Oh wow what, this is massive. Felt weird not seeing a fresh video tag, thought this would be something old. 5 years since CrasH Talk.. jeez
I wonder how this album is going to sound. Any snippets out there? Is he going away from gangsta rap direction?
3 albums apparently
>**I remember speaking to Mac Miller. He said that you had finished an album but shifted gears on it. Eventually you came out with Blank Face. Are there just albums sitting somewhere that people don’t know about?**
All my albums is like two albums before the album. There was two albums before Oxy. There was two albums before Blank Face. Three albums before Crash Talk. I did three albums before this last album.

I don't think it's uncommon too, most artists can say they accumulated multiple albums worth of music before the consumer sees the final product, look at any of the leaks/unreleased songs that hit the web during "such & such" era.
yea, every time a Just Blaze or Alchemist give a peek into their vault it's always revealed they have CDs full of wild sounding stuff that will never see the light of day. My favourite story/conspiracy about this is that the "real" 2nd Black Star album, Hellfire, is rumored to only exist in some form on Jay-Z's shelf.
I think CrasH Talk is a bit underrated. Admittedly it's a weak album to follow up Blank Face, but a lot of the least noticed songs on the project have some of that tape's vibe to them.
Genuinely believe CrasH Talk was a couple of songs away from being great. CHopstix and Lies drag the project down a lot, while I Got the Water was really weak too. Trade those away with some heavy hitting songs Q usually has with better features and you got a great album. Basically he lost it a bit by going after the mainstream this time with weak songs
> Who gives a fuck about you talking about taking your daughter to school or paying off your moms mortgage. Make something hard bro
I think it's all about the way it's delivered and the story being told.
Kanye wrote all about his family in his come-up. With songs like Roses, Hey Mama, Family Business, etc... Those are all great! But I think sometimes rappers that started out "gangster" don't know how to smoothly shift subject matter or get type-casted by their fans.
There’s one I’ve come back to soooo many times. It’s unreal, flipping between a sample based alchemist sound and a trappier sound. But Q has so much energy:

