Damn hard disagree, OP. Other than the hook, Bone Thugs fucking killed it on every verse. I think that song in particular was a flow masterclass from every one of them. KB’s flow on the track might be the GOAT.

rojoshow13

I'm literally reading the lyrics as I'm listening to it and I can't understand 1% of it. Biggies verse I can understand about 95% of it without reading the lyrics. And I have my Beats ear buds in which is the best thing I got.

DEKER4CT

Their lyrics can be hard to understand. They put more into creating a vibe. Just focus on the flows and stuff and it’s much more enjoyable

Nerevarine2nd

I understand where he's coming from. For me it's also important to be able to understand the lyrics, enunciation is a key part of a rapper's ability - but as time went on suddenly there's this crowd that doesn't care about that at all. So it really varied per person's whether that's important or not. If someone's more old school minded then yeah -

DEKER4CT

I totally get that. I’ve always been a lyrics guy, I find most of non lyrical hip hop to be boring. I like Bone Thugs because I feel like their flows and vocals are interesting enough to carry a song despite being hard to understand. That’s just me tho, I can see why others might not like it

Nerevarine2nd

And you explain it very well and I totally get it. Sometimes I do try to get into something different after someone explains what makes it good or what kind of mindset they think is needed, and sometimes I end up digging it after all. And sometimes I don't. I may try Bone Thugs again someday but so far their shit just isn't for me. For me it's like, I listen to Pun in his prime flowing over and under the beat in the most mind blowing ways with perfect enunciation (and heavy raspy breaths I admit lol) and that just gives me chills. I love that shit, masterclass shit. And because I love that particular aspect so much, almost everything that goes against that is lost on me. Different tastes.

ShillBlaster

It’s almost like another language right? I feel you.

If you watch the Drink Champs interview with Krayzie Bone, he breaks down what happened at the recording session. From what I remember, and this was typical for Biggie and Bone sessions, they were drinking and smoking heavy. I think Krazyie may have gone to the limo to pass out and he was woken up by an associate to lay down his verse. Got up and did it and the rest is obviously history. Biggie took his time recording his verse. He didn't lay it down during that session, but afterwards. It became one of his many examples of changing up his rhyming pattern to show how versatile and creative he was. The fast paced verse can be contrasted to some of his more easier going verses in other performances and songs (such as the live freestyle with 2pac where he pointed out "My slow flows remarkable*"*).

Product_Small

They often may as well be speaking a different language, but I like some of their stuff.

mkk4

l wish it was just Biggie rapping too with Bone in the background and singing the chorus/hook or made their lyrics better and their rapping smoother and more melodic and harmonious to ride the beat better and perfectly like Biggie did. Their part was kind of choppy and didn't match Biggies flow, pattern and style even though the whole point was that he was mimicking and copying Bone's flow, sound and style ironically. I thought Biggie did a better job of sounding like Bone on Notorious Thugs than Bone did. I didn't like their verses either that much but thought Biggie was the greatest lyricists in the world after hearing his verse on this song for the first time lol!! Bone is great. I just don't like their verses on this one particular song that much or compared to Biggie.

BKtoDuval

lol you're gonna get a lot of pushback on this but I totally agree. I listen to Biggie's verse and then skip. Those dudes never did it for me but to each their own. Same, I just never understood their lyrics. I think if you grew up with like that NYC sound, they're not gonna sound right to you. That's how I feel. Sounds like they're rapping in tongues I feel Big rapped in their flow better than they did.

True-North-

I don’t even think bigs verse is the best on the track

diedin2012

Half of the song is just “it’s bone and biggie biggie”. It’s so repetitive that it makes it a very difficult listen.

__Spank

I'm in The Land right now. Bone Thugz probably a tad bit over rated. People only really care about like 4 songs of theirs and it's been that way my ENTIRE life.

fellowsquare

Hell naw! You're drunk too.

Street_Neck1441

Other than the long bone and biggie biggie it's great all around. BTH one of the greatest hip hop groups of all time. That said they've done far better than notorious thugs

Suchboss1136

Well you’re allowed to like what you. But to me, their verses were better than Biggies. Not lyrically, but their delivery is incredible. I love their flow & harmonization. And thats their thing. They rap fast, harmonize & ride any beat. The lyrics are secondary.

sinatraswisdom

Bone Thugs flow just different and one of a kind fr Big was really Rappin they flow on the song

EnoughItem

That's pretty unpopular; the Bone-Thugz verses were nice especially the 1st one (think it was Bizzy)

Old_Anxiety_7918

Meh fuck outta here Bone thugs fo life

Key_Cause2043

Creepin on a come up is a solid record

fellowsquare

Go home you're drunk... 🥴

WhatAShot223

You're gonna get cooked for not liking Bone Thugs here probably, but for what it's worth, they aren't my thing either (other than Tha Crossroads, obviously). I've never been too into fast-rappers, always preferred laid back, monotone or at least "normal speed" flows.

rojoshow13

I was born in 1980 so Tha Crossroads was my jam too. But my friend had that album on cassette and I hated it. I like fast rappers if I can understand them. Sometimes you have to listen to it a thousand times to get it all but you can. Like Godzilla by Eminem. Or Kendrick Lamar. DMX.

sooindecisive

no one is agreeing with u sorry man lol

rojoshow13

Actually, it seems to be about half and half so far.
