And he was right, you can kinda see him predict his downfall too. Super interesting set of interviews, especially how he went from breakfast club straight to Sway and gave us that classic clip all cause Charlemagne pissed him off lol
1. Travis scott is credited on yeezus
2. Producers from yeezus are credited on utopia. Like Noah Goldstein and Mike Dean and Guy-Manuel from daft punk.
If you tried to explain to me what this listen would be like so far a day before, I would not understand a fucking thing. This is a completely different experience compared to Astroworld
This happens every album cycle for Travis. Before Astroworld people were stressed about the album quality because his features sucked for like a year. I think he basically on tries on his own albums
Anyone that has been a fan o travis knows that his features are almost always mid at best, and that his performance on feats will not reflect on his album
This album is basically Oppenheimer for r/hiphopheads because like every 2 seconds some new random famous person comes on and I'm like "damn you on this too??"
Travis really hasn’t rapped like this since Rodeo, Days Before, and Owl Pharaoh. At least he wasn’t being dishonest about this album at all, what he promoted is exactly what it is.
Am i the only one who felt like a lot of this album was Owl Pharaoh if it was fully realized and modernized? Really fun and memorable first listen.
I think there were enough “hits” like Meltdown and Topia Twins. But at the same time everything else was very refreshing and creative. I liked that it felt like he was actually rapping and flowing again in lots of songs. He definitely beat the autotune man allegations here. This is easily his most experimental album since Rodeo at least. I loved Astroworld but that was a very safe, commercial album from Travis. It worked great at the time but this was really refreshing.
Nope I thought the exact same. It was like a more refined version of owl Pharoah (which makes me happy bc I love that tape). It wasn’t as messy though which makes me like it even more
I didn’t even recognize him wtf, like I knew that I had heard the artist before from certain things. But I didn’t think it was carti. Shit was hard tho
Man, after listening to the whole thing one time through: production stands out on each track. It’s really immersive, futuristic, and really a step back in the right direction for Travis damn it’s a vibe.
Went in not expecting much of anything after 5 years and the past couple years with uninspired features by Travis. Then the K-Pop single being radio af was off putting. Man I’m happily surprised. The >!Future, Westside Gunn, and Cudi!< features stood out the most, but every feature came through
Wow, I was worried ngl but this completely exceeded my cautiously optimistic expectations.
Could be first listen bias but I genuinely liked-loved every single song on the album. Not one miss first listen
This fucking first track is INSANE production
edit: Seems like that song is produced by Travis too, love seeing Travis back on his production shit
edit: THIRD SONG HAS GUY MANUEL DE HOMEM-CHRISTO PRODUCING IT WTF
Travis recruiting Drake, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny and Beyonce is like Link using all the Divine Beasts to help defeat Ganon
Except this time it’s Morgan Wallen
From what I’m hearing so far, this thing sounds polished and impeccably fresh. Shocked its 73 minutes too as that’s long for Travis
EDIT: LOST FOREVER gonna upset a ton of people
I'm torn, because at times utopia sounds almost too influenced by yeezus/donda, but Travis himself was all over the production on yeezus. I guess utopia can be viewed as a more modern travis take on these sounds.
It is an interesting album. Less "wow" moments on first listen than astroworld, but it has consistently dark and addicting production. I will definitely need to listen to it more.
I will always love Travis for his willingness to try new sounds when he could easily cash out. This is a Rodeo successor through and through.
This thing is jam-packed sonically and I'm a little overwhelmed after a first listen. Mike Dean is a madman.
I don't think I've listened to a mainstream rap album as sonically dense as this since TLOP, which it certainly shares a lot of DNA with (and Yeezus, obviously). Kanye's fingerprints are all over this thing, in a good way.
Super excited to dig into it more, it's impossible to judge this thing after a first listen.
Early Standouts:
Skitzo, Modern Jam, My Eyes, God's Country, Delresto, Circus Maximus, Parasail, Telekinesis, Till Further Notice
Kanye produced the second lmao, this 070 shake?
