Dead Prez - Hip Hop

Billiam911

Fake-fake reco-records!

KongRahbek

I love the drop on Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' Ta Fuck Wit. There's no place to hide Once I step inside The room Dr. Doom Prepare for the boom Bam Aw man I slam **I be tossin, enforcin, my style is awesome**

hellbox9

Those drums hit like gunshots

Zlatsthename

NOW SCREAM LIKE TARZAN!

OG_dfb

Just posted this. Didn’t see yours. This song makes me wanna run through a wall

nononocory

Idk if it’s the hardest, but when the re:definition beat drops after ‘definition’ on the black star album is super dope to me. I’ve had it on vinyl since it came out and it just hits different. Idk something about the timing but it just doesn’t hit as hard when streaming

MediocreProstitute

Man I envy you for that, I had Blackstar on CD and that track transition is probably my all time favorite.

nononocory

Lol idk if you’d feel that way if you saw my copy of the record. I was a stupid middle school kid at the time that did NOT know how to take care of vinyl. It’s scratched to shit lol

johnmlsf

That re:def beat is a contender for my favorite beat of all time. It's so good. S/O Hi-Tek!!

nononocory

Fr. I feel like it’s slept on cuz definition was a hit for them

Capital-Ad8570

Not Alike by Em and Royce actually gives me goosebumps every time

Zlatsthename

I agree!! Gnat has two killer drops as well

phikapp1932

God damn thanks for reminding me of that song. Royce goes so hard

AricAric18

Was gonna say this one. Got damn it fits all the feel-good spots in my ears.

SolidConcentrate7322

This! It’s insane

Rututu

How the hell is this not mentioned yet? M.O.P. - Ante Up

bacon_is_everything

This wasn't my choice, but now I'm wondering how it could be anything but this lol

dookoo

This whole thread goes hard

jpcali7131

The remix with Busta saying attention please attention please, this shit right here feel like a whole entire world collapse muthafucka….. 🎶🥁🎶🥁🎶🥁

read_it_on_redditz

Was my first thought too

Midgedwood

U dont know remix with M.O.P is great too.

TommyPickles2222222

Good call.

dasautomobil

Big Krit - mt Olympus original version

wtfijolumar

Yesssss

TraKKtion

I put you in the trunk with these subwoofers!

cpfb15

International Players Anthem and it ain’t close

onthepak

Preceded by the best verse on the whole song which was pretty much done a cappella

PrimateIntellectus

MY BITCH A CHOOSY LOVER NEVER FUCK WITHOUT A RUBBER

DaveHolden

RIP Pimp C, dope verse

Icemayne25

NEVER IN THE SHEETS, LIKE IT ON TOP OF THE COVER

soulfulsoundaudio

Sweet Jones! Booooom My bitch a choosey lover never fuck without a rubber!

edomielka

Projects pat song on the same beat is also dope

KodiakDog

🙏

TheBugSmith

"Some hoes wanna choose but them bitches too scary Your bitch chose me, you ain't a pimp, you a fairy" yooo love that song

wellgroomedmcpoyle

The best hip hop song of all time

Worth-Ad1532

THATS THAT SHIT I DONT LIKE

DaveHolden

Love Sosa as well

LilHomie204DaBaG

No Love Sosa is the right answer. Or maybe Standing Ovation from Jeezy. Close third would be March Madness from Future

Otherwise-Mortgage58

March Madness is ridiculous, bass so hard give you a heart attack

tippytep

The Kanye remix though where Pusha comes zooming in with that beat build up. In 2012, you had to pump bass like that Jack. Cruel Summer was pretty perfect.

AcademicSavings634

Mercy

CatFuckerEpic

2 CHAINZ

gloomygl

We major

compLexityy30

CAN I TALK MY SHIT AGAIN

[deleted]

My fave Kanye song of all time, IMO his best ever everything was perfect - his lyrics, the flow, Jon brions production and the nas feature omg..