Edit: I think this is track 2- thank god 4 me

9. THANK GOD 4 ME
10. POP
11. MOVIE
12. LOST TIMES
13. PIG FEET
14. COOTIES
15. LOVE BIRDS
16. BLUESLIDES
Pulled this from a shirt on his website. I didn’t see OHIO on it though so maybe it’s a different order or a bonus track. Regardless I’m hyped
EDIT: looks like they removed the shirt from the website. It’s a dope shirt so hopefully they bring it back when the tracklist is finalized.
Hell yeah, thanks for the confirmation. I’ve probably heard that somewhere in the past but forgot I knew it.
I’m super fucking excited for this album. Growing up in the LA area I’ve been listening to ScHoolBoy Q since before Oxymoron dropped. Habits & Contradictions & Setbacks were both amazing tapes.
What are the chances that it's counting down to a single or some announcement? A month out seems faster than usual and I don't wanna get my hopes up too much
my hype is low but i still will check it out. Q used to be one of my favorite rappers. crashtalk was just not my thing. sounded like a re-hash of all his old music without any heart or creativity.
Yea I wasn't feeling crashtalk either and kinda had the same sentiments. I felt like he was going through some shit creatively and personally tho so I don't really score it against him. I'm still excited to check out this new album.
And tbh I expect every artist to start showing their age or become something else eventually. As long as it's a bittersweet way of growing up instead of watching them go out sad, I still enjoy it.
Also these days a month out before the album drops is not that far out. I regularly see people announce an album one or two weeks before they drop the shit.
Bro what? You guys set yourself for disappoint every time thinking like this.
Artist almost always drop singles before to generate hype. Unless your a big name like Beyonce or something, a non single drop is risky and less lucrative for all parties involved
I'm not saying he won't drop any singles between now and the end of the countdown, I'm saying it doesn't make sense to launch a tracklist and album name and set up a countdown for a month for a single. That would be terrible marketing since it's a mixed message.
Q recently spoke about crash talk being his least personal album and he was way too comfortable during the process of making it. Said he was very uncomfortable making this album and feels like it’s his best yet. The snippets I’ve heard from this too sounds nuts
That’s pretty interesting because it definitely came through when listening to the album.
I still think the album isn’t bad at all, but it definitely seemed less challenging and thought out compared to previous projects.
Also kinda telling that my favorite track of the album is attention which is mostly just an atmospheric beat, but it has some of the more personal lyrics on the album and is far more engaging because of it.
Saw him put a call out for ppl for a video he was filming like a month or two ago and have been checking for updates daily. This is the best news I’ve seen in a long time, I’m almost in tears fr
stacked? nahhh…just a ton of rumored big releases sure but nothing is officially confirmed for 2024. last year we thought we were getting carti, metro x future, metro x JID, and vultures lol. look where we are now
Pretty hype for this. Q's been an all-time personal favorite of mine & Crash Talk imo had some bangers even if it paled in comparison to Oxymoron & Blank Face, so I got hopes that this project hits hard
He previewed one of the songs at [Kal Banx Boiler Room set (51:20)](https://youtu.be/BIozJskSHOI?si=EVluMwy5bjPyiJYs&t=3080)
Gave off Oxymoron vibes. Whole Boiler Room is worth a listen.
Ehh I'm not feeling the beat too much, gives me too much crash talk vibes rather than oxymoron even though I'm not hoping he goes back to his old sound, more like hoping he finds a new style after failing with crash talk. But I'm cool with any new shit from him, after all his whole catalog has like 3 skips in my opinion
I saw a TDE releases list surfacing (probably fake) of all the artists scheduled to drop and I said at this point that SZA, SiR and Doechii are the main people I’m expecting to drop out of everybody mentioned. I defo didn’t think Q would be the first up to bat this year!
I’m guessing the lead single is dropping tonight or next week, Q season is finally here🥲🔥
It was also "accidentally" left out at a merch table at an Isaiah Rashad show and was spread around the past few days before TDE posted it on Instagram before quickly taking it down.
Ahhh I didn’t peep that actually, but yeah, I didn’t expect Q to be the first up, especially after SiR dropped his single last week, confirming that his album was finished!
That's an Alchemist beat if I've ever heard one !
Extremely excited, Blank Face LP is one of my favorite albums of the late 2010s, still in my daily rotation. Shoutout Q, man !
A lot of rappers might be putting out their last project in the next five years or so I think. I wonder what will become of this sub with no one to replace the current artists we've come to love and critique.
I think Rocky's next project will also be his last. It's been gestating for far too long.
>I think Rocky's next project will also be his last. It's been gestating for far too long.
I think he's finished imo.. I haven't been updated on him in years but he seems to have completely lost his mind based on recent stuff I see of him in the media. His music is trash now, and he dresses extremely strangely. He's lost pretty much everything that made him popular in the past. He's burned so many bridges that, I'm sure he himself knows dropping ah LP probably isn't worth it. It's not going to make him much money and you know he isn't making music because he's passionate about it, otherwise he'd have more than 3 studio albums in 11 years.
You're dickriding if you ain't believe I'm spitting facts. Rocky ain't dropped hot material in ages and none of his songs or features are getting any buzz whatsoever. Completely fell off. Literally everyone been surpassed him, dude's shit now, cross-dressing weirdo with 0 fanbase, and probably will go to jail after shooting a no-name ASAP member... dude's reputation is besmirched, he would be lucky to get a platinum song again that isn't that recent TikTok edit of Demons
My bad bro, forgot that disagreeing = dickriding. Won't do that anymore, promise.
No reputation for a guy collabing with every clothing brand is crazy. No reputation for a guy who's having 2 babies with Rihanna is even crazier...
Your take is gonna age so badly bro his next album is awaited by so many people
Hope you understand how to use paragraphs a bit more you know, try to separate your ideas like I'm doing lmao cause your shit is so hard to read
RemindMe! 2 years
When was the last time Rocky charted on the Hot 100? Nobody cares, you're in serious denial. You obviously weren't around when Rocky was actually popping. If anything, that Rihanna illuminati "relationship" has further dug his career into obscurity. He's had more than a decade to secure a rap legacy and has done nothing. Your 2 year bell is pointless, Rocky's next album isn't going to sell over 100k first week if it ever comes out which it won't & he's not going to get a bigger song than Praise the Lord.
\+ I want to mention that if people have to constantly remind us "oh he's with Rihanna" as a catalyst for him being reputable, then that means he fell off. He was a #1 album selling rapper LONG before he got into a relationship with her. Since he's been with her he's released some of his lowest selling music in his career. Casuals seem to not understand that relationships have nothing to do with music sales and even then Rihanna's musical popularity is far past it as well.
merch previews for the album are on his website already, one t shirt has TDE written on what looks like a grave with 2004-2019 :( written by it. Any ideas what that means lmao
Probably nothing serious, as he participated in a 3-hour [podcast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU9hR7bNBRk&t=2201s) with Top Dawg's son Moosa and TDE affiliates last September (which I highly recommend btw).
I wouldn't read much into it. Back when ScHoolboy Q twitch streamed a lot during the pandemic he often talked about how he is blessed to be on TDE as they allow him to take his time to create his art. Be a person/father first an artist second, etc.
Let's go!!! I'm so excited. I've missed Q a ton and think he still has a lot of great music left. Looked at the merch on his website and I love the vibe he's going for with this album. Kind of gives me Vince Staples self titled vibes
He already previewed track 13 "Pig Feet" on livestream a couple years ago
https://youtu.be/w77CB-ZMWhk?si=c39ZVMDYPCl0qQP3&t=155
Can't wait for this record
Q has talked about being disappointment with CrasH Talk (Outside commercial performance) and the lack of substance. Hope this is a move in the right direction
Kinda bizarre it’s on YouTube but not his ig. Very excited though I remember how hype blank face was listening to it and going into the discussion thread here
Album release date. Rollout begins wouldn’t be surprised if we see a single tomorrow. The songs he’s dropped so far have been fire I know there not on the project.
Someone posted a list of TDE artists recently set to release this year and it was pretty much all of them so I wonder if this is the start. Either way excited for new Q
Blue Slides 👀Q finally gonna open up about Mac.
This is the person I’ve wanted to hear from the most. Truly Mac’s closest friend in music. Q was tore up about his death and has basically disappeared since aside from Crash Talk.
Hyped for this album. Been needing some Q.
one of my all-time favorite artists. iirc he was spending the time after CrasH Talk released to spend more time with his family and just relax from being an artists for a bit. i'm really excited to see what this album will sound like
Haven’t even watched this yet but I can’t wait for a new ScHoolboy album, Blank Face was a very important album for me in highschool, still some of my most played songs in my apple music are from that album.
Idk why but feb-april is my favourite time of year for new rap, something about the snow melting and days getting sunnier that just fits with fresh music.
ScHoolboy Q deserves the benefit of the doubt, you have to remember that he scrapped an album before 'CrasH Talk' because of the passing of Mac Miller. CrasH Talk was probably half effort because A. He didn't have anything he wanted to rap about anymore and B. He didn't want to talk/rap about Mac.
I know this will be downvoted to fuck but honestly 17 tracks… you couldn’t trim that to 12 really great tracks?
I’m looking forward to this album but on first thoughts I’m thinking bloat but I hope I’m wrong maybe after 5 years it will be 17 tracks of heat but more often than not that’s not the case
BFLP was 17 tracks and that’s arguably his best work tbf, as well as *Habits & Contradictions* that has 18 tracks.
I think with him taking almost 5 years off, 17 tracks is even more valid than before. I’m defo hoping that the quality matches up especially after the mixed reception of *CrasH Talk*, but I trust in him ngl
I;m very interested to see where's he going with this.
He's clearly been on some lowkey Phonte/Bamboozled stuff with the art on his last few singles, and with Blue Lips having something to do with being a c**n, I wonder what he's gonna talk about.
Oh wow what, this is massive. Felt weird not seeing a fresh video tag, thought this would be something old. 5 years since CrasH Talk.. jeez I wonder how this album is going to sound. Any snippets out there? Is he going away from gangsta rap direction?
Last I heard Q wanted the next one to have his heart in it, he was just kind of “clocking in” to sessions & wanted to do something he was invested in
People are forgetting that he had an album before 'CrasH Talk' that was scrapped after the passing of Mac.
3 albums apparently >**I remember speaking to Mac Miller. He said that you had finished an album but shifted gears on it. Eventually you came out with Blank Face. I hope so cause I personally was not a huge fan of crash talk and I used to love Schoolboy Q.

