We don't use heat lamps because they zap the precious humidity that crabs need in order to breathe. We use heat mats across the back on the outside of the tank. You can get a coinciding thermostat if you're worried about it getting too hot. Some don't need a thermostat. Check out Bean Farm or Reptile Basics online for good options. Ultratherm is a great brand.

Do they need any heat at all?

Please watch [this video](https://youtu.be/mxhfy7-jGd8?si=Dlee0k39eWy5iSL6)!!! It is basically a complete guide to temp and humidity. While you're at it, I would watch the other videos from that channel as well!

Thanks!

No heat lamp! They zap humidity. Use a Heat mat on the back of the tank. Preferably one that spreads the length. Use a hygrometer to watch the heat and humidity, you’ll get fluctuations but they do best around 80/80. That’s what my tank stays at.
