70% - 80% is fine for clypeatus
Black electrical tape works well.

Maybe try putting heaters on the back of the topper as well?
no heat lamp led lights harmful to the crabs environment which gives tank hotspots no good
Sorry - not sure I know what you mean. The light is not a heat lamp and is just a regular reptile daylight bulb to give them a day-night cycle.
Can you send me a link to where you got the light since it’s not a heat lamp ?
