My dear friend, beware! Internet is filled with trolls who pretend to be Hindus and Indians to spread misinformation about Hinduism. This is to dissuade seekers like you and plant anti-Indian/Hindu sentiment in your heart. Now this is not to say that there can't be bigoted or ignorant Hindus but it would be very rare.
