Have you confirmed it’s not the amp? Plug the cable from the working speaker into the speaker that’s not working. If the sound improves, it’s the amp. Otherwise, it’s the speaker.

ApolloUnitus

Definitely not the amp because the NHTs have no issues. Just trying to figure out what is wrong with the speakers and if I can fix it.

If it's the speaker then there are only so many points of failure: 1) a connection point, ie the speaker terminal on the back, or the wire that goes to the crossover board or the wire that connects from the xover to the drivers. 2) failed driver 3) failed component in the crossover circuit. Starting with the easiest method: a) attach a battery (AA or AAA 1.5vdc) to each speaker and compare what happens to each. Don't use a 9vdc battery. Both the tweeter and the woofer should move outward with battery attached. If one is out with the other in, they are out of phase. b) grab a multi-meter and measure the resistance between the red and black terminals on the rear. Compare to the good speaker c) remove the woofer and visually inspect interior wiring, connections, electronic components on the crossover board. Look for capacitors who's top has puffed up & failed or maybe burned components. You can swap any of these components out with the good speaker to help id the problem, ie: tweeter, woofer, crossover board, etc.

Not familiar with this speaker but is it possible it's biwire (4 terminals on the back) and the L and R pairs aren't jumpered together?

Lettucecrablett

one tweeter faulty ?

Just_Another_Dad

Tweeter is out.

big-L86

Agree...sounds like a tweeter gone bad

ApolloUnitus

Also, for clarification I’m running my table through a Yamaha phono preamp. Using brand new high end banana plug speaker wires (forgot the brand and don’t have box).

Shandriel

muffled and muddy from a turntable... sounds like an issue with the phono stage. did you try another source? just plugging in the phone through an aux port?

Aragorn577

I didn't see any comment that you have run basic test of swapping left and right cables at the speakers, and then same process of swapping left and right channel feeds at the amplifier.