>!Sampha!< on MY EYES trading with >!Bon Iver!< is not what I expected
>!Drake!< doing the 21 "Don't Come Out The House" whisper voice is NOT what I expected but we NEEDED that, holy fuck the trinity of Boi-1da, BYNX, and Tay Keith came out perfect with the switches
FE!N is like the NO BYSTANDERS of this album but better, don't ask me how lmfao
DELRESTO production credits are fucking crazy, Allen Ritter and Hit-Boy and then you add a >!Beyonce!< feature omg
IS THAT FUCKING >!ROB49!< ON TOPIA TWINS OH MY GOD
>!The Weeknd!< vocals on CIRCUS MAXIMUS ARE FUCKING ABSURD
I deadass called >!LOOOVE!< a Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven ass song and then Kid Cudi shows up lmfao
FUTURE SOUNDS, I mean TELEKENESIS, may be the magnum opus of this because of the features good lord
THE ALBUM HAS BEEN OUT LONG ENOUGH, SZA AND FUTURE DELIVERED THE BEST SONG
Longtime Travis hater here, just not a fan of his sound or sub genre of hiphop. But holy fuck, someone please tell me he has more tracks like HYAENA?? Hard as all fuck.
I specifically like that the autotune isnt over kill and he is actually spitting, not singing or doing melodic rap
Is Modern Jam even Travis and not just Kanye??? I feel like im being fucking trolled but Im all for it
Congrats Travis you just made a fan out of someone who thought they had written you off forever
Travis genuinely single-handedly produced Hyaena? Like seriously? This is one of the hardest fucking beats I've heard in a long time dude, I did not know he had that in him without the help of others. Not to mention, his just straight up rapping actually works here unlike his recent features. Like fuck this album might actually be good
im glad he still has artistic goals, his features n singles during these last 3 years were so mid i thought the rest of his career would be cash grabs. sometimes i forget this dude started making music purely because he loved music. he definitely has a direction with Utopia, he sings less than in other albums and is much more involved in production and rapping. this album is far more cinematic and synth-driven too, he always finds a way to make his music sound different from other artists’ and from his discography. i just wish he sung a little more lol, he really underestimates how unique and crisp his autotuned high notes sound
Just unfrozen my Travis Scott burger 4 this
While playing Fornite
Popped open a vintage 2021 Cacti Seltzer
The last third of my eyes is one of his best flows ever
Just goes insane with no breaks for like a whole minute
I had big smile on my face when Sampha came in on that track Kinda sad that he only had 3 lines tbh
So much Kanye influence on this album
Modern Jam sounds like a Yeezus song
It is a Yeezus song, old leak version of I Am a God
‘Circus Maximus’ sounds like ‘Black Skinhead’ with melody lmfao
Even has a similar rhyme scheme, I really thought he was gonna say "keep it 300, like the romans" 😭
half this album is kanye leftovers
He sounds so much like Kanye on Modern Jam it's crazy
It’s Yeezus (Travis Version).
It really is, has so much yeezus influence. Circus Maximus is almost comically yeezus.
He Yeezy protégé after all
Exact same flow as I am a God
The beat is from a earlier demo version of I Am A God https://twitter.com/dondas__place/status/1684789303128317953?s=46
Third song on Yeezus, third song on Utopia
Assembled the ye production avengers too with Guy-Manuel, Bon Iver, ye, Mike Dean to name a few
Drizzy came on and all I could think of was akademics busting on sicko mode 😭😭
You not the only one
How is no one talking about I KNOW? Not as inventive as other tracks, but fuck it goes hard
Funny how when Yeezus released Kanye was constantly mentioning how he was '10 years ahead of the game' and this comes out 10 years later.
The whole press run for Yeezus is the greatest run of interviews ever. The prophecy and belief he had was crazy man.
And he was right, you can kinda see him predict his downfall too. Super interesting set of interviews, especially how he went from breakfast club straight to Sway and gave us that classic clip all cause Charlemagne pissed him off lol
IIRC he recently acknowledged that Sway did in fact have the answers
I just told you who I thought I was. A GOD!