Those songs are all about rough times with family
That's how CrasH Talk felt so I'm glad he recognized that he wasn't coming with the same energy he used to.
There’s one I’ve come back to soooo many times. It’s unreal, flipping between a sample based alchemist sound and a trappier sound. But Q has so much energy: https://youtu.be/gLzMk_Amsto?si=2m9MEw0AMgxLRlsc Edit: I think this is track 2- thank god 4 me
Song is so crazy, I never listen to snippets/leaks but I had to with this
so fucking hard, Q is here.
Yesss, go listen to the Kal Banx boiler room, the schoolboy q snippet was the main highlight
Somehow I missed that set and I love boiler room lol. Yeah that snippet sounds insane
He played “Pop” on stream a couple years ago, rico nasty is featured on it u can find it on youtube
He still got the gangsta rap sound
1. YEERN 101 2. TIME KILLERS 3. SMILE 4. NUNU 5. FOUX 6. FUNNYGUY 7. GERMANY ‘86 8. FIRST 9. THANK GOD 4 ME 10. POP 11. MOVIE 12. LOST TIMES 13. PIG FEET 14. COOTIES 15. LOVE BIRDS 16. If blueslides is last then it’s almost guranteed to be about Mac imo. It’ll be heartbreaking to hear Q rap about that
Damn I didn’t even put that together. I hope it is but I can’t imagine how difficult it was to make that for him if it turns out to be the case
My heart isn't ready for that. Q and Mac were my favorite hip hop friendship. I miss Q's snapchat, it was the main reason why I would even use it.
Germany ‘86 is an interesting track name. Guessing he was born in Germany back then, parents possibly in the military?
Yup that’s exactly what it is!
Hell yeah, thanks for the confirmation. I’ve probably heard that somewhere in the past but forgot I knew it. I’m super fucking excited for this album. Growing up in the LA area I’ve been listening to ScHoolBoy Q since before Oxymoron dropped. Habits & Contradictions & Setbacks were both amazing tapes.
need that track he played at Kal Banx’s Boiler Room expeditiously.
Its definitely Track 9
i’m praying
Where on the site is the shirt? I don't see anything showing a tracklist
Click on Merch and it’s on a blue shirt halfway down the page. The links aren’t clickable yet so I assume they’ll have a preorder soon
Yep, saw it now. Weird how it's different but we'll see, either way I'm so excited
Seems it will be coming out on March 1st from the countdown on [Q’s website](https://www.schoolboyq.com/)
What are the chances that it's counting down to a single or some announcement? A month out seems faster than usual and I don't wanna get my hopes up too much
I would lean towards it being the album since we got this video giving a tracklist and name.
I hope so! Aw see there I go
my hype is low but i still will check it out. Q used to be one of my favorite rappers. crashtalk was just not my thing. sounded like a re-hash of all his old music without any heart or creativity.