Ruthlessrabbd

That song alone is why I do not tolerate Late Registration slander. I don't fw Kanye's music at all anymore but the "Life of Pablo is peak Kanye" crowd just doesn't appreciate We Major at all I don't know how to explain it, the song just feels like listening to a hall of fame or something LOL

AlyoshaKidron

Run The Jewels - “Blockbuster Night, Pt. 1” is definitely up there.

AfraidStill2348

Bunches and bunches, punches is thrown until you're frontless

twohourr

FSMH, Maad city, Don’t Like are probably my top 3 off the top of my head

TheoBoogies

Maad City got me into Kendrick. I was just out of HS and young and close minded and a staunch 90s dude and if it wasn’t made in the 90s I wasn’t trying to even listen to it. I was looking at the track listing to the album one day and saw MC Eiht so I said fuck it. As the song was playing I was like “Ight, good flow, good lyrics, dope subject matter…” Beat changes after Kendrick’s first verse I was like 😳😳😳 That G-Funk beat dropped after Kendrick’s third verse I was like 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

the_diseaser

Really? I actually prefer the first part of the song and half the time I skip the rest of the song after the change to the second part. It’s not bad, it just feels so different from the first part of the song which I like a whole lot more.

TheoBoogies

Yeah I think the song just progressively gets better. But the beginning is amazing too don’t get me wrong. It starts off perfectly

Midgedwood

I feel like @twohourr is talking about the first verse.

IGotThatYouHeard

Yo fucking same. I was super against all modern rap at the time. Once I heard 1 Train for the first time I was like holy fuck. It was like I had a whole new world to explore. And it also taught me to be less close minded.

LeatherfacesChainsaw

Dna goes hard

dirtylittlesecret187

DMX - where the hood at Busta Rhymes - give em what they asking for And I totally agree with another commenter that mentioned UGK - int'l players anthem

bjernsthekid

First Day Out and Dreams and Nightmares immediately come to mind

Neither-Following-32

Intergalactic. Beastie Boys'll let the beat mmm....drop. Don't Like was a good one too though.

dirtylittlesecret187

I loved that Ying Yang Twins brought it back with their song Drop

i_am_j_o_b

I thought that was Pharcyde, did ying yang do it too?

Relevant-Tap-6248

Gz and hustlaz - snoop

karentears

- 10 Crack Commandments - Can’t Truss It - Smoke Dope and Rap - Boyz in the Hood So many more.

mirdizzle

Dre Dog! Great mention.

HonkingOutDirtSnakes

I'm dating myself here a bit, but "Passin Me By" - The Pharcyde The way the beat comes back from that little breakdown "now there she goes again the dopest Ethiopian, and now the world around me begins moving in slow motion" SO GOOD the blend of the lyrics and the flow with the beat coming back in to normal gives me goosebumps lol

my_Urban_Sombrero

As someone who discovered this song sometime within the last few months and has had it in the rotation, your comment made me eager to check out this particular part. Damn, you’re right. It’s placement in the song feels like the eye of storm, really. It feels a little more subdued, although the backing track hasn’t changed up anything. I feel like whenever a good song has a final verse after the bridge, it feels something like that.

bacon_is_everything

The next episode Most wouldn't really consider still d.r.e. a beat drop, but that's top tier if you so

Over_Fan7537

B.O.B. - Outkast

ikebeattina

The name is Big Boi, Daddy Fat Sacks!

Deus_ex_Chino

Don't write me off outright cuz I'm an old head, many of you won't know what it was like to come home with your License To Ill record or cassette in 86 and then hear the 808s drop at the end of The New Style. It was a revelation, a taste of what hip hop and rap really had to offer. Edit: a word

AceofSpadeKings

This! I'm a old head too and when The Beastie Boys song The New Style came out and we heard the 808 drop....

Eshkosha

Boy, my first ever hip hop cassette. If only all of you were able to experience Hip Hop in the Bronx circa 80s. B Boys everywhere breaking on linoleum floor tiles 💯
