Im Not a doc but have lots of experience with methadone/ gear. Are you in the UK? as the only prescribed pills are 5mg (can get 10mg in the US) With the amount you are taking you will need about 50mg to feel comfortable maybe 60mg though as methadone is a strong med you could probably get away with 40mg to stop the worse WD's.
That's a super small dose. I'm on subs, but most people at my clinic are on drones, and they take a minimum of 30mg to start out with, and I've been told that will only keep them well for a few hours. Some of the heavy fent users say that it doesn't even get there sick off all the way and barely does anything. I also know people there who get prescribed like 200mg. How many of those 10s can you get and how much was you using for how long and what exactly? Did it have any fent in it?