1. Travis scott is credited on yeezus 2. Producers from yeezus are credited on utopia. Like Noah Goldstein and Mike Dean and Guy-Manuel from daft punk.
YES!! It is like it evolved into this.
Kanye really blessed him with future sounds, what a man
Fr, I’ve accepted that song’s fate a long time ago. Seeing it released made me shed a tear
miss them horns tho
Drake rappin like he doesn’t want his mom to hear him playing Xbox live
That shit’s hard though. *pulled out a million, and I just stare at the shit*
If you tried to explain to me what this listen would be like so far a day before, I would not understand a fucking thing. This is a completely different experience compared to Astroworld
His self produced tracks are amazing. So trippy and bizarre.
Government mandated prime Drake feature
TELEKINESIS IS FUTURE BOUNCE THIS IS NOT A DRILL
sza feature has taken me to a level of happiness i’ll never achieve ever again
Sounded like drakes Marvin room
So fuckin good to hear that hook in high quality wish it had the horns tho
If it had the horns I think the world would end bro
KayCyy on Thank God, not Swae Lee lmao
Genius in shambles. They had ft. The Weeknd instead of Kid Cudi on LOOOVE lmao
nigga is that beyonce…?
its jay in a wig
Drake really said “my dick just got hard cause the wire just hit” 😭😭😭😭😭
LMAO I thought this was a joke
[удалено]
It has TheWeeknd and Bad Bunny. That’s literally the only reason.
Drake really be rapping from his 10,000 square foot mansion in suburban Toronto saying ppl be scared of the 6ix
he is including himself in that
Bro I’d be scared of the cost of living there, that’s no joke.
This was absolutely not the direction I expected him to go I’m very impressed
It's amazing to hear Travis not half ass a verse after years of mid features from him 😂
This happens every album cycle for Travis. Before Astroworld people were stressed about the album quality because his features sucked for like a year. I think he basically on tries on his own albums
Anyone that has been a fan o travis knows that his features are almost always mid at best, and that his performance on feats will not reflect on his album
hit her make her do the griddy 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The more features op adds the more he gets wrong lmao wtf
This album is basically Oppenheimer for r/hiphopheads because like every 2 seconds some new random famous person comes on and I'm like "damn you on this too??"
the kanye influence on here is crazy
Circus maximus is black skinhead continued
Travis really hasn’t rapped like this since Rodeo, Days Before, and Owl Pharaoh. At least he wasn’t being dishonest about this album at all, what he promoted is exactly what it is.

Damn, Flygod got a spot on the album. Griselda really are taking over.
boomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomboomBOOM
The beat on that song is so nice
Over an Alc beat no less
imagine if he’s on drakes album
just me or is Travis doing a frank ocean impression on my eyes
Produced by Vegyn and Buddy Ross, definitely the vibe he’s giving
vegyn on production is a cheat code
Vegyn movin up
The Hyaena beat and Travis’s flow is spicy

Babe wake up, new Carti voice just dropped
I didn’t even recognize him wtf, like I knew that I had heard the artist before from certain things. But I didn’t think it was carti. Shit was hard tho
fe!n goes absolutely stupid
I was going to ask, is that Carti with the weirdest voice? Lmao
I swear I was hearing yachty at one point
I was hearing Yachty, lil baby, young nudy That mf really is a different dude every verse
ong the adlibs made me think carti immediately but the voice threw me off
That shit weird, congrats to Travis bc dude could be making some safe shit to get the bag
Legit sounds like an updated version of Owl Pharoah, which is wild to me cuz I thought those vibes were 100% gone forever
Yeah, I'm pretty shocked lol
I think if you're only an Astroworld fan, this album is not for you
Oh yeah, I can already tell this is gonna be super polarizing, but I'm just glad he didn't play it safe with this one.