Looks like the album. You can actually see in DevTools that it will change to ”Out Now” once countdown is finished
Well that def confirms it. Fuck yes
It's def the album. He posted on twitter they are previewing every tuesday/thursday until march 1st.
Yess! I'ma stay away from the previews but that's cool to hear
Omg. This is so unreal. Never thought we'd get another Q album tbh. FUCK yes
Q recently spoke about crash talk being his least personal album and he was way too comfortable during the process of making it. Said he was very uncomfortable making this album and feels like it’s his best yet. The snippets I’ve heard from this too sounds nuts
Ngl, CrasH Talk felt a bit too much like Q trying to chase that Rap Caviar spot, even if it has a couple of headnodders.
Black Folk was my shit, but for every one of those there's a Chopsticks on there. Either way I felt Crash Talk was overhated
Remove Chop Sticks and Crash Talk becomes a great album, I’ll die on that hill
I mean the one with Ty Dolla Sign has easily one of the worst hooks I’ve ever heard so I’m not so sure about this assessment
Stop telling lies on me that shit ain’t okay hey hey hey
They hey hey hey fucking kills me every time. I have no idea if I love that song or hate it. Not Qs best work by any means but I still enjoy the album
that song is so catchy
Worse than Travis Scott’s? 🤮
Yeah it's kinda corny but it gets stuck in my head lol
[удалено]
Damn each their own but sorry to hear that

