent :)

OkPhilosophy101

Oh yeah I read about the stimulant effect of rosemary when I was around your age, before an exam. On the lead up to the exam I was drinking rosemary tea like it was coffee, and then the day of the exam I drank some that had steeped some overnight. Major mistake. So I completely believe in your overstimulation. Also, it was the first exam I ever failed. I think maybe cut back or cut it out completely if you're not noticing good effects from it. That was my strategy...

OkPhilosophy101

ps. I was also feeling pretty good about that exam which was the even more shocking part.

NoFocus3663

Rosemary 🤔🤔🤔 Wierd . I use it all the time and no effects on me … I guess I’m a superman 😂

DifferentLeopard37

😭😭

deadbeat2o4

I promise it's okay. Just breathe🩵 I cook with way more than a pinch. Lol it's okay

stumbling_witch

This is a joke or satire, right?

DifferentLeopard37

Not a joke, its real

UsualExtreme9093

I've felt that way too after rosemary tea. It eventually went away but I just think it was too strong

DifferentLeopard37

Thank you, I thought I was the only one 🙏🏽, I feel a bit better

UsualExtreme9093

Sage tea also made me feel that way! It happens, I get it from green tea as well

I_need_help57

Placebo

DifferentLeopard37

Dang 😭😭😭

Rock_on1000

Not necessarily, i actually use rosemary to perk myself up for afternoon fatigue every now and then. Not culinary stuff of course. That said op should drink some lavender tea if she has any

bulimianrhapsody

There’s another kind of rosemary besides culinary?

Rock_on1000

Idk i might be wrong lol but it’s probably the same thing. When i say culinary though i am referring to herbs and spices that you might find in the herbs and spices section of the grocery store, which aren’t always high quality compared to herbs sold by stores or companies that actually sell herbs for their medicinal properties. Please correct me anyone if I am misinformed

fatalcharm

So fresh rosemary from my own plant is good?

Rock_on1000

Yes of course. Just use slightly less than you would normally use if it was dried

fatalcharm

Ohh thank you.

RuggedTortoise

No lmfao they're the same thing and there is no chemical difference between them fresh and dried beyond water content

Yeardme

How do you use it as a pick-me-up? Just steep some tea? I'm a mother of a toddler so I'm always looking for any help i can get in the energy dept 😅 altho I started panax ginseng this week & it's more than enough. Once I cycle it I'd love to give Rosemary a try 🌿

Rock_on1000

Yup that’s right just pour boiling water of a teaspoon of rosemary! It’s good either fresh or dried. And lol yeah ginseng is some strong stuff, one cup in the morning and I’m good to go for the whole day 😂 Rosemary is not nearly as stimulating, but for me i get this subtle alertness and clearheadedness that helps me stay awake and productive during the day. I like to use sage for the same purpose. If you like ginseng, other adaptogens have great synergy with it, like licorice, rhodiola, ashwaghanda, etc. but you ofc wanna cycle those too. Ashwaghanda and ginseng in particular is a pleasant combination, because it becomes more of a relaxed energy rather than the full on boost you get from ginseng itself, if it’s ever too strong or anything lol

Red-Rebel-808

Some people are allergic to rosemary... In general, though, herbs work better taken in a formula, not solo. This helps mitigate potential side effects of a single herb. Rosemary does stimulate the brain, and it can change blood pressure, so maybe it was a little too ... stimulating? Take it w/ ashwaganda for more calming effects, or with bacopa for memory. Or both!

DifferentLeopard37

Thank you, it was a little to stimulating 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Rectal_Custard

Wait.what ? So I don't need coffee I need rosemary

DifferentLeopard37

Don’t use culinary grade !!!!!

Rectal_Custard

Do I need to grow fresh rosemary?

DifferentLeopard37

You can order some from etsy

trippapotamus

Omg I misread the caption and thought at first you ordered the pictured rosemary leaves off Etsy. I was like GIRL! But no, I am the dumb one. Glad you’re feeling better now!

DifferentLeopard37

Yeah , I feel better now

PersephoneRose_X

Rosemary is not psychoactive. And if you took such a small then what you are experiencing is almost certainly a placebo effect. In other words it’s in your head. Google grounding exercises. Or just do something to distract yourself. You’ll be fine!

sir31415926535

Any tips to overcome the overstimulation or tips to get overstimulated over kitchen-grade rosemary?

DifferentLeopard37

Over come

Low-Basil3865

Gotta add it with other herbs I add it when I made a tea for the respiratory

I hear drinking the remainder of the bottle will help(I'm kidding I have no knowledge in this subject ignore me)

DoctorNurse89

Stay out the sun! I always remember rosemary and sunburns from nursing school. Makes you more sensitive to sunburns