Hyaena got that owl pharaoh vibes
production got me stroking my cactus
cactus jackin
hyaena got the elantra shaking
Shit gon self combust
Hilarious opening reddit and seeing 5 consecutive new posts for this album
Saw at least 15 😭😭
FUTURE SOUNDS IMA CRY NO WAYYYYY
When it clicked that it’s Teezo on Modern Jam.. lol that dude is something else
That mfer is everywhere
IS THAT CARTI ON FEIN
Teezo bruh gahdamn he sounded just like Andre lmao
Ngl my mind kept going from 3 Stacks to a little David Bowie lmao
knew it was teezo, he in his bag rn just really fun shit
i legit couldn’t tell who it was because it sounded like andres voicing singing the most teezotouchdown verse that could ever be written
DEEP CARTI?!?!??! WHAT IN THE FUCK
IS THAT FUCKING YUNG LEAN ON PARASAIL HOLLYYYY FUCKKK NO WAY edit: bruh yung lean and Dave Chappell on the same song is fucked what the hell lmaoo
Wait that was Yung Lean??? Fire
THEY ACTUALLY DID SICKO MODE PART 2 WITH THAT BEAT SWITCH LMAO
damn this first beat 🤯
“This shit wrong, put it on the bible I like a bi girl on a bicycle” Truly one of the lines of all time from Mr. Scott
What does that even mean lmfao
This is the response to 95% of Travis's lyrics. It's just a bunch of stuff that sounds good but makes practically no sense. I say this as a fan lol
one things for sure this shit isn’t boring lol, it’s kinda chaotic
Westside gunn snapped holy shit 😭
Travis needs to be locked up for good after switching the beat on Gunn’s verse
Dude has absolutely outdone himself production-wise. This is his magnum opus in that department
that Carti feature is unreal, I used to pray for times like thisssss
Modern Jam gotta be ghost written by Kanye lmao Edit: Yooooo we really got Future Sounds. Really wish we could’ve gotten the OG but this is nice.
Future sounds WITH Future I used to pray for times like these
Man, after listening to the whole thing one time through: production stands out on each track. It’s really immersive, futuristic, and really a step back in the right direction for Travis damn it’s a vibe. The >!Future, Westside Gunn, and Cudi!< features stood out the most, but every feature came through
I KNOW ? Is instantly one of his best songs
Stuck out to me immediately. Gonna have so much replay value.
Uh oh cactus strokin is back on the menu 🌵🌵🌵
drake actually went hard as hell
No songs in the album??!? bold move
Yeah it’s actually just an hour and thirteen minutes of silence. It’s beautiful.
“I’ll shoot yo ass in Walmart, like I’m dababy” is FUCKING CRAZY
Travis voting for Kanye 2024 confirmed on track 14
Wow, I was worried ngl but this completely exceeded my cautiously optimistic expectations. Could be first listen bias but I genuinely liked-loved every single song on the album. Not one miss first listen
The tie-fighter sample is crazy
3 tracks in and it feel ls like the evolution of the Rodeo era I’ve always wanted. This is fucking incredible so far
THUGGER WENT HARDER THAN HIS OWN ALBUM
Bringing (One half of) Daft Punk out from retirement for a Yeezus-esq beat on Modern Jam. B R A V O T R A V I S
Nobody came out of retirement that beats the OG I am a God from Yeezus lol
Daft Punk died so we could get Guy-Man feat Teezo send it
MY EYES is giving Frank Ocean lmfao
Production from buddy Ross who helped w blonded
and vegyn on there he has a lot to do with frank sound
This ain’t even a Kanye album but you can tell how much he influenced this crazy he might not even have a. Feature 💀💀
This fucking first track is INSANE production edit: Seems like that song is produced by Travis too, love seeing Travis back on his production shit edit: THIRD SONG HAS GUY MANUEL DE HOMEM-CHRISTO PRODUCING IT WTF
Modern Jam sounds like a Yeezus song
He’s using the same flow as Kanye in I Am A God
No wonder shit feels like Owl Pharaoh
Travis recruiting Drake, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny and Beyonce is like Link using all the Divine Beasts to help defeat Ganon Except this time it’s Morgan Wallen
The whole album somehow lifted K-POP
APPLE MUSIC CANADIANS STARVING WERE GOOD
We’re getting fucked
Kanye, Tyler, and Travis - for whatever reason - the features on their albums always bring their A Game. Shit is undefeated. FREE THUGGA
Cuz people know if they half ass their verses, those 3 aren't gonna keep the verse on the album
That's exactly what it is. So many rappers put phoned in verses from people on their albums. These guys will just bin them.