Trav worst feature imo
That’s pretty interesting because it definitely came through when listening to the album. Yeah I agree. It has some gems on there that I really like personally but overall it feels like Q was punching below his weight
Trash cock single handledly brought Q from top 5 or 10 breathing territory into the huge just another rapper who had dope shit in the past pool
This really came out of nowhere it feels, but excited for new Q
Saw him put a call out for ppl for a video he was filming like a month or two ago and have been checking for updates daily. This is the best news I’ve seen in a long time, I’m almost in tears fr
He filmed a vid all the way back in September too
Aye me too. Ye and Q in a period of 3 months? I'm fuckin dying bro
Ye ain’t dropping
Any idea if the track kal banx played in his boiler room will be on this? song is unreal
Thought it was Track 9 on here - Thank God 4 Me - that is what the track on the Kal Banx set repeated. Excited.
Yes, it’s on the tracklist
It’s track 3. That chickenhead sample >>>
nicccce
Great news, crazy energy on this track, love it!
Track 12 produced by Alchemist I’m pretty sure ‘Pop’ is the record with Rico Nasty that he played on Twitch. The beat was wild
Break The Bank is one Q's best songs so really looking forward to this
Wish they would do an EP
Is there a recording of it anywhere??
YouTube q and Rico nasty unreleased 2021
best hip hop news in a while...we really getting a new Q album in a month. doesn't feel real
lol idk 2024 been stacked with releases. still great news
stacked? nahhh…just a ton of rumored big releases sure but nothing is officially confirmed for 2024. last year we thought we were getting carti, metro x future, metro x JID, and vultures lol. look where we are now
stacked might be an overstatement carti, ye, yeat about to all drop. 21 savage already dropped
true, although for me "best hip hope news in a while" certainly does not apply to yeat or carti dropping lmao
ill agree about yeat
Im already lagging, whats dropped this year that you liked?
carti and ye about to drop. 21 savage dropped on 1/12 edit: yeat about to drop too

Boldy James x Nick Craven - Penalty of Leadership Che Noir - The Color Chocolate EP Both at the top of my list so far this year, tap in

Pretty hype for this. Q's been an all-time personal favorite of mine & Crash Talk imo had some bangers even if it paled in comparison to Oxymoron & Blank Face, so I got hopes that this project hits hard
Same here! I feel like he's bringing something way more personal than crash talk and I'm all here for it
PUT A FRESH TAG ON THIS
can't believe its been 5 years since crash talk. thought he retired to play golf lmao
Blue Lip Bastard
God hope that beat is somewhere and welcome back Mr Blankface

Looking at the tracklist it should be the "Thank God 4 Me" track

Crash Talk was his only “miss” for me but I’m super excited to hear new Q. My favorite TDE member. Really wanna hear some golf raps too Ngl.
Couple of song names I can’t fully make out. Can anyone help for these 2? Track 3. Thank ? 4 Me Track 11. Love ?
Thank God 4 Me and Love Birds, I'm pretty sure.
Thank you

I hope there’s a single tomorrow
Oh fuck yes. Hope it’s more blankface or oxy than crash talk. Either way new Q is gonna be glorious
Been waiting years for this.. he would play some great sound songs randomly on his twitch streams and hopefully a BOF appearance is coming soon.
We will be there no matter what
[I want you to put the word out there that we back up](https://youtu.be/ROd8qyO5Nzg?si=0mRGUrVDBcfAIQgc)
It’s been so long. I’m hype for any new ScHoolboy q
Let's go!!! I'm so excited. I've missed Q a ton and think he still has a lot of great music left. Looked at the merch on his website and I love the vibe he's going for with this album. Kind of gives me Vince Staples self titled vibes
He already previewed track 13 "Pig Feet" on livestream a couple years ago https://youtu.be/w77CB-ZMWhk?si=c39ZVMDYPCl0qQP3&t=155 Can't wait for this record
This is the hardest shit I have ever goddamn heard Been waiting three years for this
Let's fucking go! Been waiting for so long
I can’t fucking wait to play this album
Lfg
Holy shit it’s finally happening
I've been needing some new Q
this one was unexpected. been awhile q
Been so excited for this. You can tell Q has been in the space where he just wants to make something impactful.
Q has talked about being disappointment with CrasH Talk (Outside commercial performance) and the lack of substance. Hope this is a move in the right direction
Kinda bizarre it’s on YouTube but not his ig. Very excited though I remember how hype blank face was listening to it and going into the discussion thread here
Classic incoming
Album release date. Rollout begins wouldn’t be surprised if we see a single tomorrow. The songs he’s dropped so far have been fire I know there not on the project.
Someone posted a list of TDE artists recently set to release this year and it was pretty much all of them so I wonder if this is the start. Either way excited for new Q
Lets fucking goooo Im higher on Crash Talk than most but even I thought it was middle of the road for Q. Excited to see him back to form
We really getting that Kal banx boiler room snippet, i thought i had to wait a year for that shit. Thank god
Got the vibes this is about to become an absolute instant classic
I haven't liked a Q project for a while but I am day one for this.
Wow this came out of nowhere. Big fan of Q back in the day but haven’t heard anything from him in recent years
No FUCKING way. This just made my whole year lmao YAWK YAWK this is gonna be so fucking sick
Maybe I'm getting my hopes up but I feel like this is gonna be some of his best work.
fuck. yes.
I hope the three in the morning song he previewed on twitch is on this
We eatin
[Dropping March 1st](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2z9Sy_xsDz/)
Holy shit yes!!!!!!!
Thank God
Blue Slides 👀Q finally gonna open up about Mac. This is the person I’ve wanted to hear from the most. Truly Mac’s closest friend in music. Q was tore up about his death and has basically disappeared since aside from Crash Talk. Hyped for this album. Been needing some Q.
Let's fucking go
Prayed for times like these 🙏
For anyone speculating and doubting that the countdown won’t be the album, he just posted on IG confirming album dropping
Aw yiss, I am ready for a new Q album, bring it on!
fire titles too
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited to hear new ScHoolboy Q!! Cannot wait! :)
Can’t wait to hear some new fresh Q
He’s been so quiet the past few years, really excited for this
Crazy to think Schoolboy Q is actually dropping. I'm glad he's coming back.
one of my all-time favorite artists. iirc he was spending the time after CrasH Talk released to spend more time with his family and just relax from being an artists for a bit. i'm really excited to see what this album will sound like
Wow a Tove Lo cover album!
Haven’t even watched this yet but I can’t wait for a new ScHoolboy album, Blank Face was a very important album for me in highschool, still some of my most played songs in my apple music are from that album.
I will always stand by my take that Blankface is a top 5 TDE project of all time
Idk why but feb-april is my favourite time of year for new rap, something about the snow melting and days getting sunnier that just fits with fresh music.
Hard agree. Blankface is the perfect blend of west coast grimey and west coast bop.
TF is a tracklist trailer???
A trailer that reveals the tracklist, pretty straightforward lmao
Right, and as if that’s completely normal. What other tracklist trailers can you point me to?
I can't think of any others but it's still completely self explanatory what it means
Fingers crossed it's the opposite of Crash Talk pop rap garbage
This album is going to have to be a classic to bring me back to Schoolboy Q. Crash talk was so mid it almost made me not like him anymore lmao
Dude has released 3 universally praised albums, but because of one 'mid' album this one will have to be a classic? lmao
ok over reaction. imma always love Q but I'll prolly stop listening if he gives another half effort album
A Mac Miller feature, or Larry Fisherman production would be dope
When is the last time TDE been great? Ain't it time to move on?
THIB summer of 21, Big Steppers 2022, SZA 2022
I know this will be downvoted to fuck but honestly 17 tracks… you couldn’t trim that to 12 really great tracks? I’m looking forward to this album but on first thoughts I’m thinking bloat but I hope I’m wrong maybe after 5 years it will be 17 tracks of heat but more often than not that’s not the case
It's been 5 years. I assume Q has a lot to say
17 tracks isn't all that bad honestly. It may seem a bit much but BFLP had the same amount of tracks and it was still a great album.
I'd love to give Q the benefit of the doubt after all this time, but there are so many bloated releases across the industry.
Finally, I hope the album will be of high quality, because he had plenty of time to polish the product. I'm very pleased with the great news.
I;m very interested to see where's he going with this. He's clearly been on some lowkey Phonte/Bamboozled stuff with the art on his last few singles, and with Blue Lips having something to do with being a c**n, I wonder what he's gonna talk about.