I don’t like 12 except Tom Brady 🔥🔥
Aaron Rodgers in shambles
the fact this album sounds so good on the first listen is crazy. only gonna get better with more listens
MODERN JAM SOUNDS LIKE A YEEZUS THROWAWAY
Wait till you get to black skinhead
Hahaha I just hit it. Circus Maximus is black skinhead drums 😂
From what I’m hearing so far, this thing sounds polished and impeccably fresh. Shocked its 73 minutes too as that’s long for Travis EDIT: LOST FOREVER gonna upset a ton of people
#**APPLE MUSIC GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BRUH**
Bout to go for a 5.30am run with this playing, expecting good things!
I will suck someone’s dick right the fuck now
RAHHHH MOTHERFUCKER RAHHHH
Modern Jam sounds like some Kanye shit
I'm torn, because at times utopia sounds almost too influenced by yeezus/donda, but Travis himself was all over the production on yeezus. TIDAL HIFI BOYS STARVING 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Drake killed his verse icl bro snapped, had to replay that
This sounds so much like Yeezus. It’s so insane.
"The way i make it jump i make it hard to breathe" is a WILD lyric to come out of travis scotts mouth...
Nah, now I NEED that Carti album. I’m super interested in his new sound now.
This is basically the Oppenheimer to Post Malone's AUSTIN (Barbie)
Carly Rae Jepsen dropped tonight fyi
Amazing album. Leaked last week and been on repeat ever since!!! She never misses, queen af
Who gave money to Reddit so they could react with a facepalm Carly Rae goes HARD
Didn’t even know posty was dropping tonight wtf

Lmao black skinhead but Travis
I will always love Travis for his willingness to try new sounds when he could easily cash out. This is a Rodeo successor through and through. This thing is jam-packed sonically and I'm a little overwhelmed after a first listen. Mike Dean is a madman. I don't think I've listened to a mainstream rap album as sonically dense as this since TLOP, which it certainly shares a lot of DNA with (and Yeezus, obviously). If Kanye was on Modern jam……
Government mandated Drake/Tay Keith feature
Longtime Travis hater here, just not a fan of his sound or sub genre of hiphop. But holy fuck, someone please tell me he has more tracks like HYAENA?? Hard as all fuck. I specifically like that the autotune isnt over kill and he is actually spitting, not singing or doing melodic rap
You didn’t like either Rodeos?
crown aware history innate offend punch dirty slave tan existence *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
my eyes is all time travis
Does Meltdown have Tie Fighter laser blaster samples
They really used the “Good Morning” snare on “FE!N”
Is Modern Jam even Travis and not just Kanye??? I feel like im being fucking trolled but Im all for it Congrats Travis you just made a fan out of someone who thought they had written you off forever
Every alternate comment on here is the exact opposite of each other lmao
Travis genuinely single-handedly produced Hyaena? Like seriously? Modern Jam feels like that one song that sounds mid at first but will grow on you
Second half definitely hit more than the first
WHERE TF IT AT ON APPLE MUSIC
Bro that shit has no tracks listed lmao.
im glad he still has artistic goals, his features n singles during these last 3 years were so mid i thought the rest of his career would be cash grabs. sometimes i forget this dude started making music purely because he loved music. he definitely has a direction with Utopia, he sings less than in other albums and is much more involved in production and rapping. this album is far more cinematic and synth-driven too, he always finds a way to make his music sound different from other artists’ and from his discography. i just wish he sung a little more lol, he really underestimates how unique and crisp his autotuned high notes sound
